If the timing was very advanced the engine / exhaust would run at very high temperature, it could have been crap getting burnt out, hopefully !

The "cam" is the centre of th flywheel, so it does need to be fully home, but not necessarily tightened. (always wondered what nobody makes a dummy centre)

I've seen an additional "end" welded on, not the prettiest solution but if you can weld takes 10 mins.

Were there not "special tests" from the beginning ? Blackford Hill on ssdt Saturday had the stop and restart "section" in the 70's.
Goodwood for Ferrari etc, that I would attend.

This would be similar to "reforming" all sports using a ball into a single group ?

Not sure if change is the solution, or the problem ? Name another sport that has completely contradicted its original concept to appease the minority ?

To turn this around, can you list WTC events that aren't huge step, pause, huge step - repeat ? Those would be the ones I'd be interested in.
