I dont claim to be an expert but my WD B40 (without tempting fate & touching wood) has been pretty reliable without this. So if its giving problems fitting it I wouldnt bother.
Anybody else got experience of this ?

Dont get the first joke, Donald.

Can I ask why you are doing this ?

Thanks for the info, will give a try.

A few years ago I snapped my clutch cable at the pre 65 scottish, rode the whole day with out it, found that you really dont need it apart from queuing.

Usual indication burnt points, and bike runs when cold but not when hot.
-
Or BPR5ES, runs a little hotter to burn the crud off.

You should maybe buff the Husky motif off if you want it to look period !

Your engine will probably run weak without the oil anyway.

Hi jbswm
The motor is turning over ok, I was told it had been seized, but I think what has happened it the flywheel has come virtually off and has hit the cover, stopping it turning. (I hope)
Getting the barrel off is the problem a the studs are corroded.
Thanks

Hi all
I lost all sparks on my B40, havnt had a chance to get into it but would like to know how to check the lucas generator.
Also are there any checks for Boyer systems ? How long do they last, it must be a least 10 years old. (Just had a look at the Boyer site and they have fault finding information) Any common problems ? Bad earth, plug cap ?
I get the occasional backfire when kicking it over, but can hold the plug and get nothing. The coil is quite old so I may change this as a matter of course.
I've tryed a couple of new plug to eliminate that, but have got no further.
Any pointers appreaciated
Ross

Dog leg levers might give you the reach you require, see below as an example. You might be able to use your original cables, but not definatly.
