  1. David Dixon hasn't been on here since 2009.
  2. Are those recommended plug gaps, hard to tell but last photo "looks" way to close.
  3. What age / condition is the rest of the ignition system ? This would be my first port of call.

    Swm 1982 Clutch Fix

Glen, that was back in 2011, got the springs from Peter. Can Martin supply ? Or failing that the ex army Rotax people maybe ?
  5. Did it have a long "flex " ??
  6. A bit like using a Suzuki piston and a fantic clutch and cylinder head on bantam ..... ?
  7. 13/53 = 4.07:1. 12/48 = 4.0:1. Virtually the same. Nothing wrong with good quality 428 chain, more than capable of handling the power / weight.
  8. Have you strengthened it with a web behind the extension ?
  9. Not sure if I'm typing in invisible ink ? From a safety point of view get an mot. J Bliss creations can be seen as un-sporting if entered against pre 65 / twin shocks. Excluded on these grounds ?
  10. If you had the operation back to front it still shouldn't start, i.e. no choke. Try another carb.
  11. The majority of twin shocks and pre65's probably fall into this category, New heard of one being checked. If you want to cover your posterior get it mot'ed, can be done on frame number if no v5.
  12. Shouldn't start from cold without choke, what does the plug look like ?
  13. Fabricate a longer idle screw ?
  14. Coil earths the through body, so should be properly mounted onto clean bare metal.
  15. Be careful with the long front bolt, if its rubbing / tight to mount, it will wear the tank causing leaking.

    Boots again

Take a bit of breaking in, good boots do ? Fine after a couple of hours. Never felt pegs, but mine are not the bed of nails type.

    Boots again

Been wearing sidi zero one for a couple of years, very hard wearing, not waterproof, but most importantly, offer the same protection even when saturated. All leather boots I've had in the past become very soft when wet. In most makes I go up one size for sealskins etc, up two sizes for sidi.
  18. Anyone know how the weights compare, and how much less friction ?
  19. Jimmy Saviles last request for his ashes was to be put into an etch a sketch so that kids can continue to fiddle with his knob.
  20. I'll jump on the bandwagon, anything that chips chrome would write off an alloy one.
  21. Fantic's aren't really known for jumping out of gear, sounds like you have a selector issue.
