  1. @beardy2000 15 : 62 on 428 chain is 4.13. A decent 428 chain is fine for weight / power of bike, and is narrower than 520. Check chain / tyre clearance before going 520.
  2. Will check and post tomorrow,if nobody else chimes in. (read notes about modifying seal and housing when using 18t crankshaft sprocket)
  3. Have a look here. https://www.trialsbits.co.uk/index.php?cPath=85_182_257
  4. Chris hasn't been on since 2012, so don't hold your breath .....

    Bolt on footrests

Moving footrests back and down, and handle bars forward won't really change the centre of gravity, its more about comfort if your over 5'8".
  6. Carol Nash have really lost the plot, they don't recognise a bike they have been insuring for years. Asked me about no claims discount, even though they don't give it on classic policy's !!! Really painful experience.
  7. Easy to do, problem is electronic ignition is now getting old on climbers. Better with a point ignition which can be swapped for a new electronic if required.
  8. Sounds like your tightening against the outer, rather than the centre. A spacer missing / incorrect size ?
  9. Bottom end is generally very reliable, Martin at motoswm will be able to supply one I'm sure.
  10. Is the 122 a water cooled 125cc road bike engine ? What are you planning to do with it once transplanted ?
  11. A broken engine mount will cause a lot of vibration ......
  12. Put some 2stroke down the plug hole and see what happens.
  13. Messaged you. Unless its a recent import, there's a very good chance it's already registered. Search on here as the subject has been covered.
  14. New brake drum liners can be fitted without stripping the wheels, about £100 plus postage for the pair.
  15. *80's trials bike would be a good compromise, decent fuel tank, actual seat, good selection of gears.
  16. I'd be very surprised if it wasn't, but stand to be corrected.
  17. I was pleasantly surprised riding a 348 recently, turn well and have a decent section of gears if you can find them .... Because they aren't popular j u st now, doesn't reflect on their performance.
  18. Revved a bit, or screamed its nuts off ? Take the plug out and try again.
  19. Change the parts and be done with it.
  20. Standard chain, no problems for me "back in the day" @nzralphy Used renolds or regina with no problems, tell us more ??
  21. With flywheel on, check if points are opening. You cannot set points with flywheel off. Bultaco points/timing is notorious for wandering. Other things to consider. Check and kill button / lanyard by disconnecting. Fit new plug. Check or replace plug cap. Check wiring to coil.

    Bit the bullet

Moving the wheel back, without doing anything else, will make the suspension slightly softer. In my experience, longer wheelbase improves grip. (Look at hill climb bikes)
  23. Shouldn't matter what the woodruff key is made of, its only purpose is to locate the flywheel correctly. If the key is constantly sheering there is another issue. Timing as has been said, faulty ignition, or the taper/ flywheel is damaged.
  24. Auf wiedersechen pet ?
