I ended up getting this bike. You’re all fools to think this bike isn’t worth that much.
only made for 1 year and never sold in America. no wonder you idiots can’t find any information on it, you’ve just got no clue what you’re looking at.
I now ride the bike around the woods almost every single day in the poconos, only thing the bike needed was a carb clean and gasoline.
Find another 1987 beta TR34 for sale in America, go on, TRY.
I’m European countries this is a $2000 bike maybe a bit more, then YOU pay to have the bike shipped over seas and pay the insurance and tell me what it costs all said and done.
so, for the condenser it won't make any difference... VW ?Volkswagen? but needs to be 6V, right? (It is quite some time ago when I last had a deep dive into restoring... most questions even seem dumm to me:-))
could I use any bultaco points and condensors or just a certain kind ... eg... all Alpina or all Sherpa, or all 5 speed, all 125cc ...
Any ideas welcome...
Check the part number for points as I wouldn't be surprised if several models used the same ones. Move the condensor and mount it by the coil (I use vw ones)
so I learned a bit about the Lobito... but does anybody can tell a bit more about the Lobito... seems your are not so often come across one of those... the others seem to be much more common.
And anybody having any ideas about the "one spark only symptomatic"???
Change the condensor, points and plug and try again .
A correctly designed expansion chamber, with long front pipe and absorption type silencer can be very effective. Excellent low power and acceptable noise level.
Pull the old one out, it should be marked on it. Or. Measure the stantion diameter, the inner diameter of the leg and go onto bultaco uk site and match the size. The depth isn't to important as you appear to have plenty space.
My TY250C with electrexworld ignition stopped while idling waiting for the guy ahead of me to ride a section, no spark including after disconnecting killswitch & removing plug cap
My friend has the 1 of their ignitions in his 175 & looking at the parts list for both kits the cdi/coil unit are the same for both so we can substitute to eliminate that, can't find any information on testing the stator though
Can anyone point me in the direction of how to test the various components so I can order whatever has failed
