  1. I can't comment pn the ACU as it's the SACU up here but all their Trials committee members up here seem to be running about in Ferraris and everytime I phone them they're in the South of France.

Amazing how far the licence (Reg card up here) fee goes after administering the sport and running all the championships.

Think you need your medication reassessed.

  2. At WTC they have; agreed, but at club level things have barely changed at all except in peoples minds.

I bought a bike that had a brand new set fitted, used them once and put on well used mitch front and IRC rear. Infinitely better, everything else on the bike was the same. (This was about 18 months ago)

  3. I use an electric soldering iron when making cables, definitely hot enough. I cut the outer to size first and fit to bike, then solder one nipple on and fit to bike, mark and cut. Thread second nipple on, unravel slightly and spread it and punch it to form a cat's ar#se. Apply plumbers flux to wire and insert the pre heated soldering iron, the flux will bubble and run out the bottom, introduce the solder until it fills the nipple. Once full allow it to cool and dress with an angle grinder. The soldering iron should be tinned prior to using.

  4. To test injectors I rig up a pressurised petrol supply (40 PSI) using a regulator, but a supply from a tyre inflated to 30 PSI plus should do.

To supply the injector with electrical pulses I have an old model railway transformer that can supply AC or pulsed DC. I generally test at 25 Hz pulsed DC, starting at low voltage and turning it up until it is just sufficient to fire the injector. I would think tapping the wire on a battery terminal would work reasonably.

Remember injectors are only meant to be fire for a few m/sec. Keeping the current on longer will trash them

EDIT - remember electrical sparks + sprayed petrol = explosion Probably best to do test in garden. I only use a small volume of petrol, probably about 2 to 3 cc per injector.

And having done all that, how do you identify a "burble" ?
