Hi, I am looking for a set of clamps to install the Rockshox boxer forks onto my sons 80, I would pay for a drawing also so I can get a set machined on a CNC mill. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Ossy Byres has a machine shop and manufacturers parts for pre65/twin shocks. Might be worth contacting Audit CNC.

To me, if I am honest, that cuts both ways.  Sure the 'traditional' outdoor is a better event (and surely there is a way round the possible contamination of waterways issue?) but bringing things into an indoor stadium with artificial obstacles increases the potential venues.

Either there are enough people here in the UK that would pay to see it or there are not.  I can't decide.  I would pay but that doesn't tell you anything much - only about me.

I "might" to to an outdoor/traditional round, definitely not a stadium.  Maybe an age thing .....

Fork alignment. In my opinion, the only way to correctly to do this -- is to buy this and use it.  Motion pro Fork Tru Fork Alignment Tool.     www.MotionPro.com.    This is for Aligning front forks to ensure that they are parallel from top to bottom. Bouncing on loose fork legs- grabbing front break then tightening fork axle is useless. any of these methods are.  -    The fork tool will greatly add to the life of fork bearings, forks will have less drag.

    You on commission ?

Bar risers are not an option, look at the pics he's put up of the Beta hinged clamp which is integral of the top triple clamp.

If the current clamps are bolted to the top yoke, an option would be to ditch them and replace with conventional bolt on clamps.

As for 40mph (if that) on the road, I love riding green lanes on trials bikes and the low speed for bits of tarmac to link them up isn't all that bad when you know what to expect.

348's and 349's were some of the fastest trials bikes, riders running late in the SSDT were clocked well over 60mph.

I have a Cota 200 and it has a AMAL Carb.   the numbering on the car is 625 and then below that is the numbers 720 / 404

can anyone tell me where I can locate a carb rebuild kit for this carb.  I am wondering what Main Jet size I will need.  Perhaps the numbers above differentiate that?

    thanks

Is it worth rebuilding ?  The body may be worn making this pointless exercise.

Would some kind soul like to measure the distance between centres on the 320TL front brake stay (Marzocchi forks) for me please?

I've now sourced the proper forks and wheel but need the brake stay yet and thought I would manufacture one myself out of aluminium rather than try to source one.

    207mm centres.

@Dannydangles My advice is what it is take it or leave it I really couldnt care less either way, but as you clearly havent a clue to critisise my trials experience based on riding events etc for 50 years as fatherlym, seems somewhat churlish. Certainly when I was starting out right up to last weekend I'm more than happy to accept any opinion/view/advice/experience from anyone in our community.

It's poor attitudes / manners like the op that is slowly killing trials central. Why bother to give them hard earned advice when they haven't the sense to accept it gracefully.

It's conventional to say "1.6 thou" because saying it that way is easier than saying "zero point zero zero one six of an inch"

1.6 thou could be written just as easily as 0.0016" but when spoken it is a different matter

No, it conventional to say 16 thou, as in 16 thousands of an inch.

Quite so.  If a job's worth doing, it's worth bodging.  You could even try chewing gum or what about wallpaper paste.

Or, you could do it properly.

Your obviously not qualified to comment, stick to polishing and leave riding to those who understand. Have a nice day.
