Hi all,
Got my engine in bits at the moment and while fitting an 18t crank sprocket, I`ve found it rubs on the casing, where it protrudes for the oil seal.1st of all, is this normal? I haven`t got the clutch back on yet so I can`t put a straight edge across, although the bearing hasn`t moved, the spacer is the same, and the new sprocket is the same width as the old one, so unless it was way out before, I`m guessing I may have to relieve the casing?
Secondly, I`m thinking of drilling through from the drive side into the crankcase,, a la the `Rupert Ratio` book, to provide `weir` lubrication to the drive side and possibly improve breathing. Anyone have any tips or do`s and don`ts?Can I do away with the crank oil seal as surely it will be surpus?
cheers Dave

Try a KTM off-road dealer, i had an `02 400 KTM EXC enduro with electric start and the battery is very compact and also quite powerful.I used to use it on my BSA A65 also

Hi,
looks like too late now but I`ve just used "Classic Brake Services" for my Bsa A65. The drums had already been skimmed as they`d gone oval, so Classic Brake fit oversize grippy linings and skim them to the hub diameter. The change was unbelievable, the front was only a single leader but it`s as good as many twin leaders i`ve ridden. Probably overkill for a trials bike but certainly an improvement, apparently a lot of the road-racing crowd use him. Cost me

thanks for the answers, i`m not far from JJ so I`ll try them
-
hi, i need brake and throttle cables making up,anyone know anywhere in the b`ham area?
-
I`m hoping to follow this on sat, where`s everyone meet so i can get a routecard?
-
Anyone know how much these went for?
-
Thanks for that, i presumed I`d have to be a vmcc member to shop there but obviously not
-
I`m after some simple white BSA stickers for my petrol tank, many recommendations anyone?
-
Cheers guys, thats the answers I wanted! I`m planning on going to the SM round on sun, its at Lydbury North isn`t it? What time should I turn up as I want to get a route map.( got the OS one)
-
Re the miller rounds, I`ve seen the regs but as a newboy I`m still unsure what is and isn`t acceptable. I`m new to trials and don`t want to cause a fuss, just wanna ride me bike!

Not too far from finishing the build of my C15, never done a trial before, used to do modern enduro`s so ok (ish) on the mud. I`ve done the usual mods but funds don`t yet run to fiddle forks, so have some old Betors with the outboard triple clamp bolts. I`m in B`ham so looking to ride around Midlands, and I`m sure I won`t be gracing any podiums in the foreseeable....
Which clubs will turn a blind eye (if any?) and would I be eligable to go in Specials class in Sammy Miller series next year?
( P.S for Charlie; after seeking advice from you and others, I eventually widened the swingarm by an inch by simply cutting it in half then inserting extra metal to make up the gap. Then put 2 half inch brass bushes in each side and a mate made up a longer spindle.Downside is I`ve widened bike by half inch each side but I`m 6`2 and gangly so hopefully won`t make much difference)

Thanks very much, knew I could rely on Trials Central for a quick reply!
-
Would anyone have a pic of the above, as I need to order some hopefully this weekend and SM don`t have any pics on their site. Also would be grateful of other recommendations? cheers

Is there an old foundry knocking out Rickman hubs, because I received some pics today of some front hubs up for sale at a not-very-pre65 price, and they don`t look pre05 to be honest?
-
If you search for ` pre 65 scottish` on Youtube, there`s a good quality 9 min video just been put up....
-
Cheers Charlie, thanks for giving it some thought.Hopefully I can get in the garage over the bank holiday and try and transfer the ideas into reality on my frame..!
-
Cheers Charlie, much appreciated
-
Whats the method for widening C15 `arms? I presume its where the `arm narrows near its spindle?
-
Cheers Charlie. I ask because I found an old Classic Bike mag (sep 1990) with a feature on a nice C15/B40 bike ridden by a Trevor Kemp. It says that the frame is C15, modified to take a B40 swingarm as this is ` wider and less likely to clog`?
-
How much wider is a B40 swingarm than a C15?
-
Cheers Charlie, hope I haven`t put you to too much trouble!
-
Just realised that theres a bit of confusion with your answer mate? A kilo is 2.2 lbs so 2 kilo = 4.4 pounds ish?
-
Thanks for the prompt response Charlie, if I`d known you were gonna answer so quickly I`d have stayed on line! Thanks also for your quick response to C15 Headstock bearing question
-
Just wondering if anyone knows the weight of bantam front hubs (the single sided ones that get widened)....cheers
