  1. Sorted now, many thanks. Ready and a little nervous for the first outing on Sunday........
  2. The questions keep coming in :-) If when the engine is running the valve lifter lever on the rocker box moves, does it mean that I need to clearance between the lifter and valve? Or to put it another way, when the engine is running should the valve lifter lever on the rocker box move? Thanks
  3. Thanks for all the advice, I've added a new feed from the return and even a fancy push fit flow controller to allow me the change the amount of oil sent to the rockers. Houston, we are looking good for this Sunday :-)
  4. So, the bike is finished and we're nearly there, but I think I've got an issue with the oil feeds, I have a Morgo pump and the oil is pumping round really well, a good flow is being returned. The problem is that I see no oil getting to the rockers. I took the rocker feed pipes off which are feed from the frame just beneath the down pipe (I think I have a Jackson frame, you fill it from the side not the top tube). I put some thin wire down this hole and could see through the hole which returns the oil. So I put my finger over the hole that returns the oil, turned it over by hand, and oil shot out of the hole that feeds the rockers. So any ideas what's gone wrong, should I fill the frame up so the return hole if covered? Any help much apprectiated, thanks.
  5. Are there any classic trials on this weekend, is please let me know where etc? Looks like nearly everything is cancelled now :-(

    March Hare

The best one I had was when I dropped the bar I used to find TDC in the barrel, about an hour later after much fiddling with cable ties and a torch I managed to retrieve the little blighter. See you there.
  7. That time of the year again, the March Hare is on this Sunday. Really looking forward to it, just hope the weather is kinder this year, the snow was a little harsh last year. Should be a good turn out for the big bikes, just hope the new number plate arrives in time. Anyone else there on the day?
  8. Are two strokes eligble for the Scottish?

    Tubed Tyres

Thanks, makes sense. Can you use a tubless tyre with a tube?

    Tubed Tyres

"I heard a rumour, it was just a rumour..." great song btw. Siouxsie & the Banshees... Sorry back to topic. Does anyone have any news regards tubed tyres, are they being phased out? I understand stocks of tubed IRC's are far and few between. Would be interested to understrand the options, tube in non-tube tyre, tubeless??

    Mot Exempt.

Exactly, all you need to do is fill the form in, I think a 'O' for age related and Bob's your uncle :-) Happy days.......... However I will still pay for the MOT and tax to sort out all the f in pot holes
  12. Hello, I got a new set of sliders from http://www.andover-norton.co.uk/ for the Ariel I'm building,
  13. Another local trial, clashing with a big event :-(
  14. It was on and it was great, where were you, did you support it?
  15. Just got one for my new project from here, great service http://www.danger-uk.co.uk/
  16. Strange that Emborough Ponds is waterlogged, the name might suggest this would happen :-) Will you put another one before or just after Christmas, I was relying on this as part of my fitness plan for the Talmag?
  17. Hadn't really thought about putting a more modern engine in it, but worth a think. Does anyone know the hieght of a C15 or B40 engine, I think I have around 16 inchs in the Bultaco frame I was looking at?
  18. Yes time does fly by, ever thought about putting a BSA C15 or B40 into a modern frame, I guess the big question is the overall height of the motor?
  19. Since my little chance meeting with a post at the Hanbury scramble I have a fair bit of spare time on my hands at the weekend, and no, this does not mean spending quality time with the wife christmas shopping. Was thinking about putting a BSA unit into a Bultaco or Fantic frame, so has anyone got any tips or pointers as to the best direction to take? Does anyone have any photos of similar projects? I simply want a build a cheap (ish) bike and ride in local trials, so not worried at all about eligibility etc for the flag ship events. If anyone has done this before and I'm sure people have, what makes the best combination in terms of frame and engine? Thanks in advance.
  20. Thanks all, much appreciated............
  21. I need to drill a hole in the rim of the front wheel for the rim lock, how do I work out exactly where to drill it? I've been told the correct position is four spoke gaps behind the tube valve in the direction of forward travel of the wheel, thoughts please gents.
  22. Work out what kickstart you want to use, I'm not familiar with 2 stroke Bamtams, but I guess you don't need a very big one for it. The buy the kickstart plus a kickstart spline for it an replace the old original spline with the new one, simples :-)
  23. Thanks, at 220 AUD I'll think I'll give it a miss. Got one from DragonFly in the end.
  24. I'm trying to hold of an alloy gear lever for a Burman gearbox, I think they were made back in the day. Does anyone know where I might be able to get hold of one, been searching on flea bay with no luck. Thanks all
  25. Good to hear your keeping the spirit of the bikes alive and not going for a C13, Bantam or similar. I'm in the process of building an Ariel at the moment, the parts are pretty easy to get hold of and there's a lot of knowlegable people out there. I'm also reframing my Matchless springer and have taken the opportunity to use some lightweight hubs. One important thing to take into account is the ignition system, I've gone the electronic route on both bikes, the Ariel has a Interspan in a PAL whilst the Matchless has Interspan in a Lucas NC1.
