Hey Super Sherco SAM!!!
I just hope we can make our event just as much fun as yours was.
Be sure to tell me that the section I am observing is the best, most fun, and perfect section of the day. It will probably be a lie but I don't mind, I live in my own little world anyways.

Ya'll need to scroll farther down. picture of umbrella girl.
-
I still prefer the Bikemania Series. I think it has better bike control, can get out of tricky spots better.

Scott,
My wifey would probably pay ya to take me out for a few days and smack me around.
Hey Sam,
Ya know Scott is right about those Beta's..........they are just a glorified tractor.
-
Hey Biff excellent video, your perspective at section 4 makes almost like I was there.
WAY COOL!!
-
Thanks for the invite, but alas the Warden........I mean the wonderful better half of my marriage has decreed that there will be no nationals this year.
-
Hey Sam,
How much to send my bike to CO? I am not riding the national or even planning on leaving MI but I thought the Sherco could use a couple days vacation, and see some sights.
-
You da man Andy,
Watching the world round and covering it. Sampling some of the local Beverages?
And still find time to clean up all our scattered posts.
Actually I am just a bit depressed that I am not there to enjoy it too.
-
Hey all,
Word from man in the woods. (Biffsgasgas)
Fuji --7pts
Bou--11pts
Raga--30pts
-
Not sure what is common but since it is apart and probably preferable not to do it again anytime soon.
Things to check
Connecting rod bearings (big end and small)
Piston pin
Rings
Crank Bearings (I think that is what you are already changing)
Crank Seals (Ditto)
Tolerance / wear on Piston/Cylinder
Clean carbon, oil, and gunk off Piston and Head
Reed Valves
Condition of Clutch Plates (generally if working good, then gonna be fine MHO)
Water pump seal (if leaking change, other wise leave it be, MHO)
Look over Transmission if anything looks broke or really wore or metal shavings investigate further
Feel free to add if I left something out.
-
Well, I gotta have something to hold myself to the bike so I don't fall off. PUCKER POWER!!!!
-
Nope, I meant electrical tape----sticky one side, black kinda shiny other side, nice and stretchy.
I are redneck
-
Yep had similiar "tennis elbow" thingy.
Took long time to heal cuz I am too stubborn to stop doing the things I enjoy.
Tried the arm band thingy that goes just under elbow. Seemed to help some.
And one day I realized "hey, my elbows don't hurt anymore"
Has not been back since.
-
-
And I thought I was cheap!!
Grips installed----- wrap a layer of electrical tape on bar and throttle tube. Slosh small amount of gas inside grip.
Grip slide on easy and never move again. And no pesky wire to worry about poking my sensitive hands.
Grip removal:
Option A: use knife, grip come off quick----umm hard to reuse though.
Option B: Use compressed air--------I have had good success with this and easy to reuse. (back to me being cheap)
-
Do they come with Bar ends?
What a coincidence the bars I bent were blue. They matched my............Bike
-
Well, over the winter I bought a new throttle assembly and got new grips. I removed the old grips with an air gun and saved them as spares. The old ones were 2 yrs old. Yep I are a cheap *******.
First event I crashum big. Bike did perfect 3 point landing upside down, Bent my new bars and ripped my left grip and I had to pick out stones from under the grip. Might need to put the "old" grips back on, a bit worn but at least no rips.
-
no plugs = holes in end of grip
Plugs = hole in end of grip is well plugged.
I use bar ends. Just personal choice to avoid changing grips whenever the end wears through (oh and they came with the bike)
-
Necrophelia?
What married physical relations is like?
-
I replaced rings, small end bearing, crank bearings, crank seals, and wrist pin. Before doing this did not hear much noise. After I hear a some what "knocking" noise. Actually seems to go away with higher revs. Or bike too loud at that point to hear the knocking. Runs great, performs well. I just figure it is cuz I was too cheap to change the piston.
When I tore the engine down the rings were leaking by so badly there were scorch marks on the piston below the rings and on the cases under the crank bearings. How did that darn thing still run?
-
WOW totally amazing how close the British Government is with the US Government.
Love the part (and so true) about mailing the form to my house and then asking for my address.
-
Had a Blast!
Great turnout for the event. Biggest we've ever had I would say
Some may say Saturday was a bit tough on ADV and EXP (OK it was tough) BUT do remember that even I at the bottom of the ADV class tried every obstacle. And went away with a smile.
HEY SAM,
Great Job for a first time hosting an event, and BEAUTIFUL property.
-
Well considering I am not as well spoken as I would like to be..............
What Biff said
-
Congrats to Pat.
Hey FanticMatze,
I bet when you returned to Germany you thought you would not see any more crazy American trials riders for a long time.
-
Thanks for the replies guys.
Yep I thought the modern kids bikes would push back sales of the TY80.
