  1. OK I am too lazy to do the search TC thing. I am trying to put a used Michilin trials tire onto the rear rim of my 1986 TLR 200 Reflex. This is my problem: the bead of the tire will not seat. It is a tubeless tire, the rim is for a tubed tire, and I have a brand new tube in said tire. Is the rim designed in such a way that is preventing the tubelss tire to seat on the rim? Or do I need more than 95 PSI to make it go "pop"

Stupid me hit the "add reply" button twice so I am now editing my second post to cover up my stupid mistake and now no one will know what I did. I am so sly.

    Boat In Section

Sam, I had heard that the property in Rose City is awesome! I am assuming (never a good thing) that the loop will be a good length, due to enduros, dual sports, and such being run on the property. If they continue the nautical theme, I would suggest a set of Scuba gear and a long snorkel for the bikes intake and exhaust. Propably gonna ride over a submarine next. It would be like a large log.

    Boat In Section

Yep that boat was great, For the Advanced class side of the boat the Metro club had sprayed some sticky, bumpy, grippy type paint at the front part of the boat so we could get some traction to get on, but at the other end no spray stuff, and it was slick to try and raise the front wheel just a little before coming off the boat. I watched a couple Experts just slide and spin on their side of the boat, it was very slick. Gotta agree though good event as always. 125 points out of a max 200 is that good? I had a blast though.
  5. It's the hope that keeps me going.
  6. copemech Posted Yesterday, 10:44 PM Zipper, if you will put the proper plastic cover over that thing that goes round-n-round, it will lessen the mud thrown up between the legs and into the crotch and eyes. It is not your old Mustang minibike Well now what would the fun be in that?? The muddier I am the harder I must be riding right?
  7. HHMMM this is not the first time I have seen someone refer to this odd ritual. What exactly is this "washing the bike" I have heard so much about? isn't my 2000 sherco supposed to be dirt colored and lumpy?

    Ty80 Runs Odd

Well have made my decision then: I was originally trying to get it running perfect and then sell it. it is becoming more than I want to deal with cuz it just needs to leave my garage. So I just gonna sell it.
  9. I think that Copemech makes a very good point here. The majority of trials riders are do-it-yourselfers when it comes to maintenance and repair. I am decently mechanically inclined and if I have access to proper spares on the day of the event I can repair just about anything that may break on event day and continue to ride. The way the bikes are made now are relatively easy to diagnose the problem, if getting into throttle by wire now there are sensors, contact points, and more wires. if you crash in the water and the throttle is submerged what will that do to the throttle by wire? What I am trying to say is that the new technology is more difficult for the majority of riders to understand, the majority of riders are not 17-18 and totally interested in all things electronic. Majority I think are 25-50 and mechanically inclined. Just my opinion, and usually nobody cares anyways

    Ty80 Runs Odd

air filter is okie dokie, I even tried running the bike with out the air filter for a few minutes and it did not change. The bike came with a tune up kit, New points, condenser, and plug. I will give the points and condenser a try. I have not done this sort of thing so a few questions What is the proper method of flywheel removal so that ignition timing is not messed up? what is the proper gap for the points? (sll I remember from when I was a kid was they need tobe gapped right) I hope it is not a crankshaft seal. Thanks for all the ideas and help

    Ty80 Runs Odd

OK here is the long story: Got a TY80 from a relative, was told it was running before gas all evaporated out of tank and tank rusted up. First did a Kreem kit on the tank (looks spiffy) clean out carb. still don't run quite right. Cleaned out carb numerous times. still don't run quite right. This is the most recent items done to bike: clean carb with solvent, remove all jets, choke assembly, remove air fuel screw, clean all parts and blew compressed air through all passages. Set the carb with fuel air screw 1.5 full turns out. set needle clip in 2nd from top groove. Was originally in the top groove. gap spark plug NGK B6HS (nice golden brown in color) gapped to .022in or .5-.6mm This is how it runs: Starts pretty easy with choke It will warm up when sitting idling if given gas it will bog down and stall. If you are able to keep the revs up it runs beautiful. messing with choke about 1/4 or 1/2 choke will keep the revs up. it will idle well for quite some time and then eventually stall. have tried upping the idle a bit, but no change in how it responds to gas, but if idle adjusted up to where it runs good it sounds like it reving pretty high. if reved up good runs great and will cruise around yard with my big tush on it. In order to ride around yard gotta rev it up and basically dump the clutch and keep revs up, when shifting it will bog when first shifting but with much gas will rev up and go. (this all may be due to my big tush being on it aroung the yard. Changed the needle clip back to the top groove, and this had no effect on how it ran. Even after the head, exhaust pipe, and exhaust gasses are HOT it still will bog when given gas while idling in neutral. Also noticed al fair amount of oil on the cases and area near the base gasket location. Any ideas? What did I goof up? What catastrophic thing is broke?
  12. Scientific research has proven that chocolate is good for you. As far as putting on weight..............ain't helped me much....but shaving the head and putting on a fire breathing penguin does wonders.
  13. whooo hoo yea the USA gets a world round in 2008!!!!!!!! Maybe MavTV will cover the event.
  14. Hey mxasp, Heard you could not make it out last Sunday. Are you able to come out this coming Sunday for the event?

    Cope-xispa?

Basically that is normal. Except he has a miata, way cool car. Don't remember the name of the movie, but a advertising exec. decides to write ads truthfully and one he came up with was "Volvo--Boxy but good" he ended up in the asylum

    Cope-xispa?

I need to win the lotto and then buy a rig and travel the states riding trials. Or at least what I call riding.
  17. I remember that movie! Which one are you? the kid with all the inventions? the kid with the older brother? the older brother? the fat kid? (wait that's probably me) the big goofy looking guy they rescue? One of the girls? I need to get out more.

    Cope-xispa?

I was liking the idea of Harbor Freight that I saw in a thread around here somewhere. The clutch in the truck sorta works, if you shove the shift lever hard enough it goes into gear, sometimes even on the first try!!! Better take the Miata besides it looks cooler than my truck. Maybe we can stay at Copies' house, than we would be loco and local. I ain't never understood nuthin' totally. But it been fun. If you need to understand my state of mind just check out my avatar.
  19. after reading Sam's story I am glad that my WGASA penguin Tattoo was made out of eye liner. Hope you can make it out mxasp. There are many loonies in Bent Fenders and MOTA, and most of us are very entertaining. Sam you a loonie?? We know Biff is.
  20. Sam, You gotta admit it does look cool!!!! Did we mention ALL WGASA members need the tattoo?

    Cope-xispa?

Local no I guess not But LOCO most definately. OK serious questions, Is there a US importer? How much gonna cost? Is there really 3 bikes to be tested by riders? I would be interested to find out how well they hold up and some pics of said reliability and testing would be nice.
  22. mxasp, I tried sending you a personal message using the TC messenger. I am not sure if it went through. Internet explorer gave me a not able to display that page message after I clicked send.

    Cope-xispa?

let's hope one of those items is to keep the Mrs. happy whilst rider is away. Hey throw my name in the hat!! I am in the bottom of the Advanced class but hey for a full factory ride I would move up to expert. (If I don't like a section I can always jump off the bike and get a 5). Is it a problem if I am fatter than my minder???? Would I still have to go screw myself???? Can I cut the wranglers into shorts??
  24. He forgot 4. watch Biff crash and laugh your a*** off. mxasp Yep Bent Fenders is the closest geographically to you. Biff is a good guy to get a hold of rides more than most of us. pm me and I can give easy to follow directions to our club property, if you would like to come out. I may be there saturday Sept 15 (depends on if the wife lets me go out and play) Look for the bald, fat guy wearing shorts while riding.
