    My Opinion: The combat frame is deltabox (?) and protects the fuel tank with having frame rails on the outside of it. The vandal frame is more standard/conventional with frame "backbone" running under the fuel tank which would allow for having a larger fuel tank that "drapes" over the sides of the "backbone" and still maintain the low profile of the standard tank in the combat. Combat is for competition so higher possibility for crashing etc.. need protection. Vandal is more geared toward long(er) trail rides and the possibility for crashing is less.
  5. I think the tensioner has a slider block because in a pinch I can make one out of Teflon. (I used a router for the machining, I a little bit redneck) Pieces Finished block
  6. Not just destroying my knees but I am pretty sure the battery box itself will get beat to ***** from all of us "normal" riders crashing. But I agree the clutch and transmission on an electric bike is interesting. I still prefer 2 stroke power.
  7. I had an intermittent clunking/clicking noise. It didn't matter what gear I was in. Sounded like it was in the transmission. Pulled the chain tensioner block down to give the chain some slack and the noise seemed to go away. So split the cases and discovered the shifting forks were bent, replaced with new and replaced all the thrust washers. Also replaced the large diameter bearing for the clutch shaft. Slap it all back together and it still did the same damn noise. come to find out the rear wheel bearings were bad......................very bad Had some new ones on the shelf and 15 mins later......noise was gone. Not sure if this would be your problem, but just remember it's not always something catastrophic.
  8. Yep that is what the Trials Training Center is for. They have hosted 3 world rounds there. They also host the Kenda Tennessee Knock Out (TKO) extreme Enduro. OK snarkyness aside. it is a great place, everywhere you look is prime trials riding. We of course did some riding while we were there. great time was had by all. Andy, I luckily did not see the slithering friend you have pictured.
  9. Everyone probably has their own opinions, but this is what I do and it seems to work well. Place bike on a secure (and hopefully level) bike stand. so that both tires are off the ground. Adjust chain so that there is one finger width between the swingarm and the top of the chain tensioner rub block. there are probably other methods, but this one works for me.
  10. The happy couple are currently on their honeymoon and may take a little while to be able to respond. But I am sure they are happy that you provide this wonderful website that allowed them to achieve their happiness.

Arrangements were made and contact information was exchanged. FanticMatze and Biffsgasgas were going to meet up in Michigan and do some trials riding. FanticMatze would be introduced to all of Biffsgasgas' friends and the MOTA trials event season. Biffsgasgas was super excited about having a European trials rider riding with us for a couple of years. Who wouldn't be? A chance to have international trials riding, sounds great! Biffsgasgas told me "I can't wait for that guy from Germany to get over here and do some trials riding" I politely mentioned "umm dude, the person coming from Germany is a woman" (turns out that was just perfect) So FanticMatze arrives, meets all of us knuckleheads, we hang out, ride events, do practice rides, all of the things trials riding friends do. It was a great couple of years. but unfortunately for us, but to her family's delight she had to move back to Germany. FanticMatze kept in touch with all of us and would even spend vacation time over here in Michigan to hang out with us. Now this should have been a clue to the rest of us that something was up. Who would want to voluntarily spend a vacation in Detroit? Not just once to see the sights but multiple times. Well it turns out there was definitely a reason she kept coming to visit. It was not for the weather or the scenery. So now we fast forward to last weekend. An epic and wonderful event in the lives of Biffsgasgas and FanticMatze. Two people I am very very proud to call friends. I pose a question to you all: You and your fiance both love riding trials, where would be the best location for a wedding? That's right! Trials Training Center!!!!!!! There was a lovely, relaxed ceremony at Bilboa Falls. (unfortunately it is the dry portion of the year so no running water, unless you count my eyes tearing up. Hope nobody saw that) Trials bikes were ridden by the Bride and Groom to arrive at the ceremony site. (Scorpa and GasGas respectively) Family was in attendance from all over the world. Both sets of parents, brothers, sisters, friends of the bride and the groom. I met many wonderful people this past weekend. The happy couple after vows were exchanged. And of course after the ceremony there must be a reception with CAKE A good friend named Fang found the lego motorcycle kits and had the motorcycles painted to match their GasGas and Scorpa. Way Cool. Sorry no pictures of the Bachelor/Bachelorette party, but I will tell you it was not your typical party. We are trials riders after all. So we set up 4 sections and rode trials, also showed off our "skills" for the family members that were there. I must say this was the a great wedding weekend, the entire weekend was a perfect reflection of the personalities of FanticMatze and Biffsgasgas. Congratulations you two. I wish you many years of happiness.

  13. Could be the O-ring on the Crankshaft bushing is allowing the gearbox oil to leak past.
  14. If you have sent the fork lowers to be powdercoated with the bushing still installed the heat from the coating process may damage the coating on the bushings.

  16. The problem I see with the weight limit rule is that a standard production bike is already lighter than what the rule is. So IF I wished to compete I would have to add weight to the bike and I could do so in locations that would actually be beneficial to my riding. Yes, I understand the signing up to partake in a sport/event means you abide by the rules etc.... My comment is meant to be more of a "I think it should change". Sure, keep a minimum weight, but maybe base it on production bikes. Maybe there should be a rule that ALL participants must ride a bike that IS the exact same as a production bike or at least much closer than they are now. If the weight limit is meant to keep manufacturers from developing bikes from exotic lightweight materials that other manufacturers don't have access to, then I think it failed. Majority of manufacturers already produce bikes that are lighter than the weight limit right out of the box. Just my 2 cents.
  17. OK those of us that are scared of heights will understand the feeling I am about to describe. Just watching that video I get the same sensation as when I am climbing a ladder and get up to about the 8th rung. (I am a light weight, I can get on single story roofs with a really gentle pitch, but that is as high as I get.) this sensation is a tingly feeling in the lower extremities, a weakness in the legs and a indescribable and unyielding need to get down/lower/sit down. but hey if it works for this guy .... go for it

  22. My work shop is the detached garage to the right of the house, harder for the Mrs to come bother me. I only have about 1/2 acre of property and the neighbors are super close. but they are alright and trials bikes are quiet (ish)
  23. I believe he meant the cracked frame tab is more likely a symptom of a possible broken engine cases. You will definitely want to fix the frame tab, but after making sure there are no other issues. say with the engine cases.
