I just wait for all the video buffs to complain that all you can hear is the electric motor whine, and then say that even Dubstep music would be an improvement.
I believe they are low on members, also attendance to the events have been dropping off. Which is something I don't understand. The events are always fun, they do a good job with the property they have available. The new Wardsville property was AWESOME, the property owner is a great guy, would hang around the campfire with us, had a power washer set up for us to use....
and another thing to consider. The Windsor group crosses the border multiple times to attend the other MOTA events. It is only polite if the rest of MOTA crosses the border 2 times/ (once for 2 day event) per year and support the Windsor club.
Unfortunately the Windsor Motorcycle Club will not be hosting an event this season. We all hope that the club is able to return next year. I have always had a good time at the past events. Friendly people, challenging sections, just a good day out.
On edit: (so if you wish to see me ride around showing off my pasty, hairy, flabby legs with my fashionable and protective riding shorts, you will need to travel to Michigan or Indiana. I know that is one heck of a motivator isn't it?)
Not sure how to get the date of manufacture from the VIN, but http://gasgasmuseum.com/ may give you a good idea of what year it is by looking at the pictures. Just click on a year and take a look.
I completely avoid any of the problems associated with pant legs by wearing shorts. They are comfortable, roomy, offer full range of motion, plenty of ventilation on those really warm days and really show off my hairy, pasty, flabby legs that drive the ladies wild.
Make the videos for your own satisfaction. If you like the music than put it in there. If I don't like the music I simply watch with the volume off. Good videos/camera angles etc..
All the "older"/"established" riders please remember that these young gentlemen are just that, young. This statement is not meant for anyone to not critique the video. Especially since the young men actually ask to have the video critiqued. But the reason I say remember they are young is because these videos are not necessarily meant for the "older/established" audieance, they will show these videos to their friends etc.... and that music may be what gets others their age to keep watching the video. and the more youngsters that watch the better the chance they will want to ride.
What did I do to my GG today? Topped up the tank, dressed up and rode it in ice and snow in the county forest!
It was just too nice out. So I rode it out to 2nd line and back, following the dirt road in the Drury 1 county forest trackt, and the groomed 2-track snowmobile trails. Slippery as ****! But never dumped it. Put a foot down more times than I can count, but man, that's a good way to learn to "feel" your bike, when you have no front or rear wheel traction on ice and slushy snow! I headcam'ed the whole trip....not sure I'll post it though.....
Still and all...it was a great to be on two wheels!
Maybe Spring is finally springing in my neck of the woods.....
Your Bio says Canada...........sorry to say sir, but Spring does not arrive in that particular part of the world.
I found that the side by side event was well received and was fun to do if you have the space. It is great if you can do it as part of another event... maybe even get paid to do it . It certainly helps build interest in the sport and can be a lot of fun. If it isn't a timed event (race) it can typically be covered under the WTC insurance policy like any other trials event... but the riders should still have basic liability insurance coverage on their bikes (which not all riders bother with) as you are typically closer to the public than you are in the woods.
Kramit tell us how a lump of lead on the bashplate may help reliability, it'll be real good usa lead btw.
USA lead is the best lead around! If you like I could get the lead out of my @ss and come show you.........but I am too busy sitting on it drinking  and watching NASCAR
Don't worry too much about not being "bike fit" very few of us have actually practiced since about November.
The season runs through beginning of October so you have plenty of time to come to an event. If you would like just show up at one and be a spectator and see how MOTA operates.
We have many classes to choose from, basic descriptions
Beginner - Find your way from start gate to end gate
Novice - Same as beginner with some markers to go over a small log or two and a turn or two
Intermediate - More/tighter turns, another log or larger log, turn on hill
Senior - rides the Intermediate line
Sportsman - harder half of Intermediate and easier half of Advanced
Advanced - bigger obstacles, tighter turns (hopping is helpful but not necessary) plenty of run up and run out for obstacles
Expert - BIG stuff, tight as hell turns, hopping needed, no run up/run out. basically "SCREW EM! they are riding the hardest class"
You could just try taller rise bars as well, also make sure the width of your bars is correct. Too wide and your upper body will actually move forward closer to the bars.
OK That last video did it! With having the various "styles" of walking the sections you have earned a place in............................Team WGASA's "PLACES WE LIKE"
Our first event is scheduled for April 26 and 27 in Ligonier Indiana. This event is usually very well attended because it is a great event and is a dual event with the event also being part of the Trials Incorporated calendar of events as well.
We currently have 12 events scheduled for 2014. (Each day is considered an event or a round if you prefer) http://motatrials.com/events-schedule 2 in Indiana and the other 10 in Michigan. I would guess from your location most of the events would require approx. 2 hrs travel time.
My 300 has the short seal savers/fork gaiters and one was soaked with oil indicating I had a fork seal leaking (on the brake side of course). So order seals from "local" guy for a good price and wait for them to show up in mail. Recieve fork seals and tear down forks, replace fork seal. I now have the upper fork tube in the lower fork tube with the oil seal and dust seal installed. (my first time doing seals on my GasGas) That is when I discovered the little "cup" goes into the lower tube BEFORE the upper tube..
This is a pic after I took it back apart to install the "cup" first.
So of course after that fork leg is done I reinstall on the bike. Now it looks funny with one fork gaiter thingy on. So I cut the other one off to find out that one is also soaking up fork oil......................Good thing fork seals come in a pair.
