  1. Excellent suggestion, Biffsgasgas was at that event.........I heard Ryan Young took some time to do some observing. Biffsgasgas while riding the section told Ryan "Thank you for checking" and then promptly went over the bars. (I tell the story because Biffsgasgas posted a pic of me going over the bars in the "Show your GasGas" thread)
  2. Welcome, Buy the bike that feels "right" when you ride it........(cough GasGas cough cough) As far as age goes, it's only a number, unless you can use it to your advantage. A fellow Team WGASA member is in his Mid to low 50's and rides Expert class. very well also................Although he can crash with the best(?) of them. He has had some really spectacular offs and got back on the bike and rode the next section.
  3. That front brake is AWESOME!! This is what happened upon landing, yes the handlebar is INSIDE my boot. Mama always said I was some kind of special.
  4. Howdy Shyted, That wonderful Golden Piece of GasGas perfection is Biffsgasgas' new to him bike. I still ride my 2003 300 Old B.A.G.G. (It's got blue plastics) I may eventually get around to posting a pic of her. But the 03 Gasser is TREMENDOUSLY better to ride than the 2000 Sherco 2.9 I had before it.
  5. Copemech, don't catch me, catch my bike!!! I bounce pretty good.
  6. Welcome to the weird wonderful world of trials! If you are looking for competitions I think Trials Incorporated is the club that would include your state. (Unless of course my knowledge of geography is crap.....which it is)
  7. Remember to smile and have fun, that is why we do this. Also watch some of the better riders, talk to the other riders about how they are riding the trial, etc. And try not to get too nerved up scores, Also if possible have somebody "catch" for you on things that make you really nervous. Sometimes just having somebody standing there "just in case" is enough of a confidence builder for you to really give it a go.
  8. I use the WFO method to clean the exhaust........... Go to a trial with a lengthy trail and get in top gear with the throttle Wide F*****g Open, when exhaust stops smoking when you stop its clean. (I did this once and the silencer got so hot it darn near burned my leg )

    2014 Scorpa

I just hope the 2014 Scorpa no longer has that angled skid plate. (probably a comment about 4 yrs late.........)
  10. That qualifies as "Super Awesome" riding in practice to me.
  11. I ride super awesome.............until somebody puts up markers, ribbon, tape etc and decides to watch me.......
  12. Perhaps you should read my opinion on safety gear http://wgasa.motatrials.com/8-fluffy-kittens/4-are-you-showing-too-much-knee
  13. I likes the Teeter Totter. This is mine, ridden by GHMT (not me)

    2014 Scorpa

It's a nice update for the Scorpa brand, but it seems like a "Sherco Clone" Scorpa has in the past been known as a good solid clubman bike that performs well and takes a beating. As we all know the "newer" bikes that are lighter and more performance oriented have a need for more upkeep. Will this update lose some of the robustness that the clubman riders want? Is the 280 (272cc) the only motor option available? And what the hell does the "Twenty" refer too? anything in particular or just a name they pulled out of a hat? But even after typing that, It does look the business as they say. any ideas on price?
  15. That might be part of my "problem" Buffet Bar.....Beer Bar etc..... and then
  16. Jimmie, I am not too good about taking it easy either....
  17. About 9 or 10 months for this last time. I don't remember how long the time before that but at least 6 months. (Same elbow). It's kinda weird because for a long time it just hurt, and then only hurt when picking something up etc... then one day I realized "hey, my elbow feels almost normal again"
  18. I have fat bars on my bike and the absence of a crossbar offers more room for my belly when going over obstacles!
  19. Potassium is supposed to help with spasms and arm pump
  20. This may or may not help post #5 has pics look in the space between the foot peg and the rear brake pedal, there is a black plate attached to the frame. The side facing out is smooth, and you will notice the 2 weld marks where the bolts go through the holes in the frame, I can't remember if the plate is just curved upwards to catch the kickstarter or the side of the plate facing inwards toward motor has a tab that sticks out to catch the tab on the kickstart lever. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/37450-tl-125-kickstart-options/ Sorry couldn't find anything else.
  21. It is MY technique and I will use it as I wish!! You can't make me change!!!
  22. NO man, it's BEER in your cereal!!!
  23. "Do I need the power of a (insert siz bike here)?" is a bit of a loaded question. According to many we club level riders don't need anymore power than what an 80cc or 125cc engine would provide (but that would be no fun). Main question is do you like the way the bike rides/reacts etc..? If you like everything else about the bike but starting is too much hassle then maybe the base gasket option is a worthwhile option. On edit: I have no experience with Ossa so my opinion may be crap.
