  1. Welcome back....................At least you got the nasty crash out of the way already
  2. If you are too far forward, leaning on your arms/ bending your back forward etc.... maybe a slightly higher handlebar bend or bar risers may be in order. I switched from low rise to mid on my last bike and that made a huge difference. Plus low back did not ache as much.
  3. Crank Bearings are not horrible to change if you are comfortable completely dissassembling the enging. Splitting cases etc.. Also if you tear the engine down that far you may as well do a total rebuild to save having to do it later. such as: Crank Bearings and seals, various gaskets, Rings, Piston (if out of tolerence), small end bearing on con rod, reeds, etc.. etc.. you get the idea. It can be a bit expensive that way. But on the plus side you would have a "new" engine! (I would probably have looked elsewhere also ) But do bear in mind all used bikes will have a few things that need "freshening up" to make the new owner happy with the bike. The key is how much you want to deal with and how much more $$ you want to throw at it to make yourself happy with it.
  4. I had the Crank Bearings go bad in a 2000 2.9 and if you hit the end of the handlebar in a downward motion with the bike off you could hear the crank moving and banging around in there. Ran good, shifted fine was "rattley" when running. (rumor has it that Shercos are known to have the Crank Bearings go bad)
  5. Your knees are stiff. When you are riding up and both wheels are "climbing" you should anticipate the upward motion of the bike and bend your knees with the bike. Yes, the bike has suspension but so do you (knees) and they work together. Trials suspension is more "pogo stick" like, and will somewhat "bounce" the rider up a bit. hence the need to "soak it up" with your legs. I may be off and if I am somebody shall point you in the right direction
  6. I don't see what Chad's family has to do with this?
  7. Coop650, yep that looks like it could be a bit of a problem

That's good to hear it's back up and running Too bad it required a total wipe My older boys are in an IT and Network program and was helping a family friend with computer problems After much it was sadly decided to do a re-install. Computer owner was less than pleased.
  10. I did skillfully place one of bikes onto the bottom of a Canadian stream once. Sucked water into cases, popped out the spark plug, turned bike upside down and pumped out the water, cleaned air filter with some 2 stroke fuel and finished the event. I will surely laugh if I see another one do that, after making sure the rider is OK of course.

Billy are you Taking the pi$$? Maybe that is what got in Copes pooter? Wouldn't that then be DHMO with added minerals? Making it a Super DHMO performance enhancer? Works for Bear Grylls

Able to ride a larger than 125cc bike is for the better. I am glad to hear that is a possibility. My reasoning is this. Most people that will ride the guest class are "club" level riders that already have a bike and generally over 125cc. These riders are going for the "Once in a lifetime opportunity" of riding in a World Round and don't have the resources to purchase/rent a 125cc bike or have one available to borrow. Also these riders will not be familiar with how to ride a 125cc (yes way different than bigger bore bikes) and this may get them into trouble in the section and potentially cause injury. In My Opinion it is a good decision to have the option of at least requesting being allowed a bigger bore bike that would basically be that riders "normal trials bike" that they ride. Hopefully the FIM honors these requests. (I know under 18yrs old have specific rules about engine size and the FIM will be taking that into consideration. But for the adults: Let em ride whatcha brung)

  14. First of all I apparently stutter when I type. The double "and". I may have misunderstood some of the posts, but the impression I got from the comments like, but can he win the SSDT? was to mean that the 13 world titles mean nothing compared to a SSDT win. That was the "vibe" I was getting. Yes the SSDT is a trial but run under different rules and platform. (No stop and uses roads long distance). Therefore in my mind a different type of event. Yes, if Bou competed and won the SSDT it would prove be is also the best at No Stop (but if he wins the outdoor this year won't that prove the same thing). Bou competing in the SSDT would be a good thing for the sport.
  15. OK I will throw in my 2 cents here. Toni Bou is the at the moment holding the most WTC titles (Outdoor and Indoor added together) Congratulations to the man for this achievement. Now for people to sit at their keyboards and and say things along the lines of " Oh that's great and all, but can he win this other type of event" Which is similiar to " Oh sure he is great at trials but could he win at Enduro" great way to diminish his achievements and Just makes you all sound like jealous little brats in my opinion. He set out a set of goals and has achieved them, and these goals are so far out of reach for the rest of us we should be in awe of his talent and dedication. This actually applies to the "Old Guys" riding WTC and the "New Crop" of riders emerging in the WTC.
  16. That is one of the best descriptions I have read of a crash is quite some time.

I see, you are in the "all agitated and wanting parts to get here so you can get it all done" phase of the project. I think I am purpetually in that phase

I would think dripping is a bad thing. Good luck making them leak free At first glance I would say wiring diagram is good but I don't do so good on paper. I am more of a follow the wire to where it goes kinda electrician.
  19. Easy fix, pop cover of master cylinder, push the pistons all the way back into the caliper until they bottom out flat. re install on bike and pump the lever until the pistons come out and compress the pads onto the disc. Maybe they just need to be "forced" to move a bit. Extreme fix would be romove brake line and split the caliper. Use compressed air to "POP" the pistons out, ( careful they will fly!!) inspect and replace seals and pistons if necessary or re lube everything with brake fluid and put it all back together.
  20. They already left as he typed it onto TC
  21. Good Video. That automated camera man thingy seems like it will be some really neat technology. Mr. Neutron, Yep that is Goddard, the dog thingy. I must confess I do enjoy Monty Python, but I am unfamiliar with the Mr. Neutron character. Have you watch "The Young Ones"?
  22. Thanks Mr. Neutron, We may have been technically inside but there was plenty of ventilation and zero heat. But NO SNOW!!! that was the main thing. (If you click on "Moving Pictures" in the top there are more videos. Not all are riding trials. WGASA is a lifestyle!!!) OH and I banged my header pipe on top of one of the "walls" at The Warehouse and put a small dent in the bottom of the curve. Been curious about something .............. How's Goddard doing?
  23. yep need new O-ring in the middle where the fluid passes between the halves. Just make sure new O-ring is right size and will be compatible with brake fluid.
  24. But you committed to it and you EARNED your 5!
