  1. Sam,

Are you beating the crap out of that pretty Sherco of yours?

If you are going to spend the money on a spare rear rim and all that, I would suggest getting the montesa rim (DID?). Plus side no rim tape to deal with and if you break a spoke no need to remove the tire to replace.

  2. I always teased Bernie and author Len Weed that they left me out of the book. The 1974 NATC results were the first year of the US Nationals as a series. 1972 & 1973 were a 2 day (weekend) Championship and were organized by the MOTA club in Michigan. I rode the whole series in 74 and Bernie only rode 2 events and he still tied me for 9th in the series. Lots of good riders on that list.

    Thanks again. Martin

The MOTA club is still alive and well. MOTA

We have a pretty good series with events in Michigan, Indiana and Ontario.

Dick DeBolt is still very active in trials, riding and organizing.

Bob Hopkins is another name I recognize from when I was a youngen.

  3. Sorry in advance to viewers of this topic, as it has nothing to do with trials!!! I'm currently reading this and my size is Massive. Last night i did something that i can't fix! I clicked on a website and Scrolled my button and everything went Huge and i cant find out how to return to normal!!! I do hope this makes sense to someone!! :bouncy: I've logged out then back in again, but still the same problem.

Sorry Hoggle I just could not resist a bit of editing. Do realize it is all in good fun.

Now this may explain why I wear glasses.

  4. As a side note I have a 2000 2.9 that I use Maxima 75wt Motorcycle Transmission Lube. I change my oil once or twice a year. I have not had the clutch plates stick at start up, always been a nice smooth clutch operation, no slippage. (maybe the plates are just old and don't hook up like they should)

Filling it back up takes a little bit of time, I lean the bike over against my workbench at roughly 45degrees. I have a funnel with some silicone tubing that I use, Takes a bit for it to flow into the bike, but with the tubing attached to the funnel I can stand up and not be all hunched over.

The following is just my opinion and may be subject to fact verification by someone who actually knows.

I don't like the idea of using automatic transmission fluid in a gearbox. The ATF is a hydraulic fluid used for pressure applications not for its lubricating abilities. Inside a gearbox lubrication is way more important than pressure abilities. And a Gear Lube that is designed for motorcycle wet clutches is designed for just the purpose that I am using it for.

  5. That's OK, I've been so busy with band stuff, I forgot how to ride!

But at least you are able to do one of them really well...................I can't play guitar very well anymore or ride very well.

This should be a good time, Sam your event is always a great way to kick off the MOTA season. Great property, Good fun, Wonderful people to hang out with, and excellent weather..........(Well most years there was that cold rainy year, but we won't dwell on that)

  6. I do not usually send around messages like this one... but these kids were ingenious and sent a powerful message that we should all hear!

Kind of like the kid who took the Chemistry Final and finished a half hour before everyone else. However, rules were once you sat down you could not get up until the Proctor said so. There he sat and after a few minutes he nodded off. When the bell rang he woke up only to see the Proctor looking at him in an empty room. It seems he slept 5 minutes PAST the allotted time and had not turned in his paper. He walked up and tried to hand his Exam to the Proctor but was told that since he was asleep and didn't turn it in on time he would get a Zero.

The student, perplexed and angry that the Proctor who clearly saw he had finished early would be such a jerk. He looked him square in the eye and asked, "Do you know WHO I AM?" The Proctor, stood up, leaned forward looked the student square in the eye and said, "No... I have no idea WHO YOU ARE and I really don't care!"

The Student quickly took his exam paper and inserted it into the stack of exams that had been piled on the desk between them. With that he smiled at the Proctor and said, "Good! Thank you," and left!

    :P

  7. When eric and i were in europe we found what nigel dabster said to be very true about how the british lads have to against the same stuff as the american kids in italy it was proven for a fact when alexz wigg should have won but the home town hero matteo grattarolla got some leanient calls from the observers. If pat wants to do anything he pretty much can he is very focused and dedicated to his profession. But I cannot say enough about how lucky we were to meet up and befriend some of the brits like: jonathan richardson and his dad, alexz wigg and his father Julien, the lampkins, and it was an awesome pleasure to meet andy ! all the brits treated us with so much respect and kindness, we both face the same barriers against foreign language and foreign observers who are going for the home team !

But how were you able to settle the most important argument...............Coffee or Tea?

It's great that the trials community does look out for each other even at the world level. :P

  8. Zippy, if youm search the enternet, you can find those suuperconducting magnates that fit round your balls and give you the power you need to finish the movie!

    :barf:

Keep them away from the kids!

As Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor would say........MORE POWER AARRR AARRR

I do like the sound of Geena.

Lucy sounds just a little too......well loosey.
