More just shooting from the hip Steve, and my appologies to all for hi-jacking the thread (Blame Canada).
Oh ya gotta watch out for those Canadians eh. They are up to something.........Nobody can be that friendly of a neighbor and that quiet with out planning something......................
I like the colors........not as seizure inducing as some past years..............although the yellow could be changed to black.
Not real sure about the exhaust going out the side.
Don't particularly like the gas filler cap, seems like it sticks out a bit and my scratch a leg,
Fuel tank will get a few dents in it,
Radiator does appear to not be very well protected from the sides.
I like the shorter gear shift, makes removing the flywheel cover easier
Frame itself looks good to me,
I think (may be wrong) that the header pipe is a little longer with a larger radius to the curve around, this will be helpful for riders like me that keep hitting the F****ing thing and bending the two sides together and making it damn near impossible to remove the lower bolt.
I guess the real test is put some in the hands of average Joe Rider and see what they think, Also would be nice if Caby would take one out and drop it off a 8 foot ledge and see how well it holds up. Provided of course Caby don't get hurt.
i would think each country needs advertisement from their own dealers, importers on their sites etc.
See, that's the problem for the US, we don't have an importer or dealer for the Xispa. Yes I know the Canadian importer/dealer is relatively close in physical distance to me, but then there is all the hassle and taxes for me when bringing the bike into the states. (not that I can afford a new bike anyways)
Difficult for anybody in the US to make an opinion, good or bad, about the bike if there are no bikes available.
I do get confused when I ride a standard bicycle, front brake on the left. blink.gif
Uk Bicycles have back brake on the left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

don't know how it came about, but it just makes sense to me that all the braking levers are on ones side, and all the shifting levers (gear selector and clutch) are on one side.

Swap it to the other side, like wot we have.
I should have been clear that all my bicycles have the front brake on the right and rear brake on the left.
but on occasion I have ridden my sons' bikes (they don't ride motorcycles, not their thing), and rental bikes and those are standard with front brake on the left.

Disclaimer: I did cheat a bit, I have a mouse with the little ball inside. Remove ball and use finger to spin the appropriate shaft and viola!!! super speed without mashing hand into keyboard.
edit: upon reading this statement a day later it really sounds a bit lewd.
Would it be Politically Incorrect of my to refer to you as Dumbo? (The loveable Disney elephant with large ears that could fly)
Or should I say that you are auditorially gifted?
That's mighty fine 'cos my wife says that when I get drunk I do an impersonation of a 'baby' elephant ohmy.gif , you know trouser-pockets turned inside out etc...
Next time tell her it is a 'baby' elephant in a petting zoo!!
Cope I understand the taking longer to heal, I now wear a knee brace when I ride, Damn Osteoarthritis. The brace helps hold the joint apart a little bit so the 2 ends of the bones don't slam into each other as hard. Actually works pretty good.

Took my boys to an indoor Mountain Bike park in the winter time and they LOVED it. Crashed a couple times, got that out of the way, and back up to go again. I was so proud when they crashed, said OW! and got right back up and hopped on the bike and tried it again.
I just use some silicone gasket maker of your choice. Put some in the groove that the O-ring sits in, put O-ring in groove. If you are really feeling like gooing it up good, put a thin film on the case as well. reinstall.
Seems to work OK on my bike.
HMMMMMMMMm, does this mean that you won't be selling the bike at a bargain basement price to me?
Hello from North Texas. I've been lurking around here for a couple of weeks and decided to go ahead and join the other inmates. This is a really nice website and I'm glad I came across it. This past weekend I picked up an "experienced" Yamaha twin shock TY250 and I'm looking forward to having some fun with it. About 40 years ago I learned how to ride off road and have done some trials before but it's been several decades past. My riding the past 30 years has all been on the highways.
Having said that, excuse me if I ask some simpleminded questions from time to time but I'm willing to learn and this looks like the best forum to do just that.
As a kid my dad, brother and myself all had TYs of some size or another (80cc to 300cc), them bikes were darn near bullet proof. We beat on them on a regular basis and just could not kill them.
The simple minded questions are the ones that us inmates here can handle the best.......... because we are all simple minded.
