  1. Surely its the opposite, why buy a new overweight fourstroke when you can get a really good secondhand bike for the same money, cant see the logic.
  2. because they would put up some money to import without trying one "in the field". Plenty here in the uk have looked at this but a decent market for a low grade low price bike just isnt there in most peoples opimion?
  3. and there i was thinking bultos were for riding
  4. exactly. The new bands are very hard to get right and rquire the edge to be sealed perfectly which will be your problem.
  5. the new rim bands are very difficult to seal.
  6. 250cc. I was the same but my mates in yorkshire said it was a bit too much for some becks (whatever they are) and they made me change it mid practice session. Instantly it was much better because the gasser can rev (more than all the others?) so shortness isnt a disadvatage. The added bonus is down south 4th on a 250 becomes very usable.
  7. ive known Sandra since she was 12 and her family and they are trials through and through, but as with 'fredo there isnt the money or career in trials for the lower wtc positions, im not sure she has a choice unless she wants a normal job....
  8. Not sure you have trials in your blood if you think that. Im pretty sure its not an easy decision at all, if it was just about money lots more wouldnt even bother with trials, but im sure the FIM know best and what small changes that Sport 7 made had certainly helped some of the also rans or guys on there way up keep going.
  9. not horrible, just like me you dont ride like an expert. Same cost if you go to 9......
  10. very common change in uk
  11. she isnt really a hard enduro rider, trials has always been her thing afaik.
  12. scorpa is a very small production anyway?
  13. Years ago with a brand new bike it happened to me so im very careful if its cold out side. A pal had a rebore done last week and the piston would not fit after the cylinder had been in the van overnight, so care needed!
  14. im sure donor bikes are the way to go to keep them running. Birketts here in the uk still have some spares I think. You should be able to get a broken one cheap enough but bet there are less than 50 in the united states? Did lewis sport ever have anything to do with them?

    Italjet

mine feels very heavy but is nice to ride.
  16. most swap for the csp cap which is very nice.
  17. prices have dived abit this is the most undesirable model, but they are a great clubman bike, id say closer to £1100 would be right, but it looks lightly used at first glance.
  18. find out where people practice i think a place called frys is near meet up with the guys there and have a go.
  19. dont we all do that already anyway, by opening throttle a 1/4 round the turns then 3/4?
  20. Not for me jimmy im fairly consistantly average, but never lose 3 x marks one day to the next on similar sections. I could never get to the bottom of the 4rt grip, almost when it (I) was good it made it easy (showa suspension?) but when it got into trouble it was always twice as difficult to recover............I gave up in the end and went back to 2t
