  1. Ellastone may have one but they are a bit of a rip off, they know how to charge for TLR bits.
  2. Not bad, i did the same to mine, knocked 2 minutes off my personal best time for mowing the lawn!
  3. Hmmmmm can of worms here, the amount of effort that goes into making modern components look like "pre 65" ones is an industry in itself. I think people just pay lip service to "pre 65" rules these days, otherwise there wouldn't be a single bike in the pre 65 Scottish.
  4. This is more down to the way in which a 4 stroke delivers its power, right at the bottom end it comes in a little bit sudden and pushes the front, any TLR 250 owner will say the same thing. Not really anything to do with the forks.
  5. Gotta recommend Falcons, good quality and work great, make sure you have the correct springs though.
  6. Had 2 bikes respoked with stainless spokes and both have been used...hard for several years, No problems whatsoever, still look as good as new, and no rust or siezing in to the nipples, i would use stainless every time, it pays off in the long run.
  7. Having just sold a Scorpa 125 and having owned two TLR Honda in the past, in my view there is only one clear winner...The Scorpa!! (ducking for cover ) Jesus, 20 years development to try and beat a TLR and they still haven't managed it!!!!! God bless the French!

http://www.gasgas.com/Pages/Technical/Home.html Try this for now, has tons of technical tips, maintenance etc. Then you need to contact the UK importers to see if they can get you a manual: http://www.gasgasuk.com/new/page1.htm[/url]
  9. Only use a fully synthetic oil at that ratio though, not a "synthetic blend" oil.

Have to disagree slightly about the SWM parts situation, as you know i have one myself, and can generally get hold of anything required. New engine parts straight from rotax, used engine parts and anything else from Martin at motoswm.com As for the Honda spitting back, i think it's down to individual bikes & riding style, i have never experienced it on my 250 in all the years i've owned it and i've never seen it happen to anyone else, but i could just have been lucky.

Things may be looking up then! May have to bring the beast out of retirement, (after the 350 motor has been shoe-horned in!) it WILL fit dammit.

I think you are being a bit kind to some of the classic rounds Woody, one or two of them are very dissapointing, where quite a few people go round clean which in my opinion is a complete waste of time if you can't even get a winner. Thats why i won't be making the effort again this year. Not being a Yam fan, (i had a TY175 and it was totally gutless) i wouldn't really know where to point people for a competitive t/shock ride, the TLR has to be a favourite though, it has the best suspension as standard of all the t/shocks, and can find grip like nothing else, but you won't find one for
  13. Forget it, polish 'em instead, looks better, costs next to nothing and doesn't look awful when the anodizing wears off or gets scratched.

I saw it on ebay, is there some kind of bulge on the other side?

I would always recommend stainless spokes, ok it costs more but they always stay nice and shiny and won't rust, if you are going to the expense of rebuilding your wheels why bother cutting corners with the spokes!
  16. I have to agree, i'm not really a fan of four strokes because of the noise and the environmental issues regarding waste oil, but just look at the problems they have caused for mx. I assume they meet current ACU noise limits?
  17. Just whack some multigrade in for the trial, then get some proper oil in for the next one. More worrying however, is where has the oil gone to?
  18. This is the piston! How does it stay upright whizzing up and down being so short? Amazing!
  19. Marky's right, what's the point of posting a pic of a bog-standard trials bike?
  20. I run my Swm on 60:1 full synthetic (shell advance) Seem to have good results so far, engine runs clean, doesn't smoke.
  21. Where was the guesswork? Back in May i told everyone on this board that the price for the basic model would be
