  1. Right then, from now on all my injuries have been suffered "at work"
  2. My van has just averaged 53 Miles per Gallon, half the time with all my tools/equipment in the back. There's no need to drive round in vehicles that don't even do half that these days, it's just selfish, and will have consequences for us all if we don't change our attitudes.
  3. At last!! The Cotswold ER125/175 as promised. These things run well too, John Bliss's previous project, similar Chinese Honda type engine as 4 stroke majesty.
  4. does the noise occur when you run the engine stationary or only when you are moving?
  5. I remember seeing these at some classic rounds last year sometime, 200cc or 175cc. They seem to go pretty well, use the same engine as it's predecessor, the cotswold Easy Rider series, i have some photo's of these and will post them when i've worked out how to reduce them down!
  6. The 247 was made in 1990 along with the 207 and 307. In 1995, the "section" was the current model with a liquid cooled engine.

I think it was a bloody horrible bike, big, ugly, overpriced and boring to ride. But that's just my opinion
  8. Ahh the 4 stroke majestys!! They have been around for a year or two, John Bliss and Craig Mawlem build them I think. Engine is a Chinese Honda clone built under license??? John previously made the E.R. Easy Rider 4 stroke twinshock trials bike, and Craig makes the "new" majestys which have been seen on here previouslyl.
  9. Don't understand when people say IT blew my stickers/paint/grease out of bearings etc etc. Who the hell was standing there aiming the damn thing at the stickers/paint/bearings etc!!
  10. I think you're being a bit harsh on the old TLR250, make no mistake, this is an incredibly reliable machine, it's ability to find grip is second to none, parts are pretty easy to get (should you need any) and of course the build quality is top notch. Mine has been the least trouble of all the bikes i have ever owned, including modern machines. Plus they are going up in value all the time. I also geared mine up slightly for some extra top end speed, no problem.

http://www.birkettmotosport.co.uk/birkettsbikes.htm Nigel helped develop the TY250, what he doesn't know about Yams isn't worth knowing!

What about a TY250Z without the huge bulk? Nigel Birkett makes these specials using the Yam engine but with a slimmer chassis.
  13. The climber didn't appear until '89, the previous year was the TXR, which was air cooled with conventional forks.
  14. Peter Knight, (the Rotax man) 0176 1414106 You can get copies of engine manuals from him.
  15. You need to polish the tail pipe to complete the job!
  16. The '90 model had a white front mudguard and a lilac rear. Like this.
  17. I swapped half my gas gas springs for some lighter ones, seemed to work really well, make sure the plates lift evenly when you pull the lever, before putting the cover back on.
  18. UPDATE, the older style large capacity gearbox required 1200cc of oil. I have the Rotax manual here in front of me. From 1988 onwards (TXR, CLIMBER) these had slimmed down cases which held less oil, between 900cc & 1Ltr, not more than 1 Ltr. I owned these models and remember they were very well built, far better quality than Spanish crap from the same era.
  19. 950cc for the gearbox oil, 1.4ltr was for the wider cases fitted to the older air cooled motors.
  20. Have to agree, the Falcon's seem to be about the best.
  21. So, Scorpa are already 100cc down on the opposition (allegedly), looks like there are going to be some different ways to build a competive 4 stroke.
  22. Oh yeah, sorry didn't see that bit!
  23. Did you not notice this when you had a test ride of the bike before purchasing? What is the difference in power delivery between the Raga rep and a normal 280 pro?

    Swm

Ha ha, already had an engine from Martin!
