I have looked at this stuff at the local store, same type of material and styling as Barbour, for under 100 quid for pants or jacket
http://www.coastalfarm.com/c_outback.html
I still think they stink like a dead rat after a couple of good trials, so don't use them, but for those of you who like that old stalwart smell they may be just up your street.

Comes up every now and then does this topic, trials does survive tough times, as often said, it is the poor mans motorsport.
I don't go for all the hype though, even when in full swing with kickstart, and TV coverage , the long time results have been falling numbers in all areas of the sport.
Cater for the poor man, with a realistic price tag on machine and competing, and you will have a just that! a poor mans motor sport.
Or flash bang big top circus, get rich quick, like the big time boys did to the economy, and you will probably get the same results.

Square peg round hole comes to mind, ram her in she'll be reet.

The grey thingy that has a thick black wire to the plug cap, on 06-08 mounts to the head steady bracket, It also has a thin black wire that connects to the black wire of the kill switch, to test you have the correct wire, start the bike, wet your finger and grip the frame firmly, it should kill the bike, then you know you have the right wire and you can then connect your kill switch, the other wire on the kill switch goes to ground, and when you press the little red button, it grounds the live wire and cut's power to the spark plug.
Yam connectors are normaly bulit type, and the Sherco will be spade type, sometimes the Yam do have a washer type connector for the ground and you will only have to change the bulit end to fit the Sherco.

With todays bikes being designed more for riding sections than long endurance type of events, and the shortage of man power to police the entry to make sure they stick with the same bike all week, is it time for a rule change ?.
Some can and do get away with changing, probably because they have enough sense to use the same type and colour machine as they entered on, as a club rider I know what some of the top riders are up too, but also know if they are on the dodge it isn't going to have much affect on my results and fun for the week.

I can add three more names who I will swear to doing the same thing, should they return thier awards and be banned also, bet there are many others who have been seen by posters on TC that can name a good few more, hell we may be able to get the numbers banned, down enough to avoid a ballot next year.
Well that SSDT turning into a bit of a joke, fellow with the most bikes wins.
-
Geez, many have done it, I have personaly rode down the road with a knackered bike and out of the event, and seen the winner of the event taking delivery of a fresh bike, yes the lad made a dumb move, but if he was able to change the bike for the same type I doub't it would ever of been mentioned.
I have even heared mention of a rider complaining about this incident, and I saw the very rider who complained start a day on a red bike and end the day on a blue bugger, if your going to get after one, then you need to get after them all and check the bikes every day out on the course.

I could go out on the track and ride round the same course as the top MX boys no problem, and I don't even ride MX, bike sales, spectators, and sponsorship make MX a different game, even fat Billybob in the stands wolfing down the double decker can vision himself riding round.
Looking up your own ass while hopping on the back wheel may be a tremendous fete, but it sure isn't selling more bikes, "WHAT THIS SPORT NEEDS IS MORE MONEY AND ADVERTISING" well it's all gone, dried up, Mr pockets got sweet FA for paying to promote his product, Mr Joe public, doesn't give sweet FA if the sport dies or not, which leaves Mr enthusiast, to try and keep the job afloat.
-
Atom, I have to ask, how many trials have you ridden this year, and are your replies based on what you want and think are the best for the sport, or what you here Ross talking about?.
The topic started out by asking the question, which was more challenging to the rider, stop or no stop.
Then it wondered off down the road of which type of rules the person replying preferred, I see plenty of reference to world and British champs, what the youth
are doing and should be doing, but those post are made by old blokes who couldn't do what the young riders do if they wanted.
The truth is, world and championship classes are dwindling to the point it's not worth the effort to put them on.
If only a few can truly master the technique to be competitive at top level, is it not defeating the whole object of trying to grow the sport.
At this time three classes can't muster up the entries of the one class one line championships of the seventies and eighties.
"No stop will die" looking at entries for no stop events compared to stop and hop events, no stop events look to be more popular.
Answering the question with what rules you prefer isn't going to solve low entries at top level, finding a workable solution so more riders can compete without risking life and limb may.
By making rules favor the top few, that is what you will be left with.

I don't think it will be a problem, when they go to the no start rule.
World rounds, ****ing joke, FIM expect an unpaid enthusiast to put on a professional event, pay hotel bill for thirty posing pillocks and provide them a bike for free while they are at it, how long do you think that can survive.
General public don't give a rats ass if the rider can stop hop or pick buggers while going up a ten foot step. If you like riding no stop events ride em, if you like to being able to stop, ride those events, if you want to make it big on the world scene, STOP ****ING KIDDING THI SEN and get a job.
