yeah
the gas gas shop is more equipped with spare (has like replacement everything as he is the distributor for all of canada..) plus hes a cool guy and i think the gas gas looks absolutely gorgeous in the flesh.
I was just wondering if they were something to avoid but they seem good.

This summer I want to buy my very first brand new bike, so naturally since I will be dropping a significant chunk of change on it I want to make sure I get whats best for me.
I can get Betas and Gas gas's
the 2010 gas gas looks absolutely amazing, the beta.. not so much.
I wont be doing any comp riding just trail ridding through the woods and such.
what are your opinions on which bike will be more reliable and maybe handle higher speeds better?
I might be able to get a sherco as well.
I hope I don't tick anyone off with this post
Thanks

Nice! thanks for posting.
But god damn, that has to be the worst song I've ever heard.

I think this thread is going to cost me A LOT of money.
-
thats cool! thanks for posting

not sure what kind of shock it is but its definitely a remote reservoir.

Is changing the fork oil as simple as getting the old oil out and the new in? are there special steps to take?
330 ccs a leg right?
-
ok. thats cool, I meant 06 and onwards
DOH haha
-
what did they do in 05?
I got mine all back together now thanks, just used a old bearing that fit on the outside of the bearing but still into the hole, with a long bolt and several washers. easy once I found the right stuff.
-
In my shock that im doing right now 02 one side has a bump stop so to speak so they can only go in and out one way.
they are a bitch im going to use the press at work to put them in now.

Ive never seen a terrorist ever.
Although I find it ironic that the religious right in america has pretty much started a war with its mirror image from the middle east.
dum dum dum dum dum.
-
that sounds like a great deal to me.
I have to tear into my transmission to figure out where my 5th gear went.
Or I'll just let the shop do it. I hope I get such a good deal on that as well.
-
can't look worse than the new beta
i loved the 07 beta rev 3 such a good looking bike. now it's fugly.
-
ya'll are pretty loyal to that there queen aren't you.
-
you can ride year round where I am (on the we(s)t coast of canada.
-
Last time I was there was in like 94, I think.
-
I wear a full face, because I don't compete or anything and it's safety first for me.
-
Corfu is cool, we stopped there when we went to Kavala through Igoumenitsa.
Greece is my favourite European country, next to Switzerland, provided you stay away from Athens.
-
So seeing how there is a lot of europeans on here, I want to know given the choice where would you move to?
I grew up in germany but am now living incomparably better (ie: happy) on vancouver island. much more free to do ride where ever you want and much better air quality.
where would you like to move to and why?
maybe post pics?
pic of a van island beach on the westcoast trail

Yeah, I'm going to see what the shop would charge for it when I get some money. I'm not in the mood to open up a crank case.
if it is too outrageous then I will do it myself.
-
post pics of your bike please. I wanna see:)
sorry if this has been done or if its in the wrong section I think this one will get the most traffic though.
-
Yeah, I think I'm just fooling myself thinking I need a newer bike to put around on trails.
this will do the same job.
thanks

I got a 02 sherco 290,
I it needs a bit of work still to get it into what is basically new shape, I already got new linkage bearings and it has a new top and bottom end,
but the transmission is missing 5th gear and the rear master cylinder leaks and will need to be replaced.
I don't compete or ride the super tech trials stuff I just go cruise up gnarly hiking trails to go to remote areas (more enduro style riding..) So I don't need the latest and greatest I just need something good reliable. Are the newer bikes that much better to justify the costs or should I fix what I have?
