I did.
Is the bushing or bearing at the bottom of the shock replaceable? that's where most of the play is.
It's as if all the balls broke or fell out (ouch:(...hah)
Is there a convenient kit for the rear suspension linkage bearings on a 02 sherco 290?
Or do I have to go buy them piece by piece. any online retailers that ship to canada?
Hope you don't mind the question I searched, but didn't find the answer I was looking for.
So it is only making a weird noise when leaning to the left. not to the right.
the mechanic sheet says it is internal.
I don't think I'm going to worry about it much since it runs fine and everything when or if it blows I guess It will either get a new motor or a whole new bike depending on how bad it is.
edit: turns out I dont have 5th gear.
or 4th.. one of the 2 tall ones
They go 123 and then its kinda a dramatic jump to 4th gear. and click up again and theres nothin there.
so that would explain the funny noise when leaning to the left.
not like I need to go faster than 4th anyways.
Thanks for the help guys.
well I'm not sure at this point. the motor seems to run fine, supposedly it has a brand new bottom end.
I didn't really think much of the guy I got the bike from though...
I will see what happens when the mech is done with it, I was just wondering if someones had something similar...
my bike (02 sherco 290) makes strange clannging rattle type sounds when leaning over to left while running
has this happened to anyone before?
I just dropped it off at the bike shop to get the carb adjusted and a general look over I mentioned it to him as well and am wondering what you guys think?
Could it be the disc brake clannging about? I don't know, and at this point can't check anything.
happy trails.
I broke my collar bone at the end of may and it is still not healed ( I can feel it move around still in 2 pieces on x-rays etc etc)
I have another check up appointment on the 14th of september, as well as a surgery date of oct 6th if it hasn't healed by then)
has this kind of thing happened to anyone on here? they said it is a pretty rare occurrence but that it does happen.
So from what I am reading here, The front disc on my 02 should be loose and "clanging" around? It's supposed to be like that, it's not broken and I'm not going crazy??
hey guys,
thanks for the great response.
yes i dont think i would get it in 5th on the trails but maybe to get to the trails (if i dare haha)
and yeah if i were to get a 2 stroke i would like the beta 6 speed.
but sounds like this 4 strokes a winner so no need for that
i will talk more about it with the bike shop on saturday and ill see from there.
my bike shop can only get gas gas sherco and betas in and hes a good guy so im gunna support him.
i was almost all set on the beta 4 stroke but then i saw this one (and its a g note cheaper)
thanks again guys.
hey all,
im new here from vancouver island
im looking to get a new trials bike and am partial to 4 strokes.
i will be doing a fair bit of normal trail riding so i am wondering if this would be a good bike to do that with.
does it have a transmission like the beta 4 stroke (where its 3 short ratio and 2 wider ones) would this get annoying on trail rides.. can they still get to a decent speed?
anyone with actual "seat" time on one? how do you like it?
are they pretty reliable?
thanks alot eh
