  1. I have mine on the left. I also have a kill switch redundantly on the right to kill the bike with my thumb. The lanyard is a quick way for me to remove as much ignition as possible when chaos occurs (often for me) Couple of notes: -We have extra magnets that I have made. Always have extras. -I keep my magnet off of the bike so that if it gets stolen they would have to know something to get my bike started. Mag tethers are not common here so most people wouldn't know what they are looking at or how it works. -If you forget or lose your tether in an event you have to wear the one made out of a bra strap and will be called "Nancy" for the rest of the day. -If you throw a fit in the middle of an event and toss your hands up in the air you WILL catapult your lanyard into the stratosphere and will then be forced to ask to become "Nancy" for the rest of the event. (WGASA Jethro can tell you that one) --Biff
  2. WOOT Vegas! Not sure if I should go back there.... --Biff
  3. Darn... beat me to it. I heard Arizona as well. How cool is that!?!? Has there been a world round in Arizona? Lot's of passionate riders there. --Biff
  4. I ask the newbie questions all the time. No worries about that. Its called getting back to your roots. Have fun on the bike when it arrives. No matter where you are in the world this is a great resource. With our combined knowledge of this silly little sport we are invincible. --Biff
  5. Yes because your not there yet. I did a really bad video but my boy Zippysgasgas hasn't told me the team password yet so we will do this with photos. Without the cir-clip and the washer under that clip removed you can't see the problem. Here is what the top hat looks like with the washer that would go under the cir-clip looks like. Now when you remove the clip and the washer you will see that the top hat shear pin is no longer one piece! Now my lesson is trying not to reproduce the failure that i am trying to describe each and every time!!! hahahah oh well. I didn't save the dab but i got props for trying. --Biff
  6. No the top hat is on the clutch side. It connects to the opposite end of the shaft that the shift lever connects to. You can see the slot in the shaft that the pin that breaks slides into. I will try to video it tonight. --Biff
  7. Hrmmm interesting. I wonder how they allow the shift shaft cams through the case then (circled in red). I have broken one of the cam lobes off in a past bikes life. Now i can't recall if i can see the end of the shift drum from the case side or not... Luckily an opportunity to save a dab yesterday will help me find out.... As for me yesterday I do believe that i have also broken the "top hat" which I have circled in green. Of course i was trying to save a dab and well it didn't go as well as i planned. I will try and take a video then paste it on Youtube this week. --Biff

    Trs Bike Unveiled

That would be Gasgas parts not bike. If you have ever dealt with them personally you might not be impressed. Dale is great to work with. Mr snell answers his phone with "why are you calling me?". With that in mind I am still a die hard Gasgas rider who puts a buffer in between me and the parts importer. Or I just say eff it and get my stuff from Europe. --Biff
  10. Sure for most states. It is the select loud states that they probably won't be able to sell to. There are a ton of 2 stroke mopeds that sell here. In Michigan its 15 dollars to road register a moped for 3 years and you don't need a cycle endorsement. There are a hand full of road legal KTM and one YZ two stroke sitting out side of my office right now as personal commuter bikes. --Biff
  11. Good point. I have seen many a spectator become a passionate rider. How do we keep the momentum? --biff
  12. Working on it JR! One of the things I took away from the event this weekend was that there was difficulty but most of it seemed reasonable in the danger category. Seeing most of the pros fail at something with control is much more enjoyable then watching them fail out of control. NETA had a great formula and terrain to back it up. Great work on the sections. I couldn't believe the spectator turn out. There was a fleet of school buses and people everywhere. Massive amount of parking for such a diverse area. I don't know what was used to get that to happen as much as a great website, beautiful program, and plenty of sponsors. Again great work on this front as well. --Biff
  13. I was fortunate enough to hunt Andy down in the press office. Top notch chap! Hard worker this past weekend. Sunday he had camera duty. --Biff
  14. Waoit..... (New england accent intended) are you implying that this is the first two stroke that implies power on each rotation?
  15. If the noise goes away when the clutch lever is pulled its normal. --Biff
  16. KTM Has already made a trials bike. It was called a penton. --Biff
  17. Last year we had a similar rider wanting an E-Start here. First Randone came in and within seconds the starter gear took itself out. Second Randone came in and the battery was too weak so after 4 or 5 kicks a different gear went out. He rides a 125 pro now and can start it very easily and is having fun. --Biff
  18. Rocky mountain motorsports has them in here in the states and they are only $4 more than the standard d803. Its peaked my interest. X lites here are usually $180 on up state side where this gp is only 94 bucks. --Biff
  19. Well I am no expert in this. If that's how it works there then so be it. --Biff
  20. Or the debt they have is extracted from the entity who took most of the money and the new company starts fresh. --Biff
  21. Anybody notice the color scheme of the scorpa these days? Hrmmmm -biff
  22. I am flying in Friday night and out Monday morning. Any spectators coming in from over seas? --Biff

    Boots

I am currently wearing a pair of sidi zero and really impressed with the build quality. They are white and still white which I was worried about. I got the mrs a pair of white no stops stateside and the are wearing horrible for only having four weekends on them. I have three other pairs of no stop that I float between. By far the no stop are the most comfortable but the ankles blow out and the soles keep coming off. Before that I had a pair of novagar but they went through two soles on my brake foot in one year. And before that I had a pair of hebo for many years which served me well. The mrs loved her diadora but they also got old so she has nostops now. I think build quality your best to go garne sidi or formula. I would say the alpinstars are the most comfortable. What it's worth. --Biff
  24. I'll be there chasing raga like a school girl crush. Try the johnie cakes if your going... --biff
