Lineaway is right. Get a new top hat kit but if you want to be sure remove your clutch cover. Remove the clutch basket and watch what you see turning as you move the shift lever on the opposite side. If you notice that the shaft inside of the top hat moves independent of the piece then its a sure thing. If you try and repair this you might resolve the symptom now but eventually you might cause serious damage internally as the internal pieces would become the weak link. In retrospect i have seen other brands break their shafts where GG has this as a fail safe to save the internals. It sux to have this break but its nice to have this break versus the internals. I would keep a spare around if you are going to push the limits. I know I do. --Biff

You probably broke the sheer pin in the top hat. This is in place to protect the shift shaft. Its on the clutch side of the case. Remove the case cover, remove the clutch, then move the shifter. You will probably notice that the shift shaft is moving slightly independent of the top hat that its connected to. The top hat has a flat sheer pin in the middle of it and is spring loaded. If you look at it with out moving the shifter you can't tell if its broken so only inspect it when moving the lever. It saves you a bunch of money and aggravation in splitting the cases. --Biff

Yes none of them can find neutral easily. It requires a certain touch but in the end they are really designed to not find any neutral while riding. Its rare to find a false neutral on a gasgas. --Biff

I accidentally removed my Keihin slide and let it hang while cleaning over a year ago. Long story short my drop needle went into the chain and i decided to move the bike. As an interim i borrowed the Delorto off of my buddies txt 321 for a trials and i realized that the Keihin was the reason why my bike was so snappy. I have the S3 adjusters on my now repaired Keihin and i can adjust as much as i need to. If i notice that its running dirty off idle i just adjust the idle mix and it comes back to life. Keihin is very very picky but many it makes my 09 300 come alive. I have had a Delorto on my last 4 bikes before this one and they are great but don't give it that snap i am seeking. --Biff

Stick with that. Trials people are good people. There can be exceptions but don't focus on them. Focus on the positive aspects. --Biff

Steve, If some one wants a trophy with a title whats keeping them from making their own. I know that it gets under the skin but in the end a some just ride for trophy others just ride to ride. The insurance thing is troubling I agree but in the end it is about trust. You can control what is under your control but you can't control all. This is a double edged sword and it does not need to go private. The west coast in your country deserves as much attention but if you cast them aside all it does is encourage the separation. Again this is outsiders perspective. I can tell you that outsiders perspective is that politics turns people away from the sport. I have seen it happen and it turned me away each time politics causes interference for me personally. I am going to go ride in the back yard now. The lights are setup and bugs are missing me. What I can conclude out of this post is that no matter what suspension it will have it will not pass the test! TRS has a mythical frame that will somehow support the weight of Raga. It will be filled with led and the trials community will scrutineer it to death. On that note to maintain status quo let me start a new focus of scrutineering. Why does there have to be one sanctioning body? Not every country has one sole sanctioning body. Heck I know of some states here in the US that have multiple. AHRMA, ITSA, NATC are all sanctioning bodies and some don't like each other as much as you two love each other but they survive in their own way. People are on bikes and as long as that happens we should be ok with each other. Canada is a big place boys you don't have to be nice to each other but having a street battle online isn't doing either of you any good. One thing thou that I find cool is that you are both passionate. That stands for something. Steve when is your next event in Ontario? I might just have to come and pay a visit to see for myself. I think one of the FIM indoors in coordination with the X-Games and you would gain interest. How many of you carry a flyer to the next event in your vehicle? How many of you also get comments from people at the gas station about people who have seen trials on TV or Youtube but that's it? Just food for thought. --Biff

I tried too. IRC gave a few of us some "new" to try out here and this year alone i have had two go from fine to nothing in seconds. I am going to put my IRC on the TY175 but I think i understand their issue. It seems that IRC is using three ply for the whole tire where as Mich and Dunlop have three ply only at the tread and let the side wall do its job with 2 ply. I think that as the tire flexes it pulls the bead with it. With 4 psi i can get the bead to move just by standing on the side wall. Who knows if they will fix it. I thought they really hadn't changed much but this has become a big issue here. Enough so that people won't get them because they dont trust em. My spare wheel set has a beat up xlite on it and it has saved me several DNF's just because of IRC. I prefer Dunlop because they are cheap and i am not good enough to determine the difference. My beading tip has worked for the past several installs which is put cut two by fours between the beads and let the tire sit in the sun for the day. Use a little armor all or dish liquid and wala your on. No bead foam ring needed which i have but haven't needed in a while. --Biff
