  1. The last world round I checked was in 99 in Watkins Glenn. It was no stop and the last portion was a huge rock ledge at the top of the hill. I had minders throwing kickers in when my back was turned or so they thought. Most got a point just in the setup and it was really hard. I only had two cleans. I had fived someone because of their minder repeatedly entering the section to add kickers so I fived the rider and said get out of here. There was a big stink and in the end the FIM sat me down to discuss the issue. They also accused me of being too tough but the week before as we walked around with the FIM they were joking about how easy our trial was. In the end the FIM took the five away and gave the rider a clean even though he did not ride the section. They said that its because i removed the kicker after it was placed there... by the minder.

I will never check another world round. I observed the rule and it wasn't upheld by the governing body. Now i just spectate and make noise. Its a better fit for me.

  2. I have no very recent experience of credit insurance or the very similar contract payment payment guarantee schemes but very shortly after the start of the bank led crash such insurance became very difficult or impossible to obtain, this worsened the recession because firms were not willing to enter contacts, particularly for exported goods without such insurance.

Oh my. By history and nationality i am not supposed to identify bad run on sentences. I believe we are encouraged to speak like this here in America. So i think your trying to say that what has happened shouldn't have. Then your trying to expand with something about you not having experience on the subject. The banks are at fault and there were no contracts. Right?

  3. TC posters,

look at how many bike specific topic options there are on this website. look at how many have folded or are out of business. have any bike brands come back from the dead? are there still enthusiasts for all brands regardless of financial health? big and small companies can fail. after it happens every body can see why but as its happening its really really hard to determine what the right corse of action is.

Divorce is like this. You can generally see it for what it was after it has happened. Now the focus is how does gasgas get back into the dating scene yet not reproduce history. I am biased but i feel for what they are going through.

Im gonna go post an add for a non bipolar not greedy spanish financial expert now. one of those take home to momma type of accountant next door types.

  4. Who said anything about selling?  You been talking to Mrs Zippy?  sounds like something she would say.

Buy newer GasGas as main trials machine and keep the 2003 as a back up/get my friends interested machine.

Oh yea... I know Mrs. Zippy and how well you like spending money... I like how you haven't said when you would do this upgrading or buying of a new machine.

So they emptied the factory.... where to?

  5. Thoughts on the He...cat there cope? That's a tons of power and speed for the market to digest. If any parent buys their kid one and it goes like we think it could go I believe the automotive world would have a fit.

Still it looks like a fun thing to toy around in if the suspension holds up.

  6. Old chain link, file out the pin hole square so it just fits on the shaft then burr the edges over to stop it falling off, be careful though as you might crack it if you hit it to hard.

    Ooooo good idea.

You know i actually make my own silicone casts to make my molds. The other day I came home from a long day of work and said didn't i want to cast something? That was it!

    Zippy your my guinea pig.

  7. James you are at least right in that there's no money in it so perhaps Vertigo have some chance as that looks like a rich mans folly which is fine and they are actually testing it instead of selling a POS that's untested.

I ride a Honda it's quality is miles ahead of the ***** the Spanish knock out,as a betting man I'd be happy to bet you 100k JG are not around in 5 years time.

You can keep your additional weight and perceived quality for that 100k... Pesos right? As a betting man myself I figured....

You've established in about a dozen posts that all of us who ride fly by night "POS" bikes are wrong. Where is rothmans honda? Love the bike but appears to be the same business model by the same company with different money arm.

So bike manufacture vs bike manufacture:

Bike one: Designed and built by those who live eat and breathe the sport backed by generations of experience.

Bike two: used as a promotional arm of a Fortune 500 company who wants another trophy at any cost.

I don't want a trophy bike. I want to ride a bike that wins me trophies and have been riding them for years.

PS I'm thinking an Eye-Talian (in my native NY accent) "POS" touched you in a bad way on an amateur track day in your past. Show us where it touched you.

  8. i think my orginal point is being derailed here. thats common in a compeitive sport. i gotta go wash my bike after a long weekend of not being that cool.

congrats Andrew you have my attention. Pat and Norm keep raising the bar. As for the rest of us get out on a bike and appreciate what we have rather than point the obvious flaws in our sport.

    see you all out there.

  9. Az National last weekend was an eye opener for me.  I checked at our National here in CA a couple years ago and this was my first National since.   Andrew P. has come out of nowhere in 2 years and all excuses aside, this young man has put in some hard work.  At 16, he is clearly on his way to the top and in my opinion, he is just short of it here in the US anyway.  I wish him and his family all the best in their quest for a position at the top.

Four or five years ago in Indiana we so called "Experts" were warming up for our first event of the year. We were all green in the season but were trying to show off to each other based on what we had done for the winter. Along comes this pre-teenager on this lil gasgas 125. He did his best to keep up but i think he rode only one or two events in the US. Since then i have ridden several events with Andrew and hung out with the family but i have always been encouraged about his drive and level headed-ness.

That is one of several families that I have been gifted to be a part of in my Trials experience.  I can't count on one hand since my youth how many times it has happened but that's not the point. We are here to not only compete against ourselves but to build upon each other. I wouldn't suggest discounting anyone in the sport, amateur or professional, because they might surprise you some day.

Not a direct reply to your post lineaway but to point out that we all have experienced something that you have an it's special for us.

  10. We are just getting the full size Transit here in the US this model year. We build them here in Kansas City in a plant parallel to one of the F150 plants. We have had the Transit Connect here now for the past two generations and they are selling pretty well. The last version of the Transit connect here was built in Turkey as well and the quality was good but those were simple. No Kombi versions. The newer Transit connect we get here is built in Valencia Spain and we even get the Kombi version. This replaced our full size E-Series here which were cheap and plentiful. You can get a ton of stuff into them.

Ford currently builds the New Transit in, Kansas City US, Kocaeli Turkey, and Inokom Malaysia. The old transit is still built in Asia in several plants but on demand.

Turkey is an all van factory at this point and they have been doing it for a long time. The factory is very clean and modern compared to a lot of other automotive plants. They love them in Eastern Europe and Russia. They have a hard time keeping up with demand at times.

Glenn i think the NV is an interesting and reliable vehicle but I just have a hard time getting past the hood. Its a titan mated with a midsize transit...

I would comment on the promaster but well i don't want to get on Copes bad side. :)

  11. How cool is this!?! I love the idea of a rotary and worked on several as our race car in college was an Rx7. Maybe not enough torque for our needs but when your flywheel out powers the power plant then you can make up for some of that.

Take away the apex seals and let the thing breathe!

    Thoughts?

The idea is not a new one but a very refined one.

  12. I don't agree that it's a rich persons sport. I know a lot of riders who spent a ton of money in the sport and get frustrated that they don't get what precieve as value.

I am not going to say that Andrew doesn't have opprotunity but I will say that a parent who tells their kid that they can't ride if they don't do their school work is doing the right thing. That has knocked Andrew out of season trophy contention. It effected Andrew and made him want more.

If I had a business which specalized in international integration and wanted to take part in a sport which requires international participation why wouldn't I sponsor or fund my child. For Aires I think this is a win win. What if Aires was the international sport participation coordinator for those competing? What if Aires was the go-to company for the manufacturer who wants to expand their export base? I am in no way paid or sponsored my them but at a high level it just makes good business sense. TRW did this as well you know.
