  1. Hmmm i dont know know. I can only relate this to the automobile.

I have only seen a few examples of where leasing was cheaper than buying.

I think Pauls first mistake was that he drove it off the lot. Always loose money that way..... The next guy buying the used goods will definetly be getting the better value. I would have probably called lemon law on this one.

    hahahahahahahaha....

  2. if the float height is totaly wrong on the standard carb to the point that it pours from the overflow whilst running would this cause excesive smoking on start up and very slight smoke when running

So as I understand it the standard carb is over flowing right now?

Sounds as if your needle is not seating fully if this is the case.

Remove the bowl and push the float up by hand while it is installed on the engine and turn on the petcock. See if you can shut it off yourself.

The other carb could definetly cause lower rpm issues. If the jets and needle swap over from the standard carb i would do that as a starting point. A bigger carb may mean less venturi (sucking of the fuel from the bowl) and this would be the disavantage to lower end. At higher rpms size starts to not matter with venturi. Size of the carb can be a limiting factor to how the engine breathes at higher rpms. Other limiting factors are port size, valve size, exhaust size, and air filter size. In other words there are a lot of factors involved here. Experiment but try not to change too many factors at once. Start with Carb with old jets then put one jet in at a time to see what works for you.

  3. Zip Zip,

Do not trash out that very cool HONDA! :D

    Ride the Sherco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Super Sam!

    Are you riding in this?

    If so what class?

I know that my fat gut should have a slight advantage over your skills on the mountain bike. hahahahaha

Yes that was a challange! I have not thrown all of those trips to Rays away... (i hope)

  4. About a month of ride time twice a week and my 06 spring is still working great! I went back to dextron because the type f made it slip just a hair when cold and was getting worse. Now I have no slip again with merc and two weeks of riding. The clutch basket is the same. Order the 06 spring and go to town. We just put the lipse in an 03 280 pro. No problems to communicate.

  5. I use my bash plate quite a bit and have the same thing happens to me. You will need to put it in a press and recurve it. Place it up there and eye ball where you need more clearance. A tip is when putting it back on. Put the bolts by the foot pegs on first then put the ones up by the cylinder on last. This way if you have not bent it enough the bolts by the engine will help pull it together. I have seen engine cases broken from people who dont rebend their skid plates. Nothing to be alarmed about but you will need a buddy with a press.

  6. Got told that xispa gone back to factory with bikes cos cobos not happy with something, dont know what but i think they want it right before they bring em out

  7. Hey Biff, Saw your dad sunday. We had a goodturn out for ourfirst ride.Your buddys dad was there he seemed to be having fun.LaterJR

Yeah Jim he told me he saw you guys. Thanks for making Peter feel welcome. He is acutally my landlord here in michigan and an old trials riding buddy. He bought that bike down in TN and we brought it back in the trunk of a car. Pete talked to me for about a hour about all of the awesome terrain in munsville. You guys need to make a 3d post about your events! 3d is my roots and i want to keep up with what you got going on.

Joe does need to move to expert and i think that we need to help him hone his skills. I have to say that i can only teach him very little more than what he knows and he is willing to do the work and then some. The kid never quits!

  8. Biffster, Have you ever riden in a nascar? Or any type of race car? Pretty scary. The late model dirt cars and sprint cars have to be the wildest to drive. I think it's cool that Danica finally did it. Drama or not. Hey and check out the behind the scenes pictures!!! :o She is multi talented!

Yeah I have taken the "Richard Petty" experience down at indy. Scared the crud out of me. I am not saying that it was easy by any means. If it were we would see a lot more people out there doing it. In college I was president of an scca team running solo 1's and 2's along with wheel to wheel (www.broncomotorsports.com) and i grew up near watkins glen so i am a huge fan of road corses. Just a personal preference. Danica would kick my A... in 2 loops. My arms would fall appart by then. :o I just think that she gets too much press for being a high maintance sailor mouthed hot chick...

  9. Good Event on Sunday.. Thanks to all the Bent Fenders who put the time and energy to make it happen.

Perfect weather, almost a little warm but 3rd gear and a little extra speed in the mud bogg and it made a real nice mudd layer to block sun rays.

Congrats to Jim G. for a solid win in the EXP class!! That was some good riding! Also To Mason D. in the INT class, he was pumped all the way home..

Thanks for comming out. I had a lot of death threats for making the whole mud bogg thing but every body was too tired to carry out.... Tell Mason that Mitchell is gunning for him. Now that he has a proper gasgas underneath him it should be interesting!

  10. I think it's a good way to cut costs, team NM have been doing it for years , fly out to an event saving both time and $, while one guy drives the bikes out. even sharing with one person cuts the fuel bill in half.

    I'll see you there.

Ish if your part of team Nm your rig can not possibly justify any sort of cost saving efforts..! Team New Mexico has all of the factory support teams put to shame....

    Sam,

Allas my mind is made up. Nationals this year are out of the question for the ole biffer. Besided if you didnt see my efforts after yesterdays event i have some work to do getting up on the splatter that I built. I am quite sore today....

    --Biff

  11. I knew that you all loved my mud bogg section so i made a new one of those. :o

Biffs new splatter wall will be used after the event while consuming copious amounts of brew ha ha...

I have gone over and over and over the intermediate line not paying any special attention to bob cap and keener... We will allow them a ride off after the event.

We have a new tree!!!! Muuuu hahahahahahahah.

11 sections are built. Pray to the rain gods as the hills will be lovely with out the moisture.

Sleep well, you will need it.

    Chao

  12. Ok, Who's motor was this then ?? Not only is it towing a full length trailer, it even has a 3 bike rack on the back :o . Geeez, I wish we had roads like yours.

  13. Section 4 on Sunday was nearly impossible for all classes. I had the best seat in the house in my opinion.

Here are some from the junior class. The yellow and white ribbon were at a point where no press could get through. Sorry about the shoddy camera work. I had to dodge some things and hold my ballance. I didnt bother looking up many of the riders i didnt know.

Lets start with wiggy and webb....

And off to some unnamed riders because i was lazy...

Did any body catch a shot of that hand print on the back of Bou on Sunday?.... If that was his girl friend she has big hands....

Ok i have to go home and eat. More to be posted later on tomorrow.

    Enjoy....

    --Biff

  14. Yeah i was standing towards the falls from that point.

I would have said hi but i dont know what anybody looks like.

Its like finding an undescribed needle in a hay stack.

Thus the problem with the internet at times.

I was wearing a red polo shirt with a trials tread up the front.

    --Biff

  15. So my landlord / trials riding buddy moved to upstate new york over a year ago. In the process he sold his 02 sherco 2.9. In my opinion no love loss there. He has been bumbed because he really wants to ride.

We were all in Tennessee for the world round the other day and he is getting more and more excited about getting another bike. The local dealer had a bike around but was a little slow in responding to his need for a trials bike right now....

Bottle run extreme a dealer who made the trip to Tennessee had the most adorable looking 2006 gasgas pro.... It was like a puppy missing its home.... The price was great! $3900 and the bike looked extreemly clean...

"Here is your chance to get a real bike Pete!" I stated

"But how will we get it home if I buy it?" Pete asked me.

"Your hanging with Biff man! There is no problem when your in need of getting a bike from place to place when your hanging with Biff!" was my response.

So step 1 buy the bike.

Step 2 take the bike appart.

    petesbike2.jpg

Step 3 put bike in company car trunk.

    PetesBike.jpg

Step 4 drive back to michigan....

    Easy enough.

Again another great weekend in Tennessee...

  17. Ok some more completed.

  18. After no sleep and getting back to Detroit at 3am on Sunday I have been working hard at getting some videos online.

More to come later on today. I am uploading these while at work. I have some Awesome footage of section 4 on day 2 loop 1. I could feel the exhaust on Ragas bike I was so close. Here is what I have so far. More to come..... Sorry about the shoddy camera work. My attention kept getting pulled away.

Edited due to miss labeled video.

Many many more to come.... Enjoy!

    --Biff

  19. It was awesome weather! No rain, no bugs, over cast with a breeze.

Dougie had a hard day and seemed to be missing simple things.

I was really impressed by Dabill.

Tomorrow should be just as good.

I have about 40 vids i will upload from today this week. I am on a borrowed computer at the hotel having a blast.

COPE! we need to finally meet.... Andy where are you staying?

Call the cell 2695992449 if you get this.

Craig aka city trials gave me a sip from the smage champange..... sooo sweet...

    --Biff

  20. ok ok, so what does this prove! That the world finally has ONE woman that can drive :rotfl:

It was only in a circle.... She was probably using her gps.... "Go half mile turn left then go half mile and turn left...." ;)

Glorified Nascar... Put her in an F1 then see what happens. I think that they keep her around just to see her Bi%$# out the other drivers... Drama :banana2:
