I too would like to try a 125..... I currently run a '99 sherco 250.... Its a good bike with plenty of power but i reckon due to my pants riding skills i would be better going for a 125 or a 200. I thought maybe a beta 200 cause i am about 14 stone and think a 125 might struggle to get me to places..... All of the previous info however suggests 125's do the buisness. If you had to choose a lower cc bike what would it be and why? Cheers Iain

The clutch cable thing is nothing important, it just happened to be against the engine casing when it overheated...... The main issue is this bloody rattle from the engine... To me it sounds expensive.... I shall await the replies and then guage the cost of repair..... Cheers Iain

Howdy folks, The other week (SSDT week) i went out for a buzz on the '99 sherco...... She's not been used for a while and i had the usual clutch problem of it not engaging... After 5 mins of riding around the clutch started working so off we went..... Until we were going up a forestry road and i noticed a loud clatter of the engine in fourth gear.... I eased the clutch in and give her a rev and the same clatter was present.... Shortly after this the clutch gave up because the engine overheated and burnt out the clutch cable..... Downer. The bike then revved itself up before i eventually cut it. I took the top end of the engine to check the piston and barrel... All is ok and no play in the bearings. I then had to leave my bike in my mates capable hands for the rebuild. She is now back together and starts fine but stills has the clatter.... I was thinking logically after this and thought, engine overheating and clatter could be a u/s water pump..... Anybody had a similar experiance or can anyone offer advice on avenues to go down.... All advice is welcome but i will have to pass it on to my mate as my bike is in Fort william and i am not.... Cheers Iain

Well i am in total agreement..... My riding gets no better on computer games.... although its not so painfull in the game when you wipeout :op

Hi Marcus, I got my stickers today........ Nice. Once i manage to get up the road to my bike i will fit them and will supply a couple to my mate for his gasser cause he just blew up his engine and it will make him feel better. Thanks again Iain

I reckon with a wee advert for trials central on them they would look cool..... i dont know how big i would need them for you to relate a cost.... i will work out what i would like and PM you once i get a chance...... Hi Jamie, i try and get up at least once a month... I am going to try to get up more often this summer though. i generally go out with one of my mates who has a Gas Gas 250...... We go to a variety of areas when we are there..... Laters Iain

Hey Everybody, i wonder if someone can help me...... i have a bultaco/sherco 1999 250cc. The last time i was out it started cutting out when it should be idling. Then it wouldn,t start. i eventually got it going on full choke. Since then i have taken the fuel tank off and cleared it, emptied the float chamber on the carb, changed the fuel filter then retried it. It still wont idle, but it will run on choke. It sounds fuel related to me (clogged carb jet etc) Anyone got any ideas please..... Many Thanks Rez
