I have put some on my '00 Rev3 with no problems. They were available as a Beta part with the new clamps for '98 Beta Techno's, and are only available in red. I suspect that they are Domino handlebars. The total cost was NZ$260 including the clamps, so should in theory be available from the UK Beta distributor for less than 100 pounds. Bloody good handlebars anyway - I haven't even bent them yet, and I do crash fairly frequently......

I put the alloy '99 Techno kickstart on my old '94 Techno - fitted straight on and worked a treat. It also has the advantage of being a bit longer so helped make starting less effort as well.

I had a look at the new Honda 250cc MX bike yesterday and was really surprised by the height and size of the motor - it seems tiny. Compared to a '03 Yamaha YZ250F the Honda is at least 2"-3" shorter because of their fancy single overhead cam design and tappet cover design. I think that this would be a good thing if Honda were to base their trials motor on this engine as the centre of gravity would be a bit lower, and it would give some more scope for making the frame lower as well. Its a bit hard to see from these photos, as the '04 Yamaha engine has changed a bit compared to the '03 Yamaha, and the photos are not completely to scale. Having seen the two bikes next to each other I was surprised to see the difference.

Is it still a 160cc motor???? I'm a great fan in the 'less is better' way of doing things, however I still think that the 199cc Beta is still underpowered enough to not get me into too much trouble. Any ideas on how the '200' Beta compares with the '200' Sherco?

I don't like Australians - but they're still there!!! They will most likely be produced anyway, why not wait until you can try one as Ishy says. If you have a lot of preconceived ideas then you are setting yourself up for a bad experience.......
