Hi, I just bought one from my local supplier, the sizes on the packet are 20X28X6 and the product ref is M02002806R23. It only cost £2.45 +vat which seems quite reasonable, hope this helps

Looks great just wish I could have been there this year, well done to the organisers
-
I would try a Rotax dealer. I think it's the same engine as used in SWM and Gori bikes
-
Not sure if your allowed to stop in this thread or not Ross !!!
-
No clutch use is the way forward, unless you stall
-
Any idea of when the next one is and where, I'm surely not the only one wondering this :-)
-
Hi Ross, just type Alta Suzuki into google images and hey presto a couple of pics appear
-
I agree with everyone about the whole day, brilliant, and yes Ross stitches ok head not in such a good way today though. Not sure if it was the lager or the chilli sambucas last night lol
-
I never said anything about bringing eggs Tam, read the post carefully and see what I meant. See you in the morning
-
Spring forward fall back Tam
-
Hi Ross, didn't know any bikes I(or anything else for that matter) had 'ingnition' Get a better spellcheck lol
-
Either grind or file the gap in the clamps a little bit wider and then when you tighten them they will close further and grip the forks.
-
I hope to be there Tam, just hope I don't get my eggs smashed for going out on my bike at Easter instead of a family picnic

It is possible to take the seal out without removing the seal without taking the shaft out. Lay the bike on its side and take the lever and outer casing off, the if you have a sharp implement such as a scriber you should be able to pierce the old seal and then wangle it out. Patience is needed but once it comes out a little bit you can get something into the side of it to make it easier. once its off you can slide the new one on and use close fitting pipe as a drift and thats it. Hope this helps

I always go by the old adage that '' If it ain't broke don't fix it ' My Beamish Suzuki is over 30 years old and is still on standard size piston although I have had to fit a couple of new ones over the last 10 years due to disintegration problems but it's still not overly smoky and has plenty power. So unless you are worried about performance etc I would just leave it
-
Twinshocks are not meant to have brakes that work and if they do they are only meant to retard forward motion not to stop the bike. and as for using clutches whats all that about. If you want to ride a period bike ride it in a period way. That's why they have comfy seats so you can sit and paddle !!!

Hi GASGAS249
I don't actually need any spares at the moment it was just for future reference that I wanted to know but thanks for the information
-
Hi, I've just got a Mecatecno Amigo for my son and would like to know if anyone could give me any technical info such as engine type and spares availability. Thanks in advance
-
As far as I remember the last 247's were 1979 and after that they made the 248 which had the wavy fins like the 349's, when it came to 84 it would be the 242, alloy swingarm, hope this helps
-
Sounds perfect for me, is it near Wamphray ? thats south east of Moffat

I would think all parts are common with any Rotax motor. If you put a search into a well known auction site with the engine type (number), you shoud be able to get the parts you rquire in the US. As far as a flywheel puller is concerned I just use a normal 3 legged puller which I have ground a little bit off the bottom of the legs. Remove one leg to fit it in and then re-connect it to pull it. To hold the flywheel I find a place that doesn't foul anything important on the stator with a screwdriver and jam it in place. Probably not recommended. You could make a tool by drilling some wide flat bar with a wide hole to fit a socket through and two threaded holes to line up with the edge of two of the slots and then screw two bolts through to hold it in place. Hope this helps James

not sure yet Ross, don't know of any suitable (easy) trials coming up, would like to think it'll be this year though

Finally got it running turns out it was the condenser, I hadn't checked that as it was a new one but as soon as I swapped it the bike started 1st kick despite having sat for about ten months. I had left it sitting at the back of the shed since then after getting nowhere fast. All I need now is some decent weather to try it out.
-
I was looking forward to be there but as I put the bike onto the trailer my clutch cable broke. I then spent the afternoon online ordering a load of spares ! Don't know how I'l be able to ride it now wth new parts and less excuses !!!
-
Certainly hope to be Tam bike running fine, no back brake and a broken front brake lever, but I'm hoping its a no stop trial ha ha.
