    Kill Switch

The standard switchblocks are still in place however I used the diagrams you linked to troubleshoot. All cleaned and watertight now. Not sure exactly how that black cable was broken. Maybe pinched between the tank and frame but highly unlikely considering it's position. Fixed now so no sleep lost. Front shocks working lovely after fresh oil. Back ends got a lot more pop after its service. Kill switch works. Ready for a good ride Sunday.

    Kill Switch

Multitude of factors. Spade connectors within the connector module were a little slack and not making a solid connection. Black wire from the coil had broken inside a rubber sleave under tank and water had gotten into the switch and gone scummy over the plate. For the record one side of kill switch connected to black. And either yellow or earth the other side killed the spark.

    Kill Switch

That's how I assumed it would be and I'm just about to test it like that. The black wire should be coming from the coil I've no idea why it was plugged into the yellow and for that matter how it was even killing the engine previously as the yellow should be a live feed. il post back after testing. Was too late to try last night.

    Kill Switch

Though I'd post here rather than starting a new thread. 05 125 with a lenolli mag kill switc. It packed up on me at the last trial(p****** down with rain. I don't belive the switch is at fault. Cam hear it switching when the magnet is close. Traced it back to the connector under the number board and cleaned all the contacts up. Still nothing.. Plugged 2 wires into the connectors as per the kill switch and completed the circuit. Still won't kill the engine. Any ideas where I should look next lads Was wired black to black and brown (kill switch) to yellow (bike)
  6. I'm guessing those figures are the other way around. looks like I nudged the cable tie when I measured last time around as there's a fair discrepancy.. from seal to bottom yoke no weight 184mm static sag 160mm Race sag 129mm to bottom yoke 24mm static 55Mm race don't go stripping anything down on my account boss. measuring mishap made it look worse. oil change and re measure Before I worry about anything else. Thanks for the measurements though it's nice to have a comparison.
  7. Hi Tony . Thanks for the replie . Nice to know it's an 05 for DefInite I've got a strip down guide for these but from an 03 and different decals.that threw me. After checking the part list they seem to be identical. that's going to be helpful At some point. The forks seem to function as they should damping and rebound but a little slow if that makes sense. with me on the bike normal riding position I had at least 3" of travel below the seals.(can't remember exact figures) Would this be considered normal. (Don't have much experience) Judging by the condition of the rear linkages I doubt the forks have had an oil change in some time. A job for this week.
  8. Is the header stainless steel? If so I wouldn't use mild steel wool. Learnt this lesson on a ss kite buggy. you end up with small amounts of mild steel in the ss which speeds up oxidation and makes it worse long term.

  10. had her about 6 weeks now and sure il have a lot of questions as I go on. I'm pretty sure she's a 2005 but the previous owner wasn't too sure.. New to bike mechanics so a learning curve to climb this year. Stripped the rear shock and linkages yesterday and caught them just in time. Dog bones bearings were close to seizing.freed them up cleaned and repacked with grease and the back end feels like a new bike. now it's time to turn my attention to the front shock.shock . not sure who made them and can't find a service manual for then. Seems to be working well and no leaks but sags quite a lot with my 85kg.. not sure how best to proceed. Going to change the oil next. What oil do people recommend?. Is it worth putting spring spacers in or should I just look at stronger springs. I try and add some pictures in the next post cheers guys.
  11. Made it to my first trial Friday evening. Had a very tiring and stressful week at work and wasn't very focused to start wit . 5 sections 4 laps forward 4 laps in reverse.. I managed to clear every section at least once and took 5 5s 2 due to navigation issues lol and 3 on steep uphill to downhill turns.. spent too many years on push bikes and forgetting rear brake is on my foot. Hence I washed the front end out a few times. Some silly mistakes but learnt a lot and gonna do better this Friday if I can make it. 48 points total. Hardest part for me was working out the sections.
  12. First time I dabbled in this sport I had a 315 250 while I had no trouble riding it I always felt a little overpowered as a beginner. After a 5 year break I picked up a 125 sherco and have really meshed with it. At 80kg the bike has no trouble lugging me around and I'm more confident to open her up fully when I need to. After today I think I need to adjust the rear shock a bit.. Maybe a little heavier than the previous owner.
  13. Bought a monty 20inch a few months ago to get in shape ready to buy a trials bike. A week layer I picked up my trials bike lol. Couldn't wait. However it does allow me to practice balance and hops etc in the garden it also helps build muscles in the right places too.. Made some log pallets in the garden to pedal kick across. probably good for training muscle memory too. Very similar motions to lift the bike
  14. I've always got two or three in my van for work. Nice to know there handy when I'm riding just in case.
  15. Google maps and most sat nags allow for inputting lat and long coordinates. Won't require an app and a sat nav will display your lat/long at any given location ie parked by the entrance gate. Any standard hiking gps will do the same and I'm pretty sure gps phone apps would too.
  16. Going to be looking for an Ossett for my 4yo soo . His brother will have it when he outgrows it. Wish I had the chance to do trials as a kiD
  17. Got my first proper go today.. Very impressed with both Milton Buzzards practice ground and my Bike. Was a bit worried the sherco 125 would seem a little underpowered after my previous 250 315 But not the case. Plenty of poke to lug me up and over. Had my confidence with logs and rocks after a mishap in a log and mud covered stream a few years ago now. Thankfully I seem to have got over that and managed a few perfect double blips over a few rocks and logs. Looking forward to meeting other club members next time I'm ouT can't make tomorrow's trial unfortunatel .
  18. Managed to find the time to adjust the bike setup to suit and have a little Play around the garden. It's not big and stuffed full of kids toys for an added challenge. Kept my feet up. Steering with my feet came naturally though track standing before a tight turn and inside peg pressure as I let the clutch out felt a little odd. Boots and helmet arrived as well as my club membership. Everything looks good for a proper play this coming weekend. Looking forward to testing out Milton Buzzards newish playground.
  19. very nice defenatly more suited to a trials bike though:D im jealous. in response to the helmet. one there's vision as has been mentioned before. two. the other diference to a full face helmet is the back is cut higher to allow more movement of your neck for looking up or behind you. when i think of all the crazy stuff i usta do on mountain bikes and bmx's without helmets im really glad ive got my trials helmet
  20. got a copy of trials 2 looks like the same game just tarterd up a bit 2d scroller. wish someone would make one along the lines of the motoracer version in 3d again they could make a cracking game with todays physics engines
  21. When i 1st got in to trials last year i was searching like mad for a trials game i remembered playing back in 2000 but couldnt find it anywhere just loads of the 2d games im sure a few of you have seen but today completly by accident i found it its on motoracer3 gold usually found in bargain bins in comp shops or blockbuster deffo worth a look if your in to that sort of thing
  22. got my monty bout 7 months ago took a little getting used to but glad i went for a 250 2t think if id brought a 125 ida been looking for the 250 within a month when i found my feet on it. just give it time and ya gonna get used to it . helps for me that im ten mins from my practice ground and can use it 7 days a week
  23. same here stand goes well past the safe point gonna mount some kind of braket on it try and stop it going to far forward fingers crossed
