took part in a trial yesterday and taking off in deep mud to get up a hill and the chain come off and got tangled between the flywheel and the frame, after this hapend i heard a clicking noise coming from it, we thought it was the chain rubbing on the tensioner but after more riding i found that it was only in 2nd gear that it made the clicking sound :s ..... worrying.
were not sure what it might be, have had thoughts that a tooth might be missing but not sure :/
Any body else had this before with either of the gears?

Hi, im 17 now and im thinking of moveing up from a 125 but im not sure what bike would make most sense, a 250 or 290 sherco.. and what are theyre main differences? is it just the power delivery? and also how much of a bigger step is it from a 125, its been ported and blueprinted though but i feel could still do with some more power in places

after the michelin tyre runs out i buy IRC tyres, i find theyre good in the mud ... dont last as long as michelin though

i dont think a 125 cc would be powerfull enough,
to tame it a bit you could just fit a slow action throttle and change the sprokets around

I had fat bars on my 04 sherco and because of the clamp i ahd to use they were higher which made it alot more comfier

when i was a school boy mx rder i used to go golden barn raceway, u used to be able to pay and ride there but that was a few years ago, im not sure if it still works like that. . . professional track and a little one for kids
its in sussex though, dont know the website but i supppose you could google it if you were interested

was thinking of getting my 125 sherco on the road rather then buying another bike, wouldnt really use it for long journeys, just to a locally on 30mph roads, i allready have passed a CBT so i wont have to have a specific bike to do that on
the law is that i have to have a maximum 125cc with no more then 33bhp
does anyone know what the sherco has? its 2008

the weight would probably make a big difference.. although i havent had a go on an old bike, apart from my dads bultaco but thats un-hopable

when theres loads of grip and its dry id use 2nd if its reasonably steap but if its like propper sloppy id use 3rd and get high revs and then try and get the best run up i can....
Thats on a 125 though
best way to find out would be to try it in the gear u thinka nd then if it dont work just use anotehr until it feels good enough.

i got my first bike when i was 9/10, was a lem 50cc motorcross bike, i wated one as my dad had a yz 490 even though that thing would beat me in 1st but anyway, i had it unitl i was 11, when i was 12 i was going to get a honda cr85 b/w but me and dad thought about trying trials biking, i got a 2004 sherco 125, now i have an 08 sherco 125 and a 50cc gielra enduro bike on the road, (50cc because the law's stupid and im only alowed a ped ). . . and my dad sold teh yz 490 and didnt ride for a while, well he has a v-max but thats hardly an off-roader, now hes restoring a bultaco sherpa that he bought as a whole thing for

i have an 08 125 paxau tuned sherco, 'tis more powerful but could just fit slow action throttle and bigger rear sprocket. . . would tame it

mastic may work, but youd have to slice the mastic when you want to take it apart again. . . might make bit of a mess aswell :s. . unless you have a steady hand

last week i bought a 2008 paxau sherco 125 and im just wondering what differences there are,i know that the bike is tuned and is a bit more powerful, what has been done to achieve this? and i know that the wiring is different
what other differences are there
