  1. The two day WTC being held here in Australia in a week or so, the cost of a 2 day entry pass was a very very reasonable $26 Au, about ten quid in your money
  2. When you change your oil it is best to have the oil at operating temperature so it will flow more freely. I do crack the cover for an oil change and carefully measure what comes out, have mostly came up with 290 ml. Not a GRO fan, either gear oil or 2t. and use 75w light gear oil. How did the bikes go at the Easter Trial ?
  3. Three Irishmen are sitting in the pub window seat, idly chatting and watching the front door of the brothel across the road. They see the local Methodist pastor appear, knock on the door and quickly go inside. "Would you look at that!" exclaims the first Irishman. "Didn't I always say what a bunch of hypocrites those Methodists are??" No sooner are the words out of his mouth than a Rabbi appears at the brothel door, knocks, and also disappears inside. "Dere's another one trying to fool everyone with pious preaching and silly hats!" They continue drinking while roundly condemning the vicar and the rabbi when they see their local Catholic priest knock on the brothel door. "Ah, now dat's sad," says the third Irishman, "One of the girls must have died."
  4. Would have to agree with that on the first two lads. To have the result determined on this one section really is frustrating for the riding skills these boys have, could the other sections have been nipped up in areas that would have made it more than a one section Trial ?
  5. Funny how we all can see things differently... my first time view of Alex's rear wheel slip to lay him on the bank, I gave him a 3 for the knee -leg supporting slide on the bank with his foot momentarily dislodged from the peg, similar as our rule states one foot down and sliding that foot is deemed footing more than twice. Then looking at it a few more times the observers call of a 2 could be an excellent call if the exit had of been well executed. That all went out the window with the stop at the the end with a definite 5.
  6. Peter, it was the rubber sensor ( blue and black wires)you remove on the side of the air-cleaner box prior to filter removal. Steve.
  7. [quote name='Nigel Dabster' timestamp='1329038635' post='294341' I actually believe when riders start off that a five every time they stop momentarily mainly through nerves is a bigger turn off. Agree whole heartedly with this. Lost count of the times I have been at a section where a rider has stopped or has a wheel wedged and quite stuck. With a little encouragement and guidance most will get themselves composed and on the move again and hopefully learn from the problem and not ride off in a huff for copping a five when they have managed to finish the section.
  8. Hi Digga, Have found Shell has by far the best quality fuel around our area in both the Trials bike ( 91 unleaded),and high performance (98 Premium) motors. I use 91 unleaded, definitely no ethanol added fuels.. The choice of oil is very important and Motul would not even be on my radar after the gumming up problems it produced with other new Trials machines I had used it in. Motorex Cross Power fully synthetic is recommended by the Aussie Ossa distributor and have had no problems in both the 2011 and 2012 models.. Only problem I have encountered was after an air filter clean and replace on my 2011 Ossa. After only 20 minutes of ride time it developed the same symptoms you described, missing, backfire and stop. Removing the plug it was BLACK and very sooty. What had caused this was the pull through rubber toggle when replacing the filter was not 100% seated and was sucking air. When this oversight was corrected it fixed the problem. How was the Trial ? Steve.
  9. Looking at the clip of Alex, his flick around at the first corner 4 to 6 seconds in, skilful as it was, would have him well and truely pinged for a five with his 12" roll back on landing it with observers over here..
  10. Just check to see if the 250 pricing is not a typo....6099euros would seem more the go.
  11. Hi Samy, The gold Coast Convention Centre on the 16-17-18 Feb. Will be a Jotagas 300 there for sure.
  12. Great report, I'm sure they will be snapped up quickly where ever they are offered. The professionalism that Jordi bought to Trials will be presented in not only looks but performance in a machine he has put his name on. We are having a motor cycle show on the Gold Coast next weekend and I am looking forward to seeing one or two of them there. Our Aussie distributor has been doing his best to have them here available for viewing.
  13. I think you will find any tinkering to the idle or air flow by introducing a different air filter will confuse the programming. Talk to your Dealer for more info.
  14. I did read the post by 2plus10 that Andy has deleted and thought this guy must have some agender to put such a rubbish offering forward.
  15. It is really best to try all bikes to be sure they suit you and what is comfortable for your riding style. Good to see your happy with your newy. What did you do with the Ossa.
  16. Nelson Mandela before he got outa jail. (no sustan)
  17. You picked the best. On both my 2011 and 2012 they take quite a few hours to loosen up. Couple of things I have found worth doing now, Remove front and rear disc bolts and apply some lok tite. The seam on the kick start needs a good tidy up with a file as it may shave the graphics. Enjoy
  18. Hi sweetie, with a name like that I'm wondering if you might be available next time I'm down your way ?
  19. That cat would be a brillant Minder,(gardener) observer wouldn't have a chance.
  20. A doctor from Israel says: "In Israel the medicine is so advanced that we cut off a man's testicles; we put them into another man, and in 6 weeks he is looking for work." The German doctor comments: "That's nothing, in Germany we take part of the brain out of a person; we put it into another person's head, and in 4 weeks he is looking for work." A Russian doctor says: "That's nothing either. In Russia we take out half of the heart from a person; we put it into another person's chest, and in 2 weeks he is looking for work." The U.S. doctor answers immediately: "That's nothing my colleagues, you are way behind us....in the USA, about 2 years ago, we grabbed a person from Kenya with no brains, no heart, and no balls....we made him President of the United States, and now....... the whole country is looking for work.
  21. The downward spiralling trend in Trials seems to be world wide, dont think the Stop / No Stop is going to change much. The WTC is of no relevance to the vast majority of weekend riders, mealy a showcase of what the modern machines can do in skilled hands. Wether they ride Stop or NO Stop, the positions at the top will remain much the same. I see here in Australia our Trials hierarchy follow what ever the International body dictates whether it is good for the majority or not. They have a belief that an Australian world class individual ( if one ever is to materialise) may be hampered if our countries riders are not on the same page as Tony Bou. The problem here is that there has never been a rider that has the talent or the commitment it would require to even achieve a top ten finish at any division of world level, but still they follow the leader and not do what may be best on the home front. Countries right around the world that have a strong Trials base should look at what it can do for the growth of the sport at home. If the trend here in Australia is a guide and reading many TC postings the growing support of the older machines is where the new and older returning base of riders is the strongest. There are also some black clubs emerging over here that are getting a very strong following mainly because of the straight forward older form of come ride and enjoy without the high costs of ACU licences, high entry fees and over the top officialdom that has crept in. The mention of world class bicycle Trials star converting their talents to moto trials as Tony Bou has done, may see there is little rewards for the dedication required to achieve and then maintain the skill levels of Bou and Raga. That along with little recognition, very poor media coverage, not much sponsorship and a playing field that can be manipulated is not a strong inducement anyone.
  22. Students at a local school were assigned to read two books, 'Titanic' & 'My Life' by Bill Clinton. One student turned in the following book report, with the proposition that they were nearly identical stories! His cool professor gave him an A+ for this report. Titanic: cost - $29.99 Clinton: cost - $29.99 Titanic: Over 3 hours to read Clinton: Over 3 hours to read Titanic: The story of Jack and Rose, their forbidden love, and subsequent catastrophe. Clinton: The story of Bill and Monica, their forbidden love, and subsequent catastrophe. Titanic: Jack is a starving artist. Clinton: Bill is a bull**** artist. Titanic: In one scene, Jack enjoys a good cigar. Clinton: Ditto for Monica Titanic: During the ordeal, Rose's dress gets ruined. Clinton: Ditto for Monica. Titanic: Jack teaches Rose to spit. Clinton: Let's not go there. Titanic: Rose gets to keep her jewellery Clinton: Monica is forced to return her gifts. Titanic: Rose remembers Jack for the rest of her life. Clinton: Clinton remembers Monica for the rest of his life. Titanic: Rose goes down on a vessel full of seamen. Clinton: Monica...ooh, let's not go there, either. Titanic: Jack surrenders to an icy death. Clinton: Bill goes home to Hilary - basically the same thing.
