1. i thought - (could be wrong and im im not consulting the handbook) you can ask the observer for a 5, but if the clerk of the ocurse asks you to ride the route and you don't its a 10 IIRC ???? rabie
2. its a great sldie show - but i can see how moby get anoying after a while!!! rabie
3. i said that before you'ld said it - geek too rabie
4. we have expert, inter and novice at centre level but at combine level we also have expert-B for those "trapped" people. dunno if such a national system would work as you could be really good down south and yet not have ridden any/many rocks while all you up north ride is rocks rabie

Off Work

current acu polciy is no longer covers personal accident insuracne - only death, limbs, etc and off work for more than 6 six weeks so you can't get anything off the acu mate for that im afraid - from what you say rabie
6. us ACU types do come in for some flack......... John Collins ran a good one down here at Witley's - got my ticket for trials and enduro at that one rabie
7. thats what we do - sorta we used to buy the numbers 1-99, 100-109 , etc from Stacey's but now ahve started printing our own - eg Sidcup & DMCC Jack Thompson British Bike Trial 2003, with number and colour of route (white or red) such as cheers - nice to know how other people run their events rabie
8. ahh so you don't hand out number at the start for riders to use !!! we have programme with names next to numbers and the riders collect their two number when they sign on - one for the front of the bike and one for the rear / back of helmet edit - so you "Normally" / "used to" ride like my avatar is with no number ? re nationals and such - i take you run "closed to clubs" and then what "open to Scotland" (of some kind) and then "open to all ACU" and then "internationals" say ? makes much more sense now rabie
9. sorry silly southerner here - what are you lot doing which requires your centre (the SACU) to be issuing fixed numbers (i guess thats what your on about ?) rabie

11. as in orange arrows we get them off Stacey's as we use loads for enduros - the welsh two day use a different supplier aw we were considering them as they do different colours for event direction from the roads we also have used number plates and proper sign written jobbies rabie
12. we don't ue them for trials but i think our enduro ones come from stacey's - i also think gordon davis does as well rabie
13.
FFS
everyone sign the above link its so simple even the laziest of you can sign it!!! rabie
14. Oi ! - just because we don't have rocks - just mud and woods....... rabie
15. don't go there !!! if you want a chat about it i'll give you one off the record and via PM rabie
16. we did propose some time ago when Geoff Wilson was there - that they get people to renew on their birthdays - hence spreading load lot of good ideas never got in ....... rabie
17. do Suzuki build a small engine ??? would it be economical to develop one and would there be a buying of sufficient units to justify the R&D ??? NB the cost of the 250 4 stroke MX...... rabie
18. i have to admit the ACU site is better than it was the idea of the clubs getting their own page doesn't entirely appeal to me - i mean i don't keep my club's one up to date - it just say go to http://www.sidcupmotorcycleclub.co.uk/ IMHO the clubs that are interested enough to have made the effort to edit their page have got a simple website somewhere. the only good thing is where the centres make some effort to explain the local scene eg http://www.motorcyclinggb.co.uk/club/SOUTHEASTERN its good however the vast majority of clubs don't have "net aware" people to do this kind of thing........ oh well....... rabie
19. for club level (ie centre and below) your normally scraping the barrel for volunteers and it would be very hard to get them to be trained or anything I'm mean I've picked up observing as I've gone along and some of the above is enlightening reading ! while ishy's idea is nice, the practicalities are unrealistic for the sport at this stage while from a riders point of view observer differences are frustrating it seams very hard to change when we are struggling for volunteers. also the constant changing of rule (or even if the rule change took place some time ago) confuses people (and so does observing a pre-67 one month then modern the next ) rabie
20. a lot of info on the south western scene can be found on the "chat and help forum" here - its mainly an enduro site but has sub forums for all sorts inc trials - people down that way should be able to put you on track TMX is also a good bet but the very beginner events may not be advertised - your probable best off phoning one of the centre contacts to find out about trials in that centre if you get no joy with the above website rabie
21. at our centre round class for everything (pre65 to modern inc chairs) 27 - Gas Gas 19 - Sherco 17 - Beta 10 - Montesa 7 - AMC 7 - BSA 6 - Scorpa 5 - Triumph 4 - Greeves 2 - Yamaha 2 - Ariel 1 - Bultaco 1 - Fantic 1 - SWM 0 - Aprila 0 - Honda 13 -"others" our secretary of the meeting has table of makes for the last 17 years in the programme rabie
22. ahh - i lack the latter (ridding in events) - hence I'm still at the bottom rabie
23. Suzuki and doing any more joint projects with Kawasaki after the 250f, they didn't get on too well and the 450f is being developed seperatley.......... rabie
