Thanks.
When i bought the bike i was given a box with some bits in it. Just had a look in the box and below is what is there, not a lot. I'm interested in your thoughts on the hand drawn diagram of the ignition. I think looking at the parts the carb has had a smaller main jet and the ignition retarded. Looking at the parts picture does anyone know what all the washer and nit bits are for. The paper work picture is minus the Bill Of Sale. It was bought from someone in Wiltshire for

Thanks for your entire info guy's you are genuine enthusiasts. The worlds best mechanic I am not my tool box does contain other tools than a hammer and bolt cutters: . I'm genuinely looking forward to casting a more detailed eye over this bike and will be posting my findings, together with some pictures as the spanners get to work. Your advice will be my bible. On the 25th May the bike will be ridden in the Forest Trophy Trial, this will be possible its first trial in over 10years. There is a lot to do. I

I'm interested to know as well.
Does anyone know how i can fit a set of fat bars and who is the best person to talk with when buying. I'm also interested in new set of footrests and hangers because what i'm looking to acheive is a similar Handbar-to-Footpeg height as a Beta Rev3. If anyone knows the answer i'm very interested as i'm due to buy a Fantic 240 tomorrow.
-
Yes I am considering letting you ride my unpurchased Fantic 240, but only if you agree to replace any broken parts.
.....don't hear many offers like these on TC, but hey i'm such a nice guy.
-
just to cheese everyone off he's changed his mind and is now looking to sell it
-
Does anyone know what kind of comparisons can be made between the Fantic and say a Beta Rev 3 or Gas Gas pro to the following. And then what improvements can be made to the Fantic to make it feel more modern with out breaking the piggy bank?
1) Brakes
2) Power
3) Weight
4) Suspension
5) Riding postion

Seems more people are noticing the friction between AA and ND posts. The friction is 'definately' getting worse and whats more the stirring on here by others does add fuel to the fire. R2W (you idea heath) suggested a sidecar trial but the problem with this is AA may punch ND before the bikes started. Does anyone know if ND has a bike? AA, if you wanna ride a trial against ND you can borrow me Beta..... remember the forest trial and how i was a little OTT with yu, just think of all the fun you could have on here if you won- if you lost i'm not to blame thou.
Just to say I'm not biased to AA before anyone says so from the ND camp! AA has a gift of being polite but very insulting to ND, which does make me smile keep up the good work who ever is the winner.

Ishy, i find this very hard to believe with out any facts.

i found my 4rt was no good in the mud i tried for 9months but couldn't get it to work. riders who have gone from modern 2t's to any 4t slid down the leader board in all classes in my centre. its a god send when someone i can't beat buys a 4t cos i will beat them on my beta 2t.
i've own the sy250 and agree with all comments they are grippy in the mud. the reason for why i think they are grippy is the way the power is delivered. unlike a sherco 2t or gasser 2t these bikes spin easily, whereas the scorpa and the beta are more similar with engine power. the scorpa in my opinion being slightly better in the mud but its the 2002 - 2006 bikes which are the best. i've ridden an 07 and its got less grip than my 07 beta in the mud. the best answer is to buy a 125cc or 200cc 2t they don't spin because they've not got the power. in the case in sticky mud bike power to push the gears is what works, which brings me back the the sy250 and beta 250 2t. for nadgery wet sections a 125 or 200cc with a 12 stone rider. for deep sticky mud a sy250 or beta 250 for a 12 stone rider..... and none of the top south eastern elite riders ride 4t's.
4ts are good on rocks if i lived in a centre with rocks i'd buy another 4rt. the beta 4t doesn't look like its got much top end power i'm not sure why but they do struggle on flat out hills. the 05 sherco's are smooth, the 08 sherco's are fierce and the scorpa..... dunno looks nice i guess.

I'm surprised doug did so well. i recall bou saying when he moved to montesa how light and great the 4rt is compared to the beta. its only a matter of time before doug gets his 100th win to have this result reminds me of doug's rides back in 1997 (on the move up) i'm now thinking the beta is a lot better than what i thought at wtc level. i'm also surprised atom done so well on a beta. yes i'm a beta rider but i've no brand loyaty the beta is an old design and heavy but you can't argue with this result.

events in the south east you'd be lucking in the rainy months to not be dragged into or out of the parking area. doesn't a trial start from when you leave the road going onto the field seeing if you can park without getting stuck. i've had my toyota van completely sideways flat out to get to where i want to park, its great fun to do and watch, never stopped a trial in the south east unless i'm mistaken.

up date : is the guy who was selling is now thinking about keeping the bike and taking up trials - what did i say wrong!

I very little info on a potential bike i'm looking to buy, but am seeking some advice. The bike is the 240 (model) does this mean engine size and what might be its year of manufacturer? Its been totally rebuilt and in the past 8 years it been ridden once max twice. I know this because when the guy rebuilt the bike from the ground up i had a ride of it and since then its been in his garage. I was thinking of offering him

Excellent interview and putting himself under a bit of pressure too.

thanks for all your replies.
I can see i've a long way to go and many problems to overcome. My own clubs committee will need to agree before any of my ideas are to go forward. My venue's will be three new venue's currently not in use and must be over 100 acres per site(bit of a tall order) but this is something i want for this is new in my centre and new land will attract more riders. I may limit the number of riders, and noise testing of bikes i'll be speaking to friends in Enduro circles for advice. I see one of the most difficult areas of this type of event being the course. The enduro boys should not have an advantage nor should the Trials boys. I like the sound of free for all in the sections as riders can ride the section as soon as they get there so to stop queueing, but the poor observers will need easy sections to observe.
so i guess i can only say 'watch this space' my first two important hurdles (if they are hurdles) are my club to say yes and finding the land.

fit a swear box to the chair and every time one of them swears at each other they have to put a quid in the box, the only thing is the size of the swear box, any ideas?

Hello,
I'm looking into holding a three round championship which would have enduro bikes and trials riders riding in this competition together. The event will be speed related, with sections (riders will be able to walk the sections) and riders will be timed to see who is quickest to finish.
The sections will be marked as per the trials marking system (TSR) with a slight difference. For example if a rider were to put his/her foot down in a trial once then this would normally be a one mark loss, the difference is instead of a one mark loss like in a trial the one foot down in this competition would result a one minute time penalty added to there overall finishing time. Like wise with a two feet down its a two minute penalty and so on.
So would the ACU provide a permit and insurance and what would be the costs?... and what type of CofC would i require?
thanks,

Does anyone know where I can find the calendar for the Novogar championship and which rounds have an easy novice route?
