  1. I'd go into the shop and speak to the person you bought the bike off. Then i'd start by saying the date you purchased the bike. Then i'd say your having some problems with the bike and tell them what the problems are. Next i'd say you was unaware of these faults when i purchased the bike and that your not happy. If they say bring the bike back in for a check over great they will know what to look for and what concerns you have. If they say they are not interested and sod off i guess then you can get a little heavy with them and threaten as above. Be polite and factual and don't forget to say what you want as a resolve.....best of luck.
  2. I removed the spring from the rear brake and he's using the brake a lot more trying to do skids. He stands up a little but more so when i get my own trials bike out to copy me. We got a puncher in the front tyre today, a thorn (not that big) went straight through the tyre. The tyres are very soft you don't need levers to get them off and they're like bicycle tyres which you can almost fold up and put in a box like ordinary bicycles tyres are sold nowadays. Its a shame there's not a better (more robust) tyre around, I did see the above links to tyres but they are MX tyres and may cause a few problems with over stricked scrutineers, so any further tyres suggestions? I don't feel the brakes need upgrading he only weigh's 3.5 stone and the bike stops okay, the chain sometimes comes off, it does come off too many times it keeps stretching and need constant adjustment, although bearing in mind the bike is ridden in woods and over small tree roots along tracks and not on grass fields. The battery cable between the two batteries is same diameter as the neg and pos cables so nothing i can do there to improve battery life. I still think the front suspension is to hard i'm 14.5 stone and even with my weight it requires me to push down to get any movement from the front end and my son only weigh's 3.5 stone.
  3. My 5 yr old has the 16.0. The suspension both front and rear is very hard it doesn't move when he's riding and i can't see any adjustment to the front? He rides using the front brake all the time because its easily to pull in and the rear brake isn't that sharp, i'd like to reverse this as he's come off a couple of times grabbing the front brake to sharply. Battery life is an issue and i'll have a look at the cable thickness. The standard tyres are not that good but he's not riding in comps so i'll wait until they are worn out. He likes to ride sitting but he hates standing up anyone have any encouragement tips?
  4. John, you make so very good points, but you didn't say (unless i missed it) what happens if a rider falls between sections?..... Last Sunday I rode a trial and came off on some black ice on a 25 foot bank in a section. i did walk the section but missed the black ice. Scorpa 3, I don't know if this can be worded into your regs by a solictor or someone....i'm thinking of a clause in the regs saying something like "riders are not permitted to view the course or sections and ride at there own risk knowing this".....not forgetting your seeking an ACU permit with insurance so might you need to run the event under a different governing body perhaps.
  5. I've rode the odd couple of long distance trials on a trail bike and i too wasn't allowed to view the sections. However there was queuing at each section and i did see the sections from afar before i rode them, but didn't walk them. Not sure is this answers John's point?
  6. The fattest guy i see riding a trials bike, and this is a conservative guess looked to be a good 25stone. the bikes suspension had bearly any travel and he was sweating buckets and only done half a lap on a 3 mile course. are you fatter than that? ....no disrespect off course. i'n 14.5 stone and 6 foot

    Video

If i were the observer i'd give him another try, the guy standing to the left put him off
  8. you riding the SEC this season ashley needs to lose the crown.
  9. Joe Baker was entered on the T-Ride and i too am wondering what happen to the T-Ride? AA, your comments on Browny and how good he is, and you to BS are you sure he's our countries next super star i was looking more at Dabill and Wiggy to carry the flag?.. Not doubting chaps but wiggy and dabill have been snapped up by TRW which i thought was a better deal then Browny on a Beta.
  10. WW2 stuff, it may interest the legend i've got a small collection of WW2 video's and DVD's.
  11. My guess is clarkey may have a large collection of baywatch mags hidden under the floorboards but the collection has got so big he needs the extra shelf space?
  12. lastplacebrad, i've had no problems. my son is 4 and wears bicycle protective clothing when he rides over the local park. Staberlisers are fitted even thou he can ride a bicycle without them. The only comments i've had are the bike looks very nice, and dad i won't one of them from passes by. Some of your points which concern me from old Mr Parkie are minimoto's have petrol engine unlike your Oset. I would have pointed out bicycles can be ridden faster than the Oset and would pose the same danger, if not more. Remote control air planes, Dogs running free, Kites etc..... If he were to have a view on these and third party insurance his comments would i suspect have been "no comment", I suspect you was singled out as having too much fun. Third party insurance what is Mr Parky an expert on accident claims i think not.
  13. I have it on good authority the T-Ride will be entered in the Tough One enduro and the bike may well be fitted with enduro tyres. Below is a paragraph which i found interesting from the Full Report below. "Greg (Scorpa T-Ride) qualified for the NIGHT SHOW. An evening event, style American, organized by the Frenchman Eric P
  14. I was wondering the same question. I've not seen a T-Ride in the flesh and i'm having a bit of a guess with my answer to our question . I used to own a Mont 4rt (equivalent to say the Scorpa SY-250-F) The 4rt has a similar engine to my current 250 crf enduro bike (equivalent to say the T-Ride). The power on the 4rt was good but not as powerful as my crf, and the crf has more weight. The T-rides horse power would be closer to that of the Scorpa SY-250-F by looking at the engine but has more weight than the trials bike. So......my guess is the T-Ride would perform the same as the Scorpa SY-250-F and not any quicker, even thou it may have a little bit more power than the Scorpa trials bike. One further question, can the bike be fitted with enduro tyres say a 130 rear tyre? Would be nice to have an answer from someone in the know.
  15. Update; My crf250x is now road legal and went for my first ride today. Some good news and bad news. The battery is knackered and the bike kept stalling at slow speeds this was very fustrating, and the bike refused to start in gear when kicking it over. On the plus side it wheelies off the throttle in first gear and fly's, a lot faster then my former yamaha tt250. I fitted road legal tyres which are more road than enduro and refitting the standard honda exhaust. The bike came with DEP pipe and the noise was a joke. I'm going to ride in long distance trials next year but i don't see many crf's on the road and riding these comps? The digital speed i fitted needs calibrating i was apparently doing 130mph today!

    What Is It ?

I returned to trials after a 25 break and my bike back then was a air cooled TY250. On my return in 2000 (foot and mouth year) i tried a 90's RTX and the conclusion was the TY was the better bike. By an off chance i popped over to my parents house and found the TY was still in their garage even after i was told the garage had been cleared. So i rode the TY in club trials for about 6 months and then sold for a 315 mont, which if i were you would be the bike you may want to look at as an old 315 mont is still a very good bike and cheap. My thoughts on the RTX are echo'd by Hillary they are poo.
  17. Good idea and i seem to recall Graham Jarvis had a limited edition bike sherco for winning the SSDT. i say any national event in the UK won is enough for a Beta Special Edition with a St Georges flag.
  18. North Kent area or Bromley to be a little more precise, can i ask why?
  19. nice site, and like the quality photography.

    I'm Back

The headline of this thread caught my eye the posts are first class entertainment what with the fighting talk, bets, who's the man and who's gay - not sure about the gay comments thou. Ringo and City Trials may the best rider win, any news on a date of the competition? Anyway, thanks for making me smile I had a really crap day at work and reading all your posts has cheered me up no end. Cope i have a paypal account but whens the big day and what about you riding?
  21. I'm an employee. I see salaries and the question 'what am i worth' easily answered. that is to say i took the job on in the first place so i can't complain. I can't stand employees who are 'victims' and everyone else is wrong that attitude s4cks. I have worked in many different industries and have resigned on a couple of occations because the extra work/duties that were not in my original job discription were bestowed upon me for no extra money. But...managers have the right to screw as much work out of me as they can and if they didn't then they're not doing there jobs. I've never asked an employer for extra money they pay me what they think i'm worth and i respect them for this. However do they know how to manage employes expectations of them? Do they listen to the employees, some shout (employee) others are quiet and if they managed better by interacting more then staff would not leave because they would be aware of the problems around them before they happen. Often managers sit in there ivory towels and bark commands, have zero respect for there most valued asset there employees and then they wonder why no one gives a s4it about them or the company. The worst thing of all is 'money' and its all to common to find a pay rise is offered when and noticed to quit is handed in, i think this is an insult to an employee and have I left a company once because this practise was addobted regular by the management. In my line of work i'm customer facing, i manage my work and enjoy my new career and would take any training offered. If i worked for a company for 18years i'd like to think even if i decided the managment route were not for me some respect from the managers and a better understanding from them to me on what my goals/ambitions are within the company has been noted. some individuals are 'not' born leaders and others are (i'm not) and managers should see there employees as valued assets rather than a nother body working at a desk or machine. on a lighter note, every year i change my working moto and for 2007 its 'ask not what your company can do for you but what you can do for your company!'. thats my ten pence worth
  22. modern two strokes by all the manufacturers have far to many fault problems ,but surprisingly their four strokes machines don't. i've read countless owners with 06,07,08 2t bikes complaining. the four strokes bikes and especially the sherco need to rid us of any faults and at
  23. My son see the above video and got very excited, but then got upset when i said its bed time . there is a large box in my garage which says 'Oset' - he's being really good at school and stopped putting orange peel down the toilet and spitting water in the play ground, he knows there is a bike riding on him being good at school and home and these last few weeks he's top of the class .
