  1. Some smashing pics in there, thanks for letting us see them. One concern, I starting to see an affy lot of picture with Big John's feet still on the pegs.....how many are there, I thought there was only one.....
  2. most early CCMs were bsed on B50's, If i remember so were these...Prof??
  3. Not likely Jamie, this one will be legit, these are very sought after babies these CCMs , I remember when they first came out, amazing sound. Keep an eye, this guy want a bucket load for this one.
  4. Git....I wish, I was thinking how much beer that would buy in May.
  5. How many wtc's did eddy lejeune win on a Honda???? How many Yamaha wins were there???? Think that pedigree speaks for itself
  6. Grippiest Bike - the one with the best rider on it........maybe why Dibs finished where he did in luxembourg my own experiences - grippiest ever ridden RTL honda, pity I couldn't handle what it found, The beta gets me all the grip I can handle now though. Maybe that's a big part of it, being able to handle the grip the bike finds...
  7. You can't have it...your missus will tell you you can't afford it.......mine just did !!!
  8. Ive seen these go for more in a far worse condition, at that price that's okay upper end of what I'd pay but okay. Reading some of your posts on numerous threads majestyman I really wonder about you some times. Without doubt the RTL Hondas were some of the best trials bikes ever built, that tatty air cooled mono is an exceptional machine and with the base that's there it wouldn't be tatty for long. if you knew your stuff a bit better mate you'd know that. Why do Honda's go for so much, simple really, they are some of the best bikes around, RTL's were exceptional, TLR's are still some of the most sought after twinshocks around and as for original Seeley's, sky's the limit. Perhaps the number of threads and posts in the Honda Forum might give that away. Oh and yes if I had the spare folding stuff I'd seriously think about it.....
  9. Subtle as ever Gaz.....but right, you cannot throw twinshocks/classic Brit bikes into Novogar/BTC anything like that. To me the whole point of these championships is creating a level playing field for everyone who wants to compete therefore to throw these old bikes into a modern aimed trial is plain dumb. If there is a demand for this kind of championship and people are willing to put the round on then why is there an issue, bottom line is how much work the organisers want to make for themselves in separating routes. Sections need laid out to suit the bikes not the riders and if you take 10 marks off the winner and 60 off last place in the class then you're pretty spot on I'd say. Reading through the thread I think you're way off the mark majestyman, there is a series and a route for every bike regardless of age and it appears every standard of rider and as long the clubs put them on don't see that we should complain no matter how many turn up each week.
  10. Oi, i don't need your help to get into trouble matey, anyway he doesn't like the French.......I've heard rumours but wouldn't like to say just don't let him near any of that wierd hooch, the UK and the US have had great relations for years, don't want to spoil it...
  11. He did, with a few"interesting bits" attached, Bernie spent a week or so with Jimmy in Sorn before the Scottish, nice bloke....
  12. Jamie, Take a look at the Pm i've sent you, might help d
  13. jamie, it's been removed from sight, no one can see that anymore... D
  14. Annoyed, looked at a few pics I have of Chris Sutton yesterday but couldn't find any with the dodgy Tache, knew he'd ridden Monts back then but...ah well. maybe there's a quiz out there about dodgy taches on trials riders.....Prof????? NEXT.....
  15. Herpes - A Scousers Wig
  16. I can't see Vesty in there, wrong shape of chin and I suspect he's the only Finn that most would maybe recognise apart from Tommi Ahvahla and he would have been about 10......... Apart from Yrjo's brother Anttoni I can't find information or remember names of any other Finns around that time, stumped.....
  17. Okay last crack at it Tried tracking down the Montesa Team over the early 80's the riding gear gives that away perdominatly, It could be Curt Comer, American rider but lets go for Charles Coutard, he looks suitably Gallic....
  18. OTH, i 've a feeling the crash of the Bultaco factory had a lot to do with it. Certainly Mart started the season on the Bultaco but switched early to SWM, my programme says Bultaco as well....no doubt The Prof will fill us in later
  19. Yeaaahhhhh John rode a Lochaber National trial not long before the Scottish on the 125 Bulto. Poor begger rode round that day with Messers Young (Senior) and McMeechan...Baptism of fire in Scotland with that pair in their heyday......I was observing, poor bloke looked shell shocked
  20. Right...getting Pi$$ed with this now..... 1980 1. Bernie Schreiber 2. Martin Lampkin (John Reynolds we've established I hope) 3. Manuel Soler The cunning link - all three were on Bultaco's works team at the start of the year and successivley jumped ship, Soler to Montesa (hence the Mototenecia riding gear that only the works team had) Mart to SWM and lastly Bernie who moved to Italjet not long after the Scottish which Vesty won on a Mont. As to the bonus...looks like a young John Lampkin first Scottish aged 17 on a 125 Bultaco??????? Slow day in the Met office.....
  21. A young John Lampkin perchance the first batch pretty much as Gizza went for, trying to decide which Montesa works rider it was, Gorgot, Carlsson or Soler...Carlsson obviously wrong OR Schrieber Martin Lampkin with John Reynolds Jamie Subira
