  1. And apparently there is a local "gang" trying to find the thug to give him a "make over" ...all Scots I might add. In all bar very few moronic cases, I think most of us were disgusted by that...
  2. Okay, Had a wee look last night when I cleaned her after the weekend. No flywheel weights that I can see. White throttle body, I think thats the quick action one, I probably wouldn't know the difference anyway. Suspension: Mines is "heavily" alterted to cope with my substantial physical problems........I'm a fat git...so preload turned up high both front and rear, back end stiffened up a bit more on the compression damping as well, seems to work okay, didn't bottom out over the weekend but its still nice and pliant, Tyres don't know what's recommended especially with a tubeless rear however I've got a 5 in front and 7 in back, again seems to work okay Can't think of much else
  3. That's not nice Mr Bigfoot........
  4. From above: The "English Sun" and the Hitler/anti German stuff a few years ago round another wendyball tournament, we all do it, not just the Scots Every country has a few nutters who take the banter too far, it's always the same. Similar situation around the Welsh and Rugby, best mate is Welsh and holds the theory don't care who wins as long as they beat England, basically, don't tar us all with the same brush. Gaelic was outlawed, like the wearing of Tartan, Scots carrying weapons, etc, etc as part of the treaties around the 1707 Act of Union between England and Scotland and following Culloden, 1746, the language and it's speakers were ruthlessly persecuted. I have no personal gripes with English people, I married a woman from an English family (the accent fooled me ) but there are times when the old, historic rivalry comes out whether you like it or not. We are not all the same
  5. First trial on the Beta on Saturday....fantastic. Could tackle things without worrying if I'd be able to get sapres for anything broke!!! great fun, really enjoyed myself
  6. Sat listening to the reactions of Saturday's wendyball game after a trial. (Scottish classic weekend, Trial sat afternoon classic scramble sunday)..one group of scots listening to our left and a big English contingent to our right. I bet analysing the cheers and groans was much more fun than watching.... Can't see the excitement in wendyball, big bunch of overpaid prima donnas who fall over a lot and cry when things don't go their way...
  7. the factories are maybe seeing the benefits that Honda/Montesa have gained by having a recent top line rider kin Amos heading up their development. Hope it works out for Marc, he seemed a different character in Fort William this year not the grumpy aloof tirder he appeared at the top of his career but funnily enough he seemed to be enjoying it, hope it works out
  8. Hi chaps, Engine/Tranny oil for a 250, best suggestions....what's best to use 10/40W or something like that all suggestions welcome. Ta D this has probably been here before, just too lazy today to look back
  9. Any I had a hand in in years gone by, based on 4 laps of ten as was the norm "at home", we'd aim for three toughies that would challenge everyone, three easyish ones that even the real dabbers could have a good go at and the other 4 in the middle, reasonably straightforward for the better guys but might pull the odd mark but hard enough to challenge everyone else. Always seemed to work okay I suppose it depends how many you want to take off riders during a trial. Personally I don't see any point in taking any more than 10-15 marks from the winner and then again you don't want you less able riders losing so many marks they want to quit. Fine balance needed with this but and it's a big but, you make a huge amount of work for yourself laying out half a dozen routes for a trial.
  10. Thanks for all the replys so far.. So would Sandifords be able to confirm 05 or 06 if i contacted them with a frame No ? H.. Hughie, Would think so mate, they are the importers, you can cetainly check frame nos on the Beta site..you going to Thornhill???? Cheers Donald
  11. How much innuendo can you get in one post.......
  12. way you ride it won't matter .... Got rid of the gasser yet H, D
  13. Nup, won't change it, still love strokers and am on the look out for a nice Pre 65 project, c15/b40 or a cub (but don't tell anyone yet, Mrs Slapshot will kill me if she catches me even thinking about that this soon!!!!). Apart from that, you always need a bit of innuendo on here as well
  14. Jake is sitting with all the ticket applications matching names and any other information with TC forum users, weeding out any undesirables or those who've slagged Andy and him off on the forum could be a quiet place Hawkestone...
  15. WWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW Just been out to play on the Beta. That thing is amazing , I don't think in all my years I've ever stepped onto a bike that's so easy to ride. Power delivery is so smooth, but when it needs to it comes in hard, grip is superb and the suspension is out of this world. Point it at something, roll open the throttle and it'll climb anything...why didn't I get one of these years ago
  16. Thing I've noticed about TODO TRIAL is it's very Spain Specific, focused on their scene, their riders etc etc. This site is on a global scale of course us xenophobic Brits will shout for our own however I'm with Ishy on this one, Doug and "team Lampkin" are the most popular on the world scene.
  17. Being in the "wrong" bar at British Forces HQ in Rheindahlen, Germany while Engerland were losing in a penalty shootout to Germany, think it was a Euro tournament '96 maybe. I mean, it's not possible for 4 Scots to stay quiet in a room full of 1500 screaming squaddies when the Engerland player missed his penalty and lost the game.....suppose they managed to get a cancellation for an early flight home
  18. Andy.....how come anytime we see your Scoob, it never has semi clad maidens around it??????
  19. Very Good..maybe it should only come in dark blue with a white cross on it....
  20. We're all mighty glad you said that yourself (saved us saying it )

Hiya, Which journalist would that have been then???? I'd love to have kept the Honda and gotten something else but no chance. Still I'll keep hiding the odd tenner and get an RTL some day I don't smoke and don't drink much but I have other expensive hobbies,
  22. He does have some hugely valid points and let's face it he's been there and done that. Maybe changing his tack might get some of the others onboard and we could have another Bernie, Marland Whaley, Curt Comer or the like, however, you can sense the don't step on my toes nonsense already

    Defection

Well Mr Big John I would have liked to (specially that one the Highland boys had in the parc ferme) however, I work for the government and they don't pay me enough. Thought of bumping off the old man but you know what he's like, my inheritance will be in the pockets of that miserable bu
