Hi
Hopefully someone can help !
I have a Montesa 172 which the restoration is about complete, however I have a problem with gear selection (goes into first but nothing else), and what appears a very heavy clutch.
What I am after is if anyone knows of a good engine/gearbox rebuild shop (or individual !) in the North of England where I could take the bike to (I need to take the complete bike so it can be checked running). Ive googled and there a few specialist twinshock shops, but a long way away from me !
cheers and thanks for looking

I had one of the first Scorpa TYS125's in the country - got it in late 2003 (2004 model) - what a great bike. Had it for 2 years and brought my riding on no end. Sold it for a Beta 200, then Scorpa 250 then Beta 250, but...................................., after a bit of looking came across my ideal bike and snapped it up straght away as they dont make them anymore - one of the last SY200F's (163cc) - loads more (controllable) power, grear suspension - and so simple !
for me, Scorpa every time.

Just went to change the seal - and there is a lot of evidence of corrosion, especially at the bottom of the impeller. Quite a few holes in there.... ! Is there a repair (metal-mend?) or am I looking at a new side casing..........

Sherco Front mudguard - In white though but looks fine on my 08. You need to drill the support bracket but fits a treat at

Sounds like how I planned to do it ian !

Thanks guys
ian - forgot to mention that mine lost no (or appeared to lose no) coolant ! I didn't realise it was a " side casing off " job to replace the water pump seal ? Not a massive job anyway tho. And I got a front wheel puncture today ! .....not a good trial ! Roll on next week !

Hi
I was going to post a topic about oil going White, but decided to back onto this topic! I've a 2008 rev 3 250, had it from new and it's a great bike. A couple of weeks ago i noticed the oil was milky through the sight glass. Now I had done a very wet trial the previous week, checked the airbox and there was a little pool of water in the bottom. I cleaned the airbox, dropped the oil, flushed it with petrol and replaced it. I ran the bike for 5 mins or so, and when the oil settled it was clear, so I thought the problem was solved. After todays trial, same again. Oil was milky, so I dropped it, flushed and replaced it. Same again, I ran it for 5 mins or so and the oil settled clear. Could it be that it takes a while for the coolant to weep past the water pump seal ?
Any advice ?
Cheers

Hi
Hopefully someone can help!
The petrol tap on my TL125 is constantly leaking. It doesnt drip, but is permanently wet.
I've disassembled, and the small rubber washer (has 4 holes in) is hard through age, and some of it has broken away (very slightly). Tap still works, but like I said effectively cannot be turned off. I know I can get a complete new tap,but I've tried ebay/Sandifords and a few other places but no joy for just the washer.
Anyone any ideas ?
cheers

I voted 10am for similar reasons to Pete-scorpa3, young family and like to get back early.....
And couldn't be like a lot of experts and take 3hrs for the first lap ! Lap 2 for me and most of the experts havent even got through the first section !!!!!

Hi
had the same on my 05 250. I hammered a slightly smaller socket on,and used an impact driver - it came off no problem. I then replaced with an aftermarket from birketts and had no further problems !

Youre right - mines an 08 250 as well - great bike
It's taken me 33yrs to get a TL125 since I wanted one as a 10 year old..........and I love just looking at it now !!!!
The only additioon I think I'll make to the TL is a fabricated aluminium bash plate - more to protect the bike as I don't want to scratch it !! - Certainly my intention won't be to (deliberatley) throw it at rocks

Hi !
A tidy bike
I did the same thing and bought one on spec a couple of week's ago. I've posted the pics on the Honda forum imaginately titled 'TL125 Pics!
Mine has the full SM exhaust. I can't comment on the power before and after - but it seems to have plenty of pull, especially in second gear - and sounds more powefull than a 4rt !!!!!!
I'm going to trial mine next year (in good weather !!!) and i'll find out what it's really like !
cheers

Finally figured out how to load photo's !
See below my new Toy - TL125. Bought as shown in trials trim. I am going to trial it (easy route good weather trials only though ! )

Ive just bought a mint TL 125 (I've photo's on my computer, but cant figure out how to put them on if anyone can help !).
It has been rebuilt to a very very high standard, and is in trials trim. I intend to use it in a few easy trials next year, but a couple of questions if anyone can help pls
1 - Chain tensioner - it doesn't have a one - I've had a look on t'internet and that appears to be the case, that they don't have a one - is that correct ?
2 - Bashplate. Is there an aftermarket one ? - particularly to protect the engine cases at the front where they are exposed. Like I say, I'm unlikely to be doing anything particularly difficult on it, but just in case I'd like peace of mind.
Any other advice gratefully accepted !
cheers

Looking for a new helmet, searching on ebay and found this Wulfsport Helemet- Anyone had any experience of them, as I've never actually seen a one ?

Might not be to everyone's taste, but I have to say, seeing the bike in the last year or so in the North East Centre, one of the cleanest bikes you are ever likely to get !
I think I keep my bike nice - but the underside of the mudguards are cleaner than 99% of bikes !

Hi
I've had a Beta 250 Rev 3 2008 from new (Dcember 2007)
I had a 200 prior to this, and to be honest the 250 is very similar, just has that bit more power but very very smooth.
Compared to my other bikes, its on par with what I consider the best bike I've had - tied between a Scorpa 250 and Beta 250.
I've done about 30ish trials and it has performed impeccably. No problems at all with the carb.
The only problem was ...............(lets guess) - yes - that stator packed up after 14 months.
Got to say John Lampkin was class - even though it was out of warranty, it was exchanged no problem.
It's still on original chain and sprockets, I've just changed the rear tyre. Other than that, I change the gearbox oil regular, clean and oil the filter and........... ride it.
Only mods I have done have been a thicker shock guard (originals are paper thin) and aftermarket (Ghost) footrests (originals are toffee). If I was hopping and jumping I would pass comment on the bikes weight - reality is - its a very light trials bike - might not be to GG Pro lighness but that doesnt bother me !
Great bikes - great importer - dont be put off by the stator issues - I would recommend.
cheers
