I also find the standard brake pedal is a little to far away so I cable tie it back on it self and bend the front edge back, makes a big difference.
-
Was fairly cheap, think with the postage it was about £40
-
I didn't ask for the long guard so maybe I was just lucky? Might be worth emailing to see if they have the long version in stock.
-
I ordered the one listed in the carbon parts section, the picture was of the older short guard but the newer long guard arrived ? Hopefully the same will happen if you order one? only downside is delivery is always a little slow usually takes a couple of weeks to the UK.
-
Showa shock, billet hubs, did rims and a few anodised red bits and that's about it. Don't get me wrong I think the 300rr is the best bike on the market but the uk price doesn't really justified it IMO. A standard model or a repsol with a 300 would probably sell well if the price was reasonable.

Bought mine here

The option of a genuine full 299cc / 300cc lump in the standard and the repsol versions would be nice!
I'd be more than happy to pay an extra £500 on either model.
£8000 for the 300RR is just way to expensive for an extra 29cc.
-
Slightly more expensive option would be to sell the GG and buy a Montesa 4rt! Problem solved ???
-
The standard bolt just doesn't quite reach the steering stem, the replacement bolt only needs to be something like 0.5mm longer to allow it to make contact and grip enough. Yes your correct if a much longer bolt was fitted then over tightened it would damage the threads.
-
Seen this a load of times in the 2014 onwards with the red yokes, the pinch bolt isn't quite long enough to grip the steering stem, try re adjusting and using a slightly longer pinch bolt.
-
Check the pins in the rectifier connector, seen this a few times.
-
Sounds like the Showa has been replaced with a TRP shock, the Showa should have a red spring with a purple rebound adjuster.

The caps only have a 4 sided square section, doubt a standard socket would fit unless you had a special one?
I've always used a regular spanner and never damaged one yet, usually they only get damaged when the yokes haven't been backed off first.
-
A spanner should be fine, they shouldn't be that tight, if the forks are still on the bike while your trying to loosen the top caps make sure you've undone the top yoke bolts first.
-
Hey
has anyone tried an Ohlins or TRP on to replace the Olle on the standard bike? The obvious choice would be to buy Showa but does anything else compare?
The ohlins does sound like a good option and it's price makes it very good value.
-
If the broken section is still stuck in the carb, heat up a small flat screwdriver and melt a slot into the remaining piece, let it cool, fingers crossed! you'll be able to unscrew it.
-
Yeh real shame, I miss buying and mixing 2 stroke oil and cleaning the carb every five minutes!
-
-
If your riding regularly it's always worth changing the spark plug every now and then, they do seem to appreciate a fresh plug.
-
No test ride needed, they've said the magic words! LIGHTER and more POWERFUL!
Honda know that's all they need to tell us trials lot and we'll be selling our kidneys on eBay to have one in the garage!
I ain't had many bids yet!
-
Both bikes are good machines, but might be worth considering a Montesa 4rt 260, comparable in price with much better build quality, plus their just fuel and go! No mixing 2 stroke oil
-
The 4rt will have aged much better than a 4 almost 5 year old GG.
The Montesa is a solid bike with a little bit more weight, the GG is light and nimble but fragile, especially if it's been ridden hard.
If you were competing at the top level In your area I'd say buy a 2014 / 2015 300 GG it's without a doubt the most competitive bike, but for everything else the Montesa would be a great choice.
-
Also went from 2t to 4t about 6 months ago, the 4rt will grip as well as the 2t and sometimes better! just takes a little time to adjust to it.
I've found the 4rt needs a much more aggressive approach, softly soflty doesn't work, if you wind the throttle on and lean back it will find grip
