  1. Doblos are great!! I've had a couple, must have done a collective of 70,000 in mine without a single problem. The 1.3 multi jet engines return 45mpg even when being hammered then 55+ if the wife drives. Carrys one bike with loads of room but can easily take two bikes with one bike facing forwards behind the drivers seat and one bike in reverse on the passenger side. I tried a connect first which was lower, making it a pain to get the handle bars in, must be a nightmare squeezing two bike in.
  2. Hi Had the same issue recently with fitting a genuine gas gas clutch, new clutch arrived and measured 10.03mm. I search everywhere to fine a steel plate to reduce the pack to around 9.75 / 9.85 but no joy. in the end I just fitted the new clutch which made the fingers sit low, at around 15.5 / 16mm. This made the lever heavy and the clutch had a very noticeable drag. The solution to the problem was to warm the bike up, stick it in third gear, front wheel against a wall while sitting on the bike and give it some grief!!! Worked a treat! clutch was lighter and the drag and bite point improved, its about perfect now. I am unsure about if this would work with an aftermarket brand clutch, but it seems the genuine gas gas clutches bed down significantly which explains to me why they seem slightly over sized when new. Have since re measured the clutch fingers and they now measure correct at 17mm.
  3. Where in the Isle of Man do you live?
  4. Hey lad Just un do the 13mm nut on the back of the footrest bracket, push the bolt through and bingo! the pegs will slide out from the frame. Just reverse the process to install the new ones watching that the springs locate and spring the footrest.
  5. Found you the perfect bike search on youtube Yamaha R1 offroad
  6. HI Gnardeth What sort of riding do you do?
  7. Hi Phill The big gasser is a great bike am sure you'll be happy with it, best advice I can think of is to get out and ride it at every opportunity. We have a practice day arranged for the 15th of June, ideal chance to see what you can expect in a trial. The venue will be open from 10am till 4pm so you can turn up and ride at any time. Entry is £5 Maybe catch you there. Cheers Ed
  8. Could be a lean knock from either poor fuel quality or lack of fuel caused by incorrect float level height. How is your carb set up? jetting etc...
  9. The No stop rules will always split opinions, after seeing the video clips and also the FIM observing tutorial video it is clear that at this level of competition it clearly doesn't work. Stop allowed makes it easy to decide who loses marks and who doesn't. I have also seen the same problems with the new rules at club level, leaving both riders and observers feeling annoyed and confused. Bikes have moved forward, riders skills have moved forward, so why used rules which have been left behind and cause problems for everyone involved. Balance is a major part of trials which we should encourage, if its all about getting the riders through the sections quicker, they should just shorten the time limit. In my opinion the No stop rule shouldn't be discarded, but they should only be only used for pre 65 and twin shock trials.
  10. The 280 will be fine, there's loads of mods to take the edge off the power if you first find it to be a handful. You can tame a bigger motor fairly cheaply, but you'll spend a fortune tuning a smaller engine up, and it'll never have the torque of the bigger motor.

  12. Sounds like there's a few good reasons to use different clamps. The s3 clamps do look much more robust that the standard items.
  13. S3 risers what's your general thoughts and impressions. I've used them before and have seen some good riders locally using them. Just debating running stock clamps again to see the difference.
  14. Alpinestars offer best protection and fit great,, gearnes last ages but I agree they offer no protection.
  15. My formula kit works good, fairly impressed. Anyone bought a complete replacement lever? Ouch!!! Lever blade plus the pivot needed for a quick change is almost
  16. Hi can't say about the Sidi boots as I haven't tried them. Bought a set or Gearnes and realised after ten minutes how little ankle support they offer, jumped off the bike landed and pop!!! I had an ankle like a balloon and three weeks on sticks! After comparing to my my trusted Alpinestars the Gearnes offer about as much sideways protection as a set of wellies. Never again! Alpinestars might not last the longest but in my opinion offer the best fit and protection.

    Evo Side Stand

Hi yeah that's correct the 2009 bikes had a different mounting point for the stand which was changed when the swingarms had to be beefed up for 2010. So chances are the stand won't fit
  18. Had this problem on a 2004 last week, turned out the clutch plates had swollen. The complete pack was only 0.2mm out. But that's was enough to cause the problem. Fired another clutch in and all was good

    Rear Mudguards 2012

I had a nightmare with 2011 rear mudguards, 5 in a month! Almost sold the bike, it drove me mad. Had two snap in one day! I think it was just the first batch of 2011 bikes and spare mudguards with the problem. Tried loads of clips, zip ties etc.. In the end I found these on eBay, worked a treat eBay item number 320823172767 fairly sure these are the correct size.
