    Beta Insurance

Hi yeah tried CN for insurance but the be honest they were useless! Said they now don't insure trials bikes because they don't have a seat? A local company will insure it as a rev but put a note on the policy to say the model name has changed to evo but there after

    Beta Insurance

Have found the problem like am sure many others have when insuring a beta evo, the problem is almost every insurance company doesn't have the evo listed? It seems that the evo has not been updated on there computers and the bike is still listed as a rev 3 upto 2010. Has anyone just insured it at a rev?
  6. Yeah get a curry butty in ya
  7. Seen a friends doing this a few weeks ago when it was brand new first ride out, think it fuel feed pipe was being compressed by the carb. Worth a look could be an easy fix!
  8. Have you tried bleeding the clutch in reverse? had a problem bleeding a clutch on my 09 evo, wouldnt bleed either way. after hours of struggling i noticed the small washer that holds the master cylinder seals in had been ever so slightly bent and was stopping the plunger returning fully. After fitting a new one the clutch reverse bled first time.
  9. Mine has lost it's damping on the last half of the stroke and sounds really ruff like it's full of air. Beta Uk have been spot on as usual tho and have posted out a new unit. Just wondered if anyone else has had the same problem?
  10. Hi just interested to see if anyone has had any problems with the rear shocks on the 2010 bikes?
  11. Hi i always use Putoline light gear oil and have used Goldfren rear brake pads with no probs. Hope this helps
  12. I think i might have changed my mind about not using alpinestars again! Had i bit of a crushing moment with my footpeg and a very sharp overhanging rock step at the weekend with my foot jammed between! Almost used my new gaernes for the trials and i am sure glad i didnt as the front of the boot above the toe area is very soft almost like a pair of shoes. I am sure if i had of used them i'd have lost a couple of toes!!! luckly i had the stiff dumpy fronted alpines on and only ended up with a cut and broken big toe. Still not the best outcome but way better than what could have happened.
  13. Alpinestars are great for comfort stright from the box every time. Just a shame theres way to many every times!!! Ive killed two pairs in 12 monthes.

    Evo Help ...

Hi yeah run super unleaded with the castrol tts and youll be right, i use 75ml of tts for every five litres of super unleaded. The bike comes with a br7es ngk plug but Beta uk recommend using a br5es for the colder UK cilmate. Only use the choke to start the bike up after that flick it off and let it warm up before you ride. The map button in postion 1 is a softer map which should help with grip etc... map 2 is the full power map. To be honest i dont bother with it as the powers not crazy anyways so i leave it on map 2 for alll conditions. Hope this helps Cheers

    Evo 2009 Or 2010

Defo go for a 2010 model if you can, I have had an 09 and now a 2010. My first evo was great but did have all the 09 failings swing arm cracked twice, frame cracked, wheel bearings collapsed and destroyed the rear hub etc.... all of these problems should be sorted for 2010 so well worth the extra cash!

    Evo Rear Shock

Yeah sure you will, I set my preload up simular to the standard shock setting then gave it a one full turn of damping to cope with the extra rebound, feels good on having a quick play at the back of the house, will see how it is this weekend. Only thing I did notice was the silencer was touching the new sping so had to loosen the exhaust to adjust it out slightly.

    Evo Rear Shock

Just fitted a stronger rear shock spring from SXS seems much better than the standard spring. The bike always felt under sprung and half the travel was used up just standing on much the same as my 09 model. Now The bike feels way more neutral and the back end doesn't give up when riding anything bigger than a kurb!

    Evo 4t Silencer?

Just had my exhaust replaced on my 2010 250 evo 2t. It started rattling so re packed it but had no joy so took it off the bike and gave it a shake, it sounded like a baffle had came loose in the main exhaust body. Spoke to Beta Uk and they had a replacement sent out within 24 hours! Jobs a goodin no rattle!

    Evo Rear Shock

Hi does any know what the changes were from the 09 evo rear shock to the 2010? Did they just change the spring or was there tweaks to the damper?
  23. If you press the front of the switch facing the front of the bike this is number 1 [soft map] pressing the swich backwards is map 2 [full power]
  24. Set to sorting out the bike today Hit it with a load of tweaks from junking my fuel and buying more from a different garage just incase I'd got some bad fuel, changed the plug from a br7es to a br6es, beta Uk recommend using a 5 for the colder Uk climate but couldn't find one so a 6 is halfway. Checked the float level and checked all the correct jets and needle were fitted which was all good, Stripped and cleaned the rest of the carb while it was apart again, re adjusted the air and idle screws and finally worked out which map is which on the map switch (number 2 is the full power map) ( 1 is the soft map). After all this hey presto it's now running crisp and responsive! personally think the fuel change and plug made the most difference as the carb was set almost identical from start to finish. Cheers to everyone for your comments and advice Ed
