  1. Yoga for balance and flexibility, aerobics for endurance and weights for strength. But, don't forget nothing gets you in shape for riding better than riding.
  2. They made it backwards for the Montesa 4rti also.
  3. Sorry about that Fred. I hope you enjoyed your research on the Tarahumaras. They are quite fascinating and live in spectacular area.
  4. Unless you're a Tarahumara I doubt you'll be walking to any of those from the trial site.

    Convert To 'stealth'

Were you ever able to get the bike quietened down? If so, how did you do it?
  6. Great venue and event. The Kansas club definitely knows how to lay out a fun trial. I hope you guys have the Flint Hills 2-day at Peru.
  7. Is the 2010 Raga with the new exhaust system louder than the 2010 standard model? I certainly hope that isn't the case.
  8. Thanks for the update! Please keep us posted.
  9. Shan has posted some pics from Tish here: http://tandenews.com/blog/
  10. Totally cool! Awesome job Patrick!
  11. I wish mine was as light as a GasGas. But, I still love it. I expect one reason there isn't much discussion is because they rarely break.
  12. Are you saying the '09 is the horse(prettier, faster, clumsier) and the '10 the mule(uglier, slower, lighter, smaller, more sure footed, smoother ride)?
  13. A good friend will probably let me ride his, IF he ever gets it. You know I'm not very patient. In the MX/enduro/sport bike world, by now, the forums would be full of reviews of the new model by owners, friends of owners, and friends of friends of owners of the new model. Half the reviews would say the new model was like magic and riding it was almost like cheating. 1/4 of the reviews would say it sucked and had lots of inherent design problems. The other 1/4 would give some real insight into the bike. OK, I may be exagerrating, its more likely less than 10% would have real insight. Regardless, they're fun to read.
  14. How does it compare to the '09? Lets see a review.
  15. I change the oil every 3 rides and the oil filter every 3 oil changes. I use the blue(oil resistant) silicone seal on the gasket. The gasket comes off easily, it can be reused and I've had no problems with leakage. These motors contain so little oil, I'm more concerned with oil break-down than particles clogging the oil filter. Inspection of the inside of the oil filter has not shown anything to cause concern.
  16. Hey Fred, Welcome to the addictive sport of trials! Thanks for the report. As always, the Tish club puts on a great event. Hopefully, you'll make it to the Feb NEOTT event at Appalachia Bay. The guy on the old Bultaco was David Myers. He's from the Tulsa area. I've only been involved in trials a little over a year but have ridden events with 5 different clubs (North Eastern Oklahoma,Texhoma, North Texas, Kansas and Missouri). At every event, everyone was just as you described; friendly, helpful and encouraging. See ya at an event soon. Charles
  17. I'll be there. Can't wait to see it!
  18. I received them yesterday and installed them last night. The rear of the bike definitely sits a little higher. I should get a good test of them this weekend.
  19. When Ryan teaches a class. He inspects and often rides all the students bikes to make sure they are set up properly. When I sell the Montesa, I'll need to remember to put "once ridden by Ryan Young" to see if it helps sell the bike. I better not include the part about the ride only lasting about 45 seconds.
  20. I don't know what a BOGOF deal is. But, I wouldn't count on Honda not "undermining the market". They've been blowing out new leftover '08 CBR1000Rs in the US for under $7000 USD while trying to sell new 2009s for $12950 USD. I'm not complaining because I picked up one of the bargains. But, those that bought before the huge rebates are a bit upset.
  21. I like that. How does the weight compare to a typical trials helmet? How well does it ventilate? I see the vents, but, my Shiro trials helmet has vents and is still hotter than my MX helmet.
  22. Hey Wes, I talked to Ron and Mike yesterday. They both said it was a GREAT riding area and its only a little over 1 hour from us. If you guys need any help clearing/riding it in. Let me know. Looking forward to the '10 event. Charles
  23. Thanks for all the great feedback! It sounds very promising. Chewy, do you still have the dimensions of the one you made? A friend is a CNC machinist and will make me one of these if I supply him the dimensions. Thanks
  24. Do any of you have experience with the V-MAR rear shock linkage for the 4RT? The linkage lifts the rear of the bike and they claim: "This gives you improved 'hop' without sacrificing the excellent rear end traction." If you've tried the linkage, did it work as claimed? Please share your thoughts/experiences with this mod. Thanks
