New scoring format was used for the Pro riders. Final results were a combination of both days sat/sun. Riders were given one point each for their finishing order in Saturday's "Prologue". Cody was first on Saturday and therefore started Sunday with one point. Keith was 3rd on sat, so he started Sunday with 3 points.. Great location. Great SoCal weather, sun, wind, rain, fog. Thanks to all involved.

Sorry for your loss and to Chris' family as well. We make so many great friends through this great sport and sharing their memories helps us all appreciate the mates that we have today. Andy, it would be nice to have a place to remember them, perhaps an "In Memorium" thread.

Brilliant! Congrats NATC on the new website. Atta boy Griff.

Andy, I know this belongs in "Bike Trial" but such skill needs to be seen by all.

Hi Steve, as much as I can recall
- shock body, fork lowers, triple clamps, crankcases, were magnesium.
- hubs were turned down
- head pipe, hardware, peg brackets, some engine internals were Titanium
- frame was very standard, just tailored to Doug's and Fuji style, the webbing inside the ankle area of the frame was cleaned up (saved a few grams)
- air box was Kevlar in early years but stock later on
- CF fork brace and air box lid
- skid plate was standard
- I recall that Doug used the standard pegs for many years. most club riders has tricker pegs
- they told me that overall weight loss was acheived grams at a time
Good luck. I know the winters are long in Michigan and a man needs a project.

Nigel, I hope that from a riders stand point the the 2T EFI will deliver to the average rider a 2T that "carburates" as well as a well sorted works bike or better.
Jon, we have not yet seen the homologated version of the Ossa and that may have a closed loop system for emmissions. You are right that they have not the solved 2T issue of unburned fuel escaping. Time will tell though, these Ossa boys seem to have good coconuts.
-
If EFI does for the Ossa what it did for the 4RT , then it will be revolutionary.
The obstacles to EFI are 1) cost and 2) acceptance. The 2T w/carb builders can only slide by the euro emissions regs for so long. The true test will be in the "feeling".
Kudos to Ossa for stepping up.

One of the by-products of entering middle age after having lived a full life is that your friends have to endure your stories .......multiple times.
But, if you are like me and you have been careful to surround yourself with quality people who posses a high level of humor and who are willing to ridicule you, then when the stories are no longer funny, the fact that you told it so many times and are unaware of it, becomes the source of humor.
Kram, my friend, as always I am willing to tee up a juicy one for you and I look forward to your criticism. See you at the Trial.

Hi Tim, I know how you feel about Honda, you have said it before.....but I know people there and at the FIM and your suspicions are misplaced.
1) the FIM NEVER adopted a "four strokes only policy" in Trials
2) what makes you think that they were the "drivers"? any proof or just speculation.
3) IF there was anyone pushing a "four strokes only" agenda in Trials, they certainly failed.
-
Keysville? I'll see you there Old Man. Lookin forward to a "moto trials summit" around the camp fire.

Thanks for making laugh Bill. Cheers Mate.

This has been discussed on this forum before. You may want to search for it.
Cut it open, re-pack it with Silent Sport packing and weld it up. I have had it done several times by Mike Komer at the Tryals Shop. This method yields excellent results. I have seen it done by the factory boys as well, when they were on two strokes.
Mike used to grind the seams and split in half, but the last one he did, he cut a window open on top and bottom to access the packing.
These other methods sound dangerous and I don't believe that they will be as good as new packing.

Hi Jim, has the NATC considered an online Riders Poll? It would be great if a rider could complete the poll right after the event when his or her impressions are fresh in their mind. Could save on work and postage as well. Sorry I don't want to put you out of a job. Martin
