  1. Get a quote for fixing it, you'll be surprised how little you can get it done for. Watkins Radiators of Gloucester straightened and repaired my very mangled rad from the DRZ enduro bike for
  2. I've added hydraulic mountain bike brakes to my daughters 36v. She is quite small even for a 6 year old girl and she couldn't apply enough pressure to operate the single piston cable operated set up fitted as standard. The mountain bike brakes require far less pressure and are adjustable for both reach and span which is a benefit. Fitted both front and rear in less than an hour!
  3. The Stratford-Upon-Avon Club will be running the OK Supreme LDT on Sunday 18th September starting at the Sheldon Bosley Hub in Shipston on Stour. This years event will include three brand new venues on the way around the 70 mile route based on the Cotswold Hills near Broadway. The OK Supreme is a round of the ACU's National Trail bike championship, riders in the championship class will ride the hard route on a number of the sections, those wishing to enjoy a less challenging day out can opt for the easier route. The OK Supreme Trophy will go to the winner with awards for the top trail bike under 350cc, over 350cc, Twin Shock, British machine and lady rider. Anyone wishing to use a modern trials bike for fun can enter on a no award basis. For more information check out the club web site http://www.stratford-upon-avonmcc.org.uk/page3.html
  4. Both my daughters started riding before the age of three on the 12.5 Oset with stabilisers fitted. The younger one who is now three and a half is just about ready to ride without them. I don't take the girls out riding on the pavement or in public areas, but we do occasionally ride along a local disused railway line dedicated as a cycle path and I've not had any complaints so far. I follow closely on my mountain bike. Two young girls wearing pink helmets on electric bikes actually get positive comments.

In the UK... The 95 model year was blue, they had upside down front forks and a four piston rear brake caliper. The 96 model year was grey, they had the right way up forks and a twin piston rear caliper. The 97 model year was purple. The 98 model year was black with a modified rear mudguard. The 99 model year was red/silver. I hope this helps. Pete
  6. Here's a short fun video I made of the recent Colmore Cup Revisitment in the old style of filming. If you want to see the serious version, it can be found in the Pre-65 Forum. I hope this gives you a chuckle. Pete
  7. The Stratford-Upon-Avon Club held a social event on Saturday 9th July to celebrate the centenary year of the Colmore Cup trial. I estimate that around 170 trials enthusiasts including five previous winners of the trial took part in the event which visited many of the locations once used in the Colmore. Riding or driving any type of machine, the entrants were taken on 60+ mile loop of the Cotswold Hills and with an 'on road' route and a 'off road' route, there was something for everyone. Towards the end of the event, entrants gathered together near to a location named Camp, first used in the Colmore in 1936 and for many years until it a new owner withdrew the option to ride there. With grateful permission given to visit Camp granted just one more time for the Centenary revisitment, a section used in throughout the 1950 and 60's was marked out and the past winners and other notables were given the chance to ride the Colmore one last time. With an appreciative and most enthusiastic crowd lining both sides of the section, Ron Langston was first to ride up. Here is a short video of the famous riders in action, look out for Ron, Gordon Jackson, Gordon Blakeway and others. You may also spots a few very famous machines. Remember, most of these riders were competing 50 years ago!!! The Past Winners taking a round of applause at the end of the day. Ron Langston on GOV130 A group of riders on Meon Hill overlooking the Vale of Evesham. Lunch Break at Broadway Tower. John Preston on his BSA trials sidecar. Thanks to the members of the Stratford-Upon-Avon Club who worked so hard to run the event, it was a day to remember. Pete
  8. This is more entertaining. In car view! Check out the co-drivers reaction to the near crash. "That was the biggest moment of my life" says Higgins, "are you ok?" To which the co-driver replies "yeah, we're great!"
  9. I tried to watch it again but the changes of view make it really difficult. There are 27 view changes in the first 21 seconds of the lap! It's a real pity the producers didn't make a modern version of Tony Ponds lap, you actually get an idea of what the TT circuit looks like from this film!
  10. Brilliant driving but why do the producers change the camera angles so many times? Flicking from one to the other every two seconds, makes it really difficult to watch properly.
  11. You will probably get a very good (although extremely biased) response from the TBM forum. http://www.trailbikemag.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=36e4f5d96e2765bb0e3dcbd78d2f209a
  12. Entry list HERE. I have it on good authority that Steve Saunders will sadly NOT be there. However Ron Langston IS planning to ride at Camp. Pete
  13. The ACU has asked clubs to respond to their proposals by 30th June. Judging by the small number of votes cast on this subject, very few riders have a preference. Perhaps this could be explained simply by the fact that few riders have anything to do with their clubs, so they don't care if the clubs have more/less work to do or more/less income generated by licence applications each year? Failure of clubs to express an opinion to the ACU will result in them using the system that suits them best. (And you can't blame them for that.) However, the system they choose might not be the best one for the clubs. Does anyone know if their club has replied to the ACU concerning this?
  14. I'll stick some big climbs in just for you at Saintbury on Saturday 18th! Here's a clip to keep you going until you get Her!
  15. I've not come accross the situation you describe, but a local trials rider crashed his nearly new road bike (when the engine seized) and the insurance company wrote it off. He never saw the bike again and sent the paperwork off to the insurers. Some months later a fine for not taxing his bike came through the post, he contacted the licencing authority and explained the situation but the fine stood. Sorry, they said, that's the rule. Hope you have more luck than he did.
  16. I stood and held that gate open for a few riders and I can tell you the wind was blowing so hard the gate almost knocked me off my feet, the wind was actually blowing it shut! There was a rock on the grass that I used to hold the gate whilst I rode through, maybe someone wedged the gate open and left it like that!
  17. It looks like he was intending to go for a flying lap and went down the refuelling lane instead! That's somewhere around 130 mph! A big chunk of luck for all concerned.
  18. This is the very reason why there is an appeals process, if any rider was unhappy about a result or descision made by the club they should have protested. This system is clearly set out to prevent occurances such as this happening days or weeks after the event.
  19. If the results are announced on the day, which they were, then you have 30 minutes to appeal. After that no protest can be accepted. However, if the written (or on web site) results were different for those announced on the day that would be another matter. In this case, that is not what is being suggested. After 30 minutes, the results were final.
  20. I stand to be corrected, but I don't think that was what he was saying. He meant that the original entry on the score board stated "Excluded" but this was removed prior to the results being announced on the day. If this is the case, then a protest should have been made in writing within 30 minutes of the results being announced. Such a protest then has to be dealt with within 14 days. As no protest was made, the result has to stand. I can understand him feeling disapointed at this, but unless we know the whole story we're only guessing as to what actually occured to necesitate the change he is refering to.
