Same here.
Crucial for small bolts into cast alloy inside engines etc
-
I would be happy to do this if there were half a dozen riders who wanted a two day meeting.
I'd simply set out the Conducted course the day before a normal Sunday club trial and allow the Conducted riders to enter both days. No problem.
To do this I need a minimum of ten riders to commit in advance.

Obvioulsy a van is better than a trialer. If you can use a van for other things too, then it's perfect. If you only ride once a week or less, it's quite a sacrifice to make for just a few hours use on a Sunday morning.
Using a trailer also has another advantage inthat it stops us calling in a the pub o the way home from an event because we can't leave the bikes unsupervised, therefore riding doesn't cost me even more 'brownie' points at home as I don't come home late and looking too happy!
-
Exactly . Just a get a kick out of beating people on more modern machines and enjoy the bike for what it is.
-
I would accept a converted mono in the twin shock class, but if there was one protest , they would be disqualified.
If that happens a few times, people would stop building them.
Don't do it.
-
I used to run a van when I was road racing, you need it for spare wheels, tyre warmers, generator, tool kits etc. But for trials it became too much of an expense. Plus I got it stuck a few times in the field, so I sold it and now just use a trailer.
Unless you ride two or three times a week (living on red bull and star bars ) a trailer is perfectly acceptable and the other 6 days a week you've got a normal vehicle.
-
Covering costs wouldn't be my main objective, we make some money on all our events, so it wouldn't matter if I was a little out of pocket. 'Feel good factor' for the E class would be the real pay off
-
If there is no interest in a seperate conducted event, then I will do exactly as you suggest.
We run a number of club trials where I could and probably will add a conducted route, however I was thinking it may be nice to offer an event just for the really little ones, with just a few family members riding around in the back ground rather than 60 or 70 other competitors.
A gentle introduction followed by as much practice as they wish for a relatively low entry fee.

Now that the ACU are issuing licences to 4 year olds on electric trials bikes, I was wondering what sort of take up I would have if I staged an event aimed at these riders.
Would anyone be interested in a trial in the Costwold/Evesham area where the entries were restricted to Conducted riders on Osets, Auto 50's and TY80's?
It would probably be on a Saturday, have eight sections each with two routes. Begginer and Experienced.
Each section would be ridden three times by each rider before moving on to the next section. At the end of the trial, the first three in each class would be awarded a trophy.
I would only charge the bare minimum to cover costs; permit, land hire and insurance. Probably about

How would an organiser provide a programme if every event was enter onthe day?
How late inthe day would the trial start if 120 riders turned up at 5 to start time and wanted to sign on?
Would an organising club take the chance that their 25 mile, 40 section, 80 officials, 15 landowner event only have 20 entries turn up and therefore loose money?
Some trials should be pre enter and some work better as enter onthe day. I've done both and they both have advantages and disadvantages.
Like you said, we all have to earn a living and enjoy our play time... that includes the organisers.

ACU Youth riders must compete on the correct capacity machine.
For youth A that is 125cc, however, you can ride as an adult when you are 16 and therefore use any capacity machine.
That said, although you are riding as an adult at 16, because you are under 18 you will need a parent or guardian to sign the entry for for you.
I hope this clarifies the situation

Not sure who
was, I didn't get his number but he may have found the stump you mention?
-
Here's the first off the videos from this years Colmore, who says 4RT's don't grip? Addict looks like he's got a turbo!!!
This gives you a feel of the type of going today.
-
Be aware that these are riders totals and not the class finishing orders. Some of the above may have been on the 50/50 support route.
Well done to Dan Thorpe for winning the Colmore for the second time.
Ross Danby looked like he had it in the bag until he lost five marks at section 38 where most went clean, after his front wheel suddenly washed out on the drop to the ends cards.
As Mick said, thanks to all the people who worked so hard to put on this years Colmore Cup.

You think? Video evidence will follow shortly.
-
Ohh they are real, I don't know how Wrighty does it! Rocks in the Colmore, Wrighty isn't God but God probably thinks he's Wrighty
-
By the time you get to Top Farm it'll be more like Swimming Baths not Star Bars. We really have got the worng weekend this year! The forecast for tomorrow couldn't be much worse.
Still look on the bright side, Wrighty has managed to find three rocks this year, so it's not ALL wet muddy off cambered roots!
-
The sections are done, the Marquee is up, the punches and Mars Bars are ready, the sections are MASSIVE its muddy and it's..... pouring down! Colmore time as usual then
-
Yes, at this age you really should buy by condition. Get the best one you can afford, an eight year old trials bike is likely to have seen some serious action in it's time!
For what it's worth, be wary of the 2002 Gas Gas Pro's, it was a completely new model and had some issues which were improved upon in subsequent years.
-
Ummm, me thinks I had better allow a little more runup!
-
Hot off the press today.... here's this years programme front cover. As supplied by CJP Photographic.
Anyone who's ridden in the Colmore in the last ten years will remember this tree stump at the top of the big climb in Saintbury Quarry.
-
You'll be laughing Addict, I hear that you've got a whole convoy of catchers following you round this year
-
And don't forget your parachute for Wrightys 'Three Sisters'
