  1. I was chopping out sections at Dovedale on Saturday..... watch this video from Top Farm last year and then decide if you really would like to be a late number! Some sections will probably get easier..... just can't think where at the moment!!! Maybe here... Nope, still looks muddy. Ah ha, here's one that will get easier for the later numbers. PS. Don't blame me for the 'Three Sisters' in Dovedale, Wrighty can take the credit for them this year
  2. Check that the seal is properly in place onthe cap. Then run the bike for a while and see if the flow from the pipe stops, it's likely that this is simply the coolant finding it's correct level.
  3. Lost me at the first sentence! Congratulations to the GF for her job offer

    Tank Range

You will be able to do four laps of 10 sections ok, providing the sections aren't too far apart. If you are riding in a road trial, you will need to refuel after approx 15 miles. If you are just doing a bit of light trail riding, expect to get 30 or so miles out of a tankfull.
  5. By the way, the bearing numbers that fit my 2005 SY250 are: 6004-2RS for the rear 6905-2RS for the front. Pete
  6. I've had one for a couple of years and been very happy with it
  7. And just one more that I've found of a young lady at Limekiln during last years Wyegate LDT.
  8. It certainly isn't Justin; there's nothing about toilets in there! Plus Justin's much MUCH faster on a race bike than that!
  9. Here's a video of Norman Blakemore riding his Scorpa in the Sphinx LDT. He's added a larger alloy tank to make it more practical for this type of event. Here's one of Steve Venn on a Pampera in the same event making it look easy. And finally, one of Sam Wilson on his Scorpa T ride making it look slightly less easy, the camera makes this look a lot flatter than it really was.
  10. I know it will never happen, but if you staged a trial where every rider was given a Scorpa 125/175 when they signed on, you would have a really good event. The sections would be a little easier, you would still get a fair result and the best riders would still be the best riders.
  11. Yes, had the same thing when I damaged the rim tape changing a tyre on mine. I never could get it to seal properly again but as mine takes 24 hours to loose 1psi, I put up with it. Fitting the new rim tape was one of the most frustrating things I have ever undertaken, you don't know if you've been succesfull until you refit the tyre and pump it up. After five or six goes, I just plastered silcoflex on the tape and gave up trying to do it properly. People will tell you there's a knack for doing it and once you've got that then it's easy, but I certainly haven't got the knack. Good luck and let us know how you get on. Pete
  12. Do you mean not many at events of not many to buy second hand? If you mean to buy, then I guess many owners are keeping their '09 bikes instead of upgrading to a '10 due to the increased cost etc
  13. I'm with you on that one bilco. I do object to the local cycle club holding organised time trials along the nearby dual carriageway, complete with chequered flags, marshals with flags and pace cars. Imagine trying that stunt but with motorbikes, I've even been red flagged in my car as the to**ers come round the roundabout...... this is one of my pet HATES!
  14. I spoke to the ACU today and they confirmed that riders aged 4 - 6 years old can apply for a conducted course trials registration. The current application form does not show this class as they were printed prior to the descision being made, however riders can still use this form to aply for the new class. The ACU also tell me that all the necessary details WILL be included in the 2010 hand book which will be out soon. My five year old has applied for her 'licence' this evening, the tricky bit was getting her to sign her name in the box. Trouble is, she expects to get out on her bike and practice every day now!
  15. And try not to spend too long washing it on the front drive.
  16. Alternatively, it just may have been there all along. Back inthe mid 90's we raced in the Triumph Speed Triple challenge, although the bikes were supposed to be completely standard, it was worth pulling the motors apart and rebuilding them very carefully. Gains of up to 5 bhp could be made. We took delivery of a boxed pair and immediately dropped the engines out and stripped them apart, they had not been started since they left the factory. Removing the sumps from both bikes revealed small particles of alloy, small particles of steel and twists of swarf. This shrapnel would have been in a road bike until it's first service, happily floating around the sump. You never know!
  17. Paint on some diluted washing up liquid and see where the air bubbles are escaping from, this will help you locate the problem.
  18. Only a thought and forgive me for even suggesting it but, is there any chance the item is part of your tool kit that was dropped in un-noticed? May be part of a 1/4 drive ratchet that came apart during the rebuild? Or perhaps it was lying on the bench and stuck to a spanner dropping in at a bad moment? I'm ducking
  19. I've been through the pdf really slowly and I can't see any ball bearings that small at all. It's a bit of a mystery, let us know if you find it.
  20. I bought brand newSherco in 200, Gas Gas in 2003, Beta in 2004 and Scorpa 2005 and I've still got that now.
  21. It certainly looks like a bearing cage, but if it is, where's there rest of it? It would be a minor miracle for the cage to find it's way into the sump but for the bearings to have stayed in place. I'm not at all familiar with this engine but I was just wondering where on earth there would be a bearing that small? . Clutch push rod perhaps?
  22. At least thank goodness that we've still got the internal combustion engine...... for now!
  23. I know it's not exactly local but have you considered Central Wheel Components at Coleshill? They offer a superb service.
