Spot on there, we all go on about lack of help & support for our up and coming riders, but if that is due to the general public not being intrested in the sport, then the sport (trials) has to change to become more appealing to Joe public. If trials was in the media every day of the week like football etc, companys would be more willing to put money into the sport.
If say Doug Lampkin was to kill Tony Blare with a axe, dressed in a lycra suit, everyone in the media would want to know about trials.
So maybe thats the answer.
Go for it Dougi
(PS he lives at no10)

No names, but some V.I.P.S. in the ladies trials world are not happy about this.
If you repeat the result from the last European round in Italy inc Emma, who came eighth, the Brit's would win.
Why has the Colley logic not applied to the ladies team.
-
A big thanks to Barry, Ian and all the Y.M.S.A. team for organising this years trial, having been involved in organising the IOW indoor i know how much work you must all put in, and i take my hat off to you.
As well as the trial, Sunday nights entertanment was fun and the kids loved it, thanks again and well done.
-
The answer is YES Brickfields has been booked and work is being done behind the scenes, Reg's for the acctual trials will be out at the Y.M.S.A. three day.
I have been exceptionaly busy at work, and any spare time has been spent practicing with Chris & George.
Now that they have won the C class championship we can start working on the end of term party, RE the IOW Indoor.
The first riders will be Andrews, Wigg, Challoner, Danby, Crellin. the thing that i need to know A.S.A.P. is how many international riders can come.
Untill in know i can't pick any other riders.
Steve Saunders will again be helping with the sections, and all profits will go to Cancer relief.
Anyone intrested in sponsoring a section should let me know soon.
Any international riders can also ride in the British championship trial which will again be at Shorwell, were Becky Cook, & her Minder Lee Haydon will be doing the sections, AG IOW will be doing C/D sections which will be at Ducksmore.(about two miles from Brickfields)
Over night camping will be at Brickfields Friday & Saturday.
Anyone who came last year will know that we put on a good do so don't miss it this year.
-
Thanks for that, good to see the ladies are training together and i think that BC has dragged DF up a level, i think they need each other just like our boys work much better together. The Y.M.S.A. 3 day should do them good as well.
-
I think you make a good point Dabster, it' just that in my experiance succsess brings as many enemies as friends, and while our lads have done us proud this year, we realise that there are much better riders up the road. And untill you reach the level of Alexz, Ross, & Jack it,s best to just keep working for the future.
The Team IOW report would be a good idea, as we could include Becky, & Josh stephens progress, but as i said i don't know how, if you think it would be of intrest maybe AG IOW could sort it.
-
Because we don't know how and according to Dabbster it is't important anyway. We are very proud of what our lads have done this year, but at the same time we realise that self promotion brings it's own problems. As we say on the Island (Bull**** stinks results do the talking)
If anyone would like to help us we would welcome them but i don't think youth C champions will attract much intrest. The British national youth scene is like a traveling show that moves around the country, we all know who's who and to stick your head above the water is not wise.
Lets all be honest, we may not like it but Ben Morphet is probably the best trials rider for his age in the world today, and as long as he is around everyone else should keep quiet.
-
I think you will find that the best Lady rider in the UK, and one of the best lady riders in Europe, is riding and has won the title for the last three years. I don't think that MC could beat BC & DF on present fourm.
-
This year the IOWMCC has three British trials champions, has any club in the UK ever had this before in recent years, or could this be a new record?
-
Well done George you bloody well deserve to be champion after all the hard work you & your dad have put in over the last few years, god knows how many times iv'e seen that bike land on you in practise.
Keep the good work up.
-
We saw that fall looked very nasty when the bike landed on him , glad to hear he is OK.
-

Chris Stay cleaned section 5 on his second lap but his back wheel touched the tape when he was jumping the bike around the final corner so he was given a 5 after what he thought was the first clean on that section.
He was so upset that he rode the next section and forgot to get his punch card stamped, not one of the 6 remaining observers or Chris noticed this and he handed in his card with section 6 not marked.
He was therefore given 10 points for missing the section, but still won his class by 1 point from Duncan mcDonald.
Could this be one of the dumbest misstakes ever maid in the British trials championships
-
I think everyone who took part in last weekends Kent British youth championships should post thanks to the KYTC for a fantastic weekend, and one of the best trials of the year. Given the short time they had to reorganise the event i think everyone involved did a fantastic job. The time was tight on Saturday but that did't alter the fact that we had 20 brilliant sections to ride, thanks again to everyone at KYTC.
-
Would anyone else like to stick the boot in while your there.
-
I can't understand were this bit about criticising riders come from, could someone tell me.
I did try to send money to TC supporters but i could'nt get it to work through Pay Pal, but if you E mail me an address i will send you a cheque, and it will be for more than
-
Ok Andy you bite, and i will to.
I want to see Alexz Wigg win the world trials championship as much as anyone, because i know and like the kid and his dad too. But winning one or two rounds don't give you the championship. Eveyone needs to keep thier feet on the ground untill the title is won, and just because he won in the US, don't mean he's won the championship.
Also i thought that TC was going to reinvest some if any of its profits back into youth trials, and eveyone would be happy with that. There is a need for someone to help the younger lads in this country, a day spent with a top rider is worth it's weight in gold, but knowone seems to be willing to pay for help untill they reach 15, by which time some of the more talented lads will have given up.
But all we know is that TC have sponsored Ross Danby, but if you have helped Alexz why haven't we heared about it before.
Finaly let me say that with out the help and intrest generated by TC last year our British championship and indoor trial would,nt have been half as good as it was, so in the name and intrest of the sport lets all row the boat in the same direction.
-
Interesting point, i thought the origanal idea was for T.C. to reinvest money back into youth trials in general, as apposed to one youth.
-
Yes Wiggy is UK's and maybe the worlds best youth rider at the moment, and you will be pleased to know that theres plenty more down the line where he comes from.
-
Great result again from Alexz, but It's a bit like Bou in the indoor rounds, like the best rider in the championship can't ride in all the rounds.
So that hands Gubian the title on a plate, there has to be a way round this.
Someone out there in the world must know how we can get Alexz to japan.
