Pro's Diet...how Does It Differ From Regular Diet?
bowerz replied to funtrials's topic in Trials Training And Technique
Best diet for the levels alll us guys are at is one that will give long term energy (so thats your carbs, pasta etc). And anything that keeps you in a positive frame of mind and not feeling depressed where you havent eaten well etc. That will give you a happy ride and without feeling exhausted at the end and start dropping silly marks as you have mentally given up. -
Riding since just before may and picked it up pretty quick (however i think MTBing and BMXing might have helped). I just practiced doing continuos full lock circles and then with my body in a different position and leaning my bike over more etc. I can now balance stationary for as long as i want. I have also practice kickstarting the bike whilst balancing (this got me out of a fair few stalls as if you don't dab whilst stalled, you can continue).

Another few things i found that helped: - Make sure your tires arn't too pumped up on wet trials - Either tweek your bike or buy a bike without a 'bitey' clutch. E.g. a clutch that isn't either on or off so you can feather it more easily. I had a 250 sherco with a horrible clutch and they are no good for learning - When you feel like it, just go to where your bike is, take it off the stand and just stand on the pegs and try to balance. Don't even turn it on. this way you can earn to balance by just using your weight and turning the wheel without the aid of a clutch. This will aslo help with figure eights and got me out of trouble so many times in my first few trials when i over-did things - Find a hill (not even a big on, can be about a meter or 2 high) somewhere and find the lowest revs possible your bike can make it up the hill. This knowledge helps you keep traction in wet trails and makes sure you only use the revs needed to get up the hill so there is no wheel spin - When looking round sections, think outside the box (but not the set guide lines ) I have found looking at it in a different way can easily help. For example i was going around a corner and had to go over a log when doing so. I didn't notice another stick to the far outside that could be used as a ramp go get over it a lot easier. By the time i had dabbed there twice, Benny Ayres, a well known rider in the South, pointed it out to me and i almost kicked myself. It's times like that i wish i would take more time looking at things and seing how i could get round them.

Thats exactly what i have been thinking. I called them and the awnser message said that they will be out for a few weeks. I have a friend who is a factory MotoX rider and his family runs it, and he thought that its not going to be opening again. He's not the type to go and tear up parks because of this, but he was telling me that many people he knows in the sport, do ride illegally in secluded areas for practice or to run in/tune engines. We are looking for suitable land for trials practise in the South, but finding a suitable place, with road access, ample parking and away from any houses as to minimise planning application objections is very hard. And theres also the matter of it being for the right price!

So what is the format of the day? Is it turn up, have a look at the bikes, watch a demo then wait in line to have a ride then go home or something else? I just wanna know what to expect. Also do you turn up with full trials gear to ride, or just a helmet and boots?

They should do Trial X, Like make a man made area for showing off trials skill. Just like the park events for skateboard and bmx, just designed to get the most out of the trials bikes.

Fair enough, I was going to anyway but thought i'd put up on here so people can say teir experiances with the past ones.

Really? No chance of them applying for another liscence?

I heard there was a planning permission issue with the trials area at TonyMoto. The hearing for it was a Wednesday about 2 or 3 weeks ago but i didn't hear what the outcome was? Does anyone know what happened or if it is still open? Liam

Anybody know when the BVM test day is? I've looked on their website but theres nothing. I just need to know the location dates/timesw and any other information. Thanks!

Fair enough to you! I find that 2 strokes don't mind the oil falling back, but as a safety precaution, i would slightly overfill you gearbox to compensate for this, then remove the excess when you are done. You have got to get a video of this, i know there is one on youtube of a quad wheelieing for 10 minutes! He had to stop cos he got to a red light.

They will under a roof (well indoors) so that shouldn't be a problem and I've got some decent anti slip paint as it is wood.
