  1. Well I have ordered the VEP discs today, let's hope they turn up soon! Deffinately going to look a little different to standard! As for the master cylinder kit I managed to get it from Haven Trialsport and after lookIng in the parts book it does seem to be the same as the clutch master cylinder! Adam
  2. Hi, After abit of a look on the net for a new disc rotor for the front I have found the VEP wavey disc rotor, has anybody had any experience with these rotors? At £40 ish I think it might be worth a try, and then also change to a rear one when I get the chance..... Also, I am also in need for a brake master cylinder kit for an 09 evo, I have seen the clutch master cylinder kits on trials and tribulations : Clutch master cylinder kit Are these the same for both levers? so could I order that and fit it straight into the brake lever, I am assuming they are the same but I wanted to check first. Thanks Adam

    beta evo shock

I have just ordered the 16.5st spring from SXS but they are on back order until next week, I weigh in at around 18st at the moment and realy can't wait to get the new rear spring, I have added as much pre-load onto the rear of my Evo as I feel I can and the rear is still very soft! On another note, When I spoke to Steve Saunders I asked about matching fork springs, they are actualy in the process of testing a fork spring to match the 16.5st rear spring, he said they are aiming to have them for sale around mid - end of august, I will be getting one as soon as they are out! Adam
  4. That looks awesome! Is this going to be somewhere that people can come and ride once the event is over? Adam
  5. Hey dude, This is Adam, On the old sherco from ESTC, I am glad you have managed to fix your bike! you didn't seem best impressed on sunday when we worked out that it was gearbox oil! The closeness of the bash to the clutch cover is something that has put me off going for a sherco again as my 2nd bike, especialy after doing 2 clutch covers on my 2001, although now with the slightly altered bashplate I think I am ok..... Are you going to be riding the trial on saturday now then?? Adam
  6. ESTC do evening trials, Have a look on thier website: www.estc.co.uk! Adam

    Beta EVO 290 09?

Hi Ben, thanks for that reply, its very details, I am hoping to get a chance to ride a 290 at the weekend when I ride, I have ridden a 250 with a fly weight on and it felt quite nice, which is why I wanted to know abit about the 290. As for the bike, yes it is the one at pidocks, and as you say it does come with the standard exhaust too (from the pics it seems to be whats fitted to it atm!), I need to sell my car first but if they still have the bike when the cars gone I will making a trip up there! Thanks again Adam

    Beta EVO 290 09?

Hi Guys, I usualy stick around the sherco forum, but recently I have been looking to update to a newer bike, I currently ride a 2001 sherco 290 (272cc) but I have seen an 09 Beta evo 290 for sale fairly close to me (I was looking and changing to a 250), it also comes with an Arrow Ti exhaust system and flywheel weight, can anybody give me abit of advice as to what the power would be like on this bike compared to my current ride and how much difference the Arrow system would make, and would the flywheel weight be a good addition along with this exhaust? The exhaust and weight come with the bike but are not fitted so I could choose whether to run them or not. I am also aware of the frame and swing arm issues that they had with the 09, i am pretty sure that this bike has an updated frame but I would double check if I ended up looking to purchase. Thanks Adam
  9. For the mudguard I think it would be best to go new from splatshop or whatever shop you can find it cheapest, as for stickers, I know there are people on ebay doing 02 style sticker sets for
  10. I would say its an 01, front caliper and rear caliper mounted above the swing arm show that its not an 02 or newer, and the fuel cap position is different to the 2000 which had it at the same angle as the frame, not level like the 01. Hope that helps Adam

    Re packing...

Forgot about that! Thanks for reminding me Chris, I have used caustic soda for stripping anodizing off aluminium before! Maybe I will look into some other form of de-greasing. Adam

    Re packing...

Caustic Soda? I have heard of this being used before, I am thinking of giving it a shot on my 01 290 exhaust within the next month, although when welding up the crack in my exhaust the other day we did have a few flames so I am sure abit of the gunk has been burnt out already! Adam
  13. Basicaly everything that has been said, but I would say that
  14. Has anybody ever done much filming using a chest mounted camera? I have always found that helmet cams tend to move around alot and the angle never seems to give a good perspective of the stuff being ridden. I imagine that a chest cam would give a good view of the stuff being ridden and also not move around quite so much. On the Camera front, I have used a go pro and liked it, but that was a while ago, looking into getting one for myself in the next month or so. Adam
  15. Sort of on topic, have any of you guys tried one of these 12V pressure washers, Laser 12V pressure washer Just thinking it could be a handy thing to carry around in the back of the car and then give the bike a wash before getting home (if there is a water supply near by), leave all the mud etc at the venue instead of carrying it back home! Adam
  16. Hi Guys I am thinking of updating the look of my bike abit within the next few months, The frame is starting to look abit tatty with a few small rust marks, so I am looking to get that sprayed, I was thinking at the same time I might fit some newer plastics, Can any one tell me whether the fitment of say an 06-07 mudguard (with the vents) is the same as the 01/02 I have fitted now? I realise i would have to put some mesh over the vents on the airbox side, I just think that these mudguards look MUCH nicer than whats on the bike now. Thanks Adam
  17. Sorry to hyjack the thread a little, but are there any alternative rotors available for a 2001 bike with the 3 x 2 bolt type fixing front hub? Thanks Adam
  18. Hi Guys and Gals! I am new to the trials scene and got a puncture last week, I have bought a dog turd puncture repair kit, but how exactly do I do it? I know it sounds stupid and it is more than likely fairly straight forward, but I want to make sure that I get it right. Thanks Adam
  19. I have only been riding for 3 weeks now, but I tend to head to my local practice ground (Earl Shilton) atleast twice a week, usualy there on saturdays and then either friday afternoon or sundays, somtimes all 3! I find that riding different types of sections and increasing the difficulty of the lines etc every time is realy good, I have also started riding with a couple of guys who ride the hard route, following thier sections and trying to do what they do, it seems to work very well as they are happy to give pointers too! I have booked myself onto one of the Earl Shilton training days this weekend too, realy looking forward to that! Adam
  20. I had a 97 beta techno for 6 months about 8 years ago, then got into bike trials and was riding that up until before christmas, sold that as I had lost all motivation and bought my 2001 sherco 2.9 10 days ago! Had an awesome first weekend riding at ESTC trials ground last weekend, I think the 8 years of bike trials is going to help abit! I am planning on competing this year at the ESTC, maybe a few other trials here and there, Realy looking forward to it! Adam
  21. Hey Guys and Gals Don't know how often people have a a look on the photobysergio website, but he has made a best of Fujigas 2010 video, Its pretty awesome! Best of Fujigas 2010, photobysergio Enjoy! Adam
  22. Well I have done it, the 290 was pretty tidy, spare mudguard etc included (pretty sure I will need that!) little bit of slack in the suspension, but not too major, ran well, gears selected easily. Pretty happy in the end! Managed to get a brand new rack from the guy for a decent price too! The reason I want to change the springs is that at my weight I feel that when moving the bike around, hopping etc it takes alot of movement to get the wheels to raise off the ground, and generaly the bike feels softer than what I think it should, I am hoping that properly setup suspension will make the bike feel mush more responsive. We shall see, gunna be a month or so until I can afford the springs any hoo. Coming from bike trials my bikes were always setup 100% perfect, now I am on a moto I want the same thing, to a point, and I think that suspension will make a HUGE difference to how it rides, getting the correct sag etc. Adam
  23. Thanks for the replies guys, suspension play is something i would deffinately have looked for! I have had abit of a change of plan now as I have found a 2001 sherco 290 for sale only about 15mins from my house, so I am off to have alook at it tonight, It looks pretty tidy and for the money he is asking I think it should be a good bike for me! I will let you guys know how it turns out/supply some pictures if I buy it. Adam
  24. Hi guys, I am thinking of going to look at a 2001 sherco 2.5 at the weekend, this will be my first bike in a fair while (7 years since my 97 techno) and am just wondering what the usual suspects are to look for on one of these bikes. Obvious things like how often the gear box oil was changed, air filter cleaned, when the chain and sprockets were last done i am ok with, but is there anything un-obvious. Is it going to be worth whipping the flywheel cover off and checking that there is no play in the main bearings etc? It has had the swing arm bearins changed fairly recently which is good. I am a fairly hefty bloke, around 19st at the moment, so will also be looking to try and get hold of some heavy duty springs for it, has anyone got hold of some for a sherco before? Idealy I will be wanting to change the rear spring and also maybe the fork springs. Any help will be much appreiciated. Thanks Adam
  25. Hi Guys I have read on here that the 2003 Rev 3's tend to feel a little under powered compare to other years of rev 3, is there a good reason for this, and can it be sorted by altering carb setup etc? The bike would be my first trials bike in 7 years (had a 97 techno before starting bike trials) although I am quite a heavy guy, around 19st at the moment, although that is slowly reducing. Thanks Adam
